omgg yess, the meaning of either way that some fans have figure out is them talking about their experience as a group since being in the industry, as you said there are lyrics that seem really specific, we see lyrics like "all the versions of me created from misunderstandings" and i believe it has to do with all the hate and all the things that were said about them since they debuted, whenever they did something it would get misunderstood specially since they are young, they're mostly really introverted and they were just put through difficult situations, and most of it was from this preconcived perception people had of them, so they talked about how they're not gonna hide parts of themselves bc it makes them who they are, and they are gonna accept all the love and hate bc in the end they can't control it. Also the part of leeseo saying "she's like a sister to me but people call her childish" i've seen some fans agreeing that it's about wonyoung and what people think of her but the members see her as their sister and really love her, and i feel like all the message of the song goes to the people who called them "coworkers" since they don't really see their bond and how the hate gets to all members and they just become strong instead of listening to the assumptions ppl have. This is a really long comment but there's a lot of meaning in the whole video and lyrics, i think it was a really beautiful way of exploring their vulnerability and addressing their struggles without pretending they don't get affected by it.

As you see in the video, all the parties are empty, because all the normal people have partied already and have left and they were never there to begin with because they were busy training, ignoring their teenager/adolescence years. So they are left to experience all of this on their own but it's okay, because either way, they're doing in it in their own way.

You should watch the 1,2,3 ive episodes. I personally really like the first season because it shows there debut processes. I also recommend watching the behind the scenes of dance practices and recording ps of songs they are really cool to watch. Ive is my favorite group and it makes me so excited that you are wanting to know more about them!

either way is a very emotional song...the letters of i, e, v form IVE...the ending scene means i think we all live in a very small piece of the broad space thus do not hate each other.......best song of ive.......
there are 2 samples in off the record....memory from cats in the beginning and lovefool by cardigans in the bridge....this track reminds me of the blondie songs...gal's talking in the midnight.......anyway it is the best song of ive again.....
Either Way - is a song talking about "ME" that can't escape being percieved by people around them, so love them or hate them, either way I'm good, you're good, we're good. (can be apply not only to IVE but to other people, which you can relate to)
Off The Record - on the other hand, can be interpreted in many ways. But it is also mainly talking about "ME" being your own selves with your friend that you trust, Girls night as we can see in the MV, escaping from the world of people that watches their every move, gossiping and sharing their innermost thoughts and Vulnerability with no recordings, videos, or photos, hence OFF THE RECORD.
So basically the EP I'VE MINE, with the 2 songs so far, is maybe about a countless version of their own selves.?
I love your reaction! Either way is about accepting people are different and don’t let their words hurt us. The lyrics are very specific to the members’ situations, some people on tiktok or youtube spread rumors and edited clips to frame them of being disrespectful, childish… it was all over tiktok and the malicious comments were insane. wonyoung always says she doesn’t care but it doesn’t mean she wasn’t affected by it, she just chose to accept their pov of her. Ive show the more vulnerable side of them through this song. And Off the record is exactly like how you interpreted it

I love how IVE is showing their versatility especially with one of their title tracks being a slower song and “off the record” just being SO different compared to their other releases. Don’t know if it’s just me but I love that they don’t have a set concept, comeback is just as different as the last and full of surprises can’t wait for their full EP release next Friday :)

That scene in “Either Way” where the hands hold each other is actually not somebody else’s hand. It’s the own persons right hand holding their left hand to symbolize acceptance and accepting that not everyone is gonna like you and some people will try their best to bring you down, no matter what they think about you shouldn’t matter as long as your being yourself.

Because IVE are one in the MV, it is both. Seeing themselves in the other, they support each other. And in doing so, they also learn to support and love themselves.
