The only vehicle I ever had was the Cloud Car. Probably the WORST ship of the line. It was pretty cool when I was pretending it was some sort of laser pistol, though.
In France, we had ESB toys very late, so i never knew there was a cloud car and the cloud car pilot was not sold except in a half trilogo/palitoy card for the UK market only. So what a surprise it was to find one in the mid 90's 😊
I wish it had a longer nose like the prototype. Many of the 70s toys were iffy, in my opinion. My Greedo's head fell off! I didn't like the Cantina and one of the pegs broke. Vader's TIE and the Dewback were cool though. I was very young for the 77 movie, so I didn't have those. (I read the novelization and liked it better than the movie.) I got more into Star Wars for Empire, though, while I remember going to it, it left almost no impression on me. (I had read the comic.) It must not be a good kid's movie. Maybe this was why Lucas made Return a kids' movie and toy commercial. I loved it as a kid, but I wish it was better as an adult. The Return toys were amazing (though they should have made a new and better Vader and R2, made the Skiff earlier, and dropped Madine). Empire toys were better than the 70s ones, though the lame plastic capes were on a couple figures, they reused the lame 70s R2 (and two more times), and Hoth Luke isn't good.
I had to save up a lot of lunch money because I had to buy these things myself. My parents weren’t spending a penny on these things. I had a few action figures, the X-wing, Vader’s TIE-fighter, both regular and sonic land speeders, and the Falcon. These were all Star Wars branded, not Empire or Jedi. Had the droid factory and sand crawler playesets also. The sand crawler playset had the escape pod from Tantive IV which was the only reason I got it plus both were marked down because they were opened boxes but nothing was missing. I didn’t care for the battle damaged vehicles and unfortunately never got the regular TIE fighter because it was discontinued or not available in my area after the battle damaged versions came out. I would’ve liked to have some of the other vehicles also but they were getting more expensive than my lunch money funds would allow. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.👍
I got Optimus Prime and Hordak with pop can and pop bottle money. I think everything else was from my parents' sketch lawsuits and their theft or from charity.
I think I kind of wanted the Y-Wing because you could plug R2 into it. Also, it looked logical. I didn't really understand the B-Wing, though I love it as an adult. It doesn't make much sense. A TIE Interceptor with three panels which spin around the cockpit would have been cool. I wonder if it exists now.
My all time favorite is the Falcon. Man I still love all the ones I got on Christmas Day 78 aka the greatest Christmas ever 😂 as well as ESB and Jedi. Glad I kept them all these years and didn’t let my kids destroy them. Have a great nigh y’all 🍻
I remember playing with it at someone's house and others like the land speeder. I wasn't into vehicles, but my brother had the shuttle and I had the bike.
I loved it. You could easily use it when playing with figures. I didn't like vehicles much, but I had the bike. I had the cool scout. It's really a shame they didn't make the skiff earlier. We had almost all of the aliens before PoF, and I loved the Sarlacc battle, so we would have got it. I may have seen only a few PoF figures in a drug store, though I had the lame Anakin mail in. I don't like Return of the Jedi much now, but it was a fun kid's movie and fun commercial for cool toys.
When my dad showed me these Star Wars toys on a magazine he owned. I was amazed by the simplicity and lighting at the display on the box. I ask my dad can you get me these for Christmas. My dad laughed, but he got me the next best thing....."Lego Star Wars sets"!!! And the rest was history 🤟😁⚔️🌠🌌
The Return of the Jedi ones are awesome. My brother had the shuttle, and I had the bike. I wish I had the battle wagon. I wasn't into vehicles, but I would have loved it. I don't remember it from the 80s. Maybe it would have worked with He-Man. I had the village and all of the Ewoks except the PoF ones. PoF, Droids, and Ewoks figures were not common where I was in the rural Midwest, especially PoF which I think I only saw in a drug store. The bad Ewoks movies and Droids was where Star Wars began to go very wrong under Lucas, though I liked Droids as a kid. The Ewoks cartoon was alright. Droids was a big missed opportunity to make a real Star Wars cartoon. I don't remember the Empire Strikes Back AT-ST toy which is awesome. Mandela Effect??? 🤔🤔🤔🤔 It's cooler than the movie versions. The Snowspeeder also is cool. I was more of RothJ era Star Wars kid, though that movie has not aged well for me. Ths Cloud Car Pilot was one of the best. My brother had him. Vader's TIE is the coolest of the 70s vehicles. A TIE Bomber would have been cool. It was the original shuttle, so it could have come with a better Vader figure with a cloth/vinyl cape like (real) 4-LOM or cloth like Yoda (and the Ugnaught) and had sound effects, including "Bring my shuttle". They really should have made the skiff earlier. We would have got it, because we had almost all of the aliens, and I loved the pit battle as a kid. It would have been fun to play with. This and not making a better Vader for Return or Empire (he also could have come with the Star Destroyer or individually for use in a Bespin set which would have come with Hans) are the two biggest problems.
They should have released it earlier. We had almost all of the aliens, and I loved the pit battle. It would have been fun. It's super lame they waited until PoF. They had Mini-Rigs though SMH.
i only got the tiny imperial mini rig that looks like the big shuttle they take to endor, i got a tauntaun, and a speeder bike, i dont' know if i got any other vehicles when i was a kid, we had cars and trucks from past 70s toy lines i would put my action figures in
I wish I had more of the Mini-Rigs. They were easier to use while playing with the figures. The Speeder Bike was like that. We only had the tank from Empire. I loved the Tauntaun, Wampa, and Speeder Bike. I wish I had the Dewback.
I currently just have the AT-AT and AT-ST, and those have to be my favorites. I used to have the Millennium Falcon, Slave I, and Snowspeeder as a kid. I bequeathed my Star Wars collection at that time to my cousin. Years later, I got back into Star Wars. He didn't know what happened to the figures and vehicles. I asked him, "How could you lose the Millennium Falcon? It's huge!" About 20 years later, I guess The Force Awakens answered that question?
The small ones are the best ones because the large ones are badly scaled so Kenner can keep them small and cheap. My favorite is the snowspeeder because it's pretty much spot-on with the movie likeness.
Omg you got me at sitting on Santa's lap "I gotta do that!" 😂😂 As a UK Palitoy kid you're absolutely right we had it shit with no sounds X Wing, when I found out that there was an X Wing with lights and sounds in the US in the late 90s I was mind blown.
Yeah, I hear ya. The seventies and eighties were just the pinnacle for awesome toys. I couldn't name one line that exists today that wasn't based on a previous one, that's popular. I guess kids just don't really play with toys the way we did back then. I'll tell ya, I think that phones really are a cultural poison. A lot more negatives than positives.
I love my smart phone though. I will be buried with it. Is it really worse than cable and video games??? I did get out into nature in the rural Midwest as a kid, but I was almost run over by a truck on my Huffy, trying to be Han Solo fleeing from a freaky bully. Things really weren't good back then. The world was primitive. Remember old school hospitals and people smoking every where? I think women were better though, and there wasn't much obesity. People were friendlier, modest, and polite. The 90s was depression, emptiness, and alcohol for me and others.
The difference between a sonic remote and a radio remote was the sonic just used a clicker like something you get at the dollar store in the party section didn't need a battery and the radio remote used a battery and some had an actual antenna but both of them, all both of them would do was back up and the front wheel would turn one direction and then you would hit the trigger on the remote and it would go forward
The AT-AT was my most wanted vehicle as a kid, but I didn't get ahold of one until I was in high school. I remember really wanting the A-Wing as well, but I had no idea back then that it was only released as a Droids toy. So that means that the 1997 POTF2 version was the first A-Wing released in a movie line. Although the 2008 Legacy A-Wing is easily the best version released using that old 1985 mold; but it was a Walmart exclusive so it's kind of hard to come by these days.
I expected more vehicles to be relased when the new Star Wars movies came out. I was really hoping for a updated Millennium Falcon. I know there's the VC version but it would still be kool to have a line of cheaper, more playable toys like we had with the originals.
I agree! I wish they would make more posable versions of the original figures etc (also beasts) which had a cute look, like He-Man Origins. (I'm luke warm on Masterverse which is cool but not really He-Man (He-Man is cave men not demi-god superheroes), and BS and VC look too movie accurate for me.) An Optimus like this is coming. I pre-ordered him. Also third party retro MASK is coming! I would love a more posable 80s (real) 4-LOM who smells like the original (and Hammerhead). (Though I can barely smell now.) I should get the rereleases of him and (real) Zuckuss who we didn't have, though we had nearly all of the pre-PoF aliens. I also want Squid Head, because we didn't have him and he was one of the best.
We had shit in uk but it was still cool.....no hood (bonnet) on lanspeeder to pop up and no sound on x wing.....but those 2 were my first toys and I loved them
And the prices were stupid. About £15.99 for an X wing in 1978 money and that's if you could find one in the first place. I stopped bothering with it after a while, anyway I'd moved on to girls by the time Empire had been released and I never even bothered to go see it.
I told everyone at school that there was a new SW movie coming out called: POTF ,.too. Lol Couple days later,. everyone let me know how dumb I was being. Lol None of the local stores ever carried em. This was 1987 I first seen these
When I was younger I had all of the 1977 Star Wars toys until my dad retired from the military and we moved to another city and the moving company lost half of our boxes and all my toys were gone so I started collecting Gi Joe
I had/ still have my X-Wing, Vader`s Tie-Fighter. the AT-ST Walker. But I never had the Millennium Falcon. My best friend had one, i was always jealous. But today I finally got one. Cant wait until it comes in the mail. I had the burned X-Wing. What was ok about those stickers where that you got two sets of stickers. Regular ones and the see-through burn stickers to put outside of the regular ones, so you didn't have to use the burn stickers if you didn't like them. It would suck more if it was only one set with the burn marks on em.
It might be controversial but I think the TIE Interceptor was one of the nicest ships Kenner produced simply because it's the only Imperial ship that's in proportion and to scale. Most of the other ships were squat and shortened to save on plastic and costs, especially the original (white, not grey) TIE Fighters stubby little wings. Another vehicle we never got in the UK as well as the sonic Landspeeder was the Jawa Sandcrawler; I don't miss the sonic Landspeeder but I wish we could've had the Sandcrawler, but then we never got the Ewok Battle Wagon either. Once again we were the poor cousins. 🤬😂 (I've got the Kenner Death Star now but I still don't like it as much as the Palitoy version, it's probably the nostalgia thing, it's good but I just don't feel that connection to it.)
I like the Interceptor in general. It would have been cool if they had one with three panels which spin around the cockpit. Maybe this exists by now. An awesome VC E-Wing is coming. I have a miniature of a three paneled Interceptor like TIE from a game, the TIE Defender. I also love Vader's TIE.
@@acrodave9287 I wish the panels would spin around the cockpit like the B-Wing. This would make sense if the pilot is attacking a battle ship or station or swarm of fighters and would look cool. The B-Wing doesn't make much sense though.
we had the wind raider and land shark, i dont' think i put any of my star wars figures in them we also had the battle ram and the attack trak, also i didn't put any star wars figures in those either
I was a massive He-Man fan. I had the Attack Trak and Talon Fighter. I have the new Origins Talon Fighter and Wind Raider. I wish they would make a new Attack Trak even if it isn't motorized. I have the Origins Sky Sled. I converted it to the evil snake one and put laughing Skeletor on it. I don't think they made the full Battle Ram yet oddly for Origins
@@peterrenaud9639 Maybe Retroblasting has them or his Ana l buddy. I'd rather they went to charity. I think a lot of them were stolen anyway. 🤔🤔🤔🤔 If I could somehow see my Optimus again, who I bought with pop can money, that would be sweet. I pre-ordered the retro but more posable one, but he doesn't have a trailer so far, and I have some He-Man Origins and third party retro "Gobots". Third party retro MASK is coming! A couple things I want to rebuy weren't too high when I checked.
@@peterrenaud9639 I wish I could see my Optimus, who I bought with salvaged pop can money, again. I pre-ordered the more posable retro one, but he doesn't have a trailer so far. I have some He-Man Origins and Third Party retro "GoBots". Third party retro MASK is coming! The original Hun-Dred from RobForce is cheap. There is a Robo Force Maxx Steele Pop coming!
Why not make a battle-damaged R2D2?? I didn't like the battle-damaged X-wing, except for the tinted canopy and different colour plastic. I dirtied up my Falcon and X-Wing with a pencil lead. I'm not sure that I would have wanted the Rebel Transport just looking at it. But I did get it and it was kinda cool. Storage compartments under the cockpit and gunner areas. The guns could be used for ground battles. I liked the cartboard detailing under the tray. Plus it came with hoth survivlal backpacks and breathing masks for those asteroid worm encounters. I never used it as a figure storage case, but that's what I do now. Is the Star Destroyer a vehicle or a playset? I thought it was awful either way. They should have made something like the Falcon. Similar sized with some removable panels for inside play areas. Maybe with a mini- blockade runner and launchable probes. I didn't like the B-Wing or the A-wing back then, but got an A-Wing later on and B-Wing is still on the wish-list. The imperial shuttle is awesome. They should have released a tie-fighter combo pack. The basic grey cockpit with a set of interchangeable solar panels (Vader, Interceptor, Regular). Favourite as a kid? The Falcon, no question.. I really wanted an AT-AT but never got one. Imperial Shuttle would have been awesome too.
My brother had the shuttle. It was cool but not fun to play with. They overused the lame 70s R2 figure. They even used it for Droids. The Star Destroyer does look lame. They should have made a Bespin set instead. I really wish they released the Skiff earlier. This was a failure of 80s Kenner. (Not making a better Vader and R2 for Return is another one. Did we really need Madine?) We had almost all of the aliens before PoF. It would have been fun to play with like the Speeder Bike, the only SW vehicle I had. I also would have liked the Battle Wagon. I had the village. I didn't like vehicles much, especially for Star Wars. They were funner in GI Joe, though I only had a few of those.
all your videos are fun to watch. i wish i had all these vehicles growing up. i was born in 84 so i just missed all these toy lines. hope you do a video on bayou billy for nes someday!

that skiff says power of the force, does that mean it came out after the first wave of return of the jedi figures in 1983? if so, that is probably why i didn't see it, we got jabbas throne and jabba and the ewok village, we probably would have gotten that skiff if it was for sale with those other items
@@futuramayeah It should have come out earlier! What a shame. We had almost all of the aliens, and I loved the pit battle as a kid. I would have got it for sure.
Would say falcon but it was too hard to fly around the house without blocking your vision and then you would trip on those pajamas with the vinyl feet, just too tough. So I will go with the snowspeeder, luke and han, easy to fly, and the harpoon was fire...
Most of the original molds and specs were used for the POTF vehicle line so you need to be very scrutinizing when buying a "100% original" vehicle. You touched on this with the Ewok wagon, but, exactly how many SW toys did Kenner rebrand or just slightly alter for other movies? That'd be a fun video.
@ThatJunkman this is the first video of yours I've seen, I'll check that out! As a kid, I would make my ROTJ and Robin Hood figures fight on Endor. (Heck, if arrows can penetrate Storm Trooper armor, it fits)
story of my life, was in the store with my mom, saw the falcon up high on the shelf for $50. She thought about it for 2 seconds and said, no its too much money. Some time later she bought me the frickin ewok village. So yeah, i grew up without the falcon, but i had the stupid tree hut thing with the little fuzzy munchkins. Just one small example of how my baby boomer parents made mistake after mistake that screwed my life.
Just as well you didn't get the Ewok 'Battle Wagon' Looks like something out of the Flintstones! They overpriced everything. Time I could afford I was no longer interested
Yeah I remember Christmas 1980 I wanted a tie fighter made sure I asked Santa for a tie fighter when Christmas came and I was all excited bcuz I was going to get a tie fighter and my WTF moment I ended up getting a typewriter for Christmas ugggh 😩 luckily I got my tie fighter 25yrs later 😂
I paid $19.99 for the Falcon at Toys-R-Us back in ‘78 or ‘79. Didn’t notice the price jump to $50.00+ until it was rebranded with Empire or Jedi logos on the box.
Ah yeah, I remember the very first Star Wars toys I got were the Landspeeder vehicle, along with figures of Chewbacca and Ben Kenobi for my 6th birthday, back in August of 1978. Priceless memories, man..
My was millennial falcon and y wing and x wing luke skywalker's land speeder at at walker slave one and darth vade tie fighter and tie fighter and death star playset
Boba looks like he's getting stoned to death on that skiff box😂 what is that anyway? My fav was the snow speeder but I didn't have it. I bought my son a potf one in the late 90s. I think I was as excited as he was. It's what started my collecting back up. Now I have at least a dozen ranging from micro machines to 1/12 scale😅
Scale is all messed up though. C3PO looks about 30 feet tall in comparison to it. If they had to build it to scale though it would be the size of about 3 washing machines strapped together.
The ‘B’ in B-WING stands for BAD ASS!!!!
I think the snowspeeder was my favorite vehicle back then.
The only vehicle I ever had was the Cloud Car. Probably the WORST ship of the line. It was pretty cool when I was pretending it was some sort of laser pistol, though.

The speeder bike would actually explode when you'd press a button behind the seat

I should get the rereleases of him and (real) Zuckuss who we didn't have, though we had nearly all of the pre-PoF aliens. I also want Squid Head, because we didn't have him and he was one of the best.
what about the jawa sand crawler? that was one of my favorites!
Hey Junkman have you ever done a video on why the Kenner commercials in the US always played the same music but it wasn’t the Star Wars theme??
No but guess it’s about money
We had shit in uk but it was still cool.....no hood (bonnet) on lanspeeder to pop up and no sound on x wing.....but those 2 were my first toys and I loved them
And the prices were stupid. About £15.99 for an X wing in 1978 money and that's if you could find one in the first place. I stopped bothering with it after a while, anyway I'd moved on to girls by the time Empire had been released and I never even bothered to go see it.
I told everyone at school that there was a new SW movie coming out called: POTF ,.too. Lol
Couple days later,. everyone let me know how dumb I was being. Lol
None of the local stores ever carried em. This was 1987 I first seen these
When I was younger I had all of the 1977 Star Wars toys until my dad retired from the military and we moved to another city and the moving company lost half of our boxes and all my toys were gone so I started collecting Gi Joe
ships are my FAVORITE!!!!!! this would be my favorite video
what about the AT-ST? i thought that was a cool vehicle, it kinda looked like an Ostridge! lol
It looks awesome, cooler than the ones in the movies, but oddly I don't remember it. Mandela Effect???
never had the falcon, my friend did have it. he sold it to me once time..missing everything. canopy, cover and ball. i had a rough childhood lol
Millennium falcon still my favorite. I have the 2010 one and it's amazing. Just don't have room for the original 😢
Y wing is the bomb
I think I kind of wanted it because you could plug R2 into it. The B-Wing didn't click with me much as a kid. It's abstract.
(I've got the Kenner Death Star now but I still don't like it as much as the Palitoy version, it's probably the nostalgia thing, it's good but I just don't feel that connection to it.)
@@tomcruisenukedmyaccount5388 That'd be the TIE Defender. I didn't know that off the top of my head, I just Googled it. 🤭
The Cloud Car was my first vehicle
damn dude my childhood sucked. im getting ptsd. you should see me now.. i have everything at 52
My favorite was the 78 Tie Fighter and the B-wing
I do have an Star Wars vehicle I got it for my birthday along with star wars figures
My 3 favorite x-wing , Falcon and the Tie Fighter
Just got a rancor and 4 packs of rotj unopened wax packs on Sunday.
My brother had the rancor. It was cool. I had the Tauntaun and Wampa. I wish I had the Dewback.
@@tomcruisenukedmyaccount5388 I have reacquired all of those except the dewback. I lost all my childhood ones in a fire😢
@@peterrenaud9639 I have no idea where mine are. I had a bad falling out with my creepy family.
Did you catch who is piloting the battle damaged x-wing? Looks like beetlejuice stole Luke’s ride
My video game videos flop
@@ThatJunkman but its bayou billy......
M Falcon Favve-Sadly 2 expensive Settled 4 Land Speeder-X Wing TIE but the Vintage Kenner will Remain a Special Memory! Still a $ucker for ANY SW Ships-Thrill to Find used Thrift Stores. great Video JM-Its been a while. Enjoy YR. Posts jedi of D Junk.
i did have a speeder bike
I loved it.
never had an xwing my friend had it. was missing everything too. hey we were poor
The ships were the best toys ever made
Edit: except the twin pod cloud car
that skiff says power of the force, does that mean it came out after the first wave of return of the jedi figures in 1983? if so, that is probably why i didn't see it, we got jabbas throne and jabba and the ewok village, we probably would have gotten that skiff if it was for sale with those other items
@@futuramayeah It should have come out earlier! What a shame. We had almost all of the aliens, and I loved the pit battle as a kid. I would have got it for sure.
Millennium Falcon for Sure.
Junkmans junk draw. 🧐
😂
Would say falcon but it was too hard to fly around the house without blocking your vision and then you would trip on those pajamas with the vinyl feet, just too tough. So I will go with the snowspeeder, luke and han, easy to fly, and the harpoon was fire...
i actually had ALL of the Star Wars but very few Empire and NO Jedi ships
battle wagon looks sweet..nope never had it either
Is the Taun Taun considered a vehicle?
You forgot the Ewok glider!
No I am explain I am not covering small scale vehicles
Woohoo
Imperial Troop Transporter
I too hated the battle damage stickers
Most of the original molds and specs were used for the POTF vehicle line so you need to be very scrutinizing when buying a "100% original" vehicle.
You touched on this with the Ewok wagon, but, exactly how many SW toys did Kenner rebrand or just slightly alter for other movies? That'd be a fun video.
Already done it
@ThatJunkman this is the first video of yours I've seen, I'll check that out!
As a kid, I would make my ROTJ and Robin Hood figures fight on Endor.
(Heck, if arrows can penetrate Storm Trooper armor, it fits)
i never got the land speeder or xwing as a kid, does that action figure come out of the x wing ship? or is it glued in there?
You included the Ewok battle wagon, but not the Ewok Combat Glider.
also no dewback or tauntaun WTF?!
Why would I have creatures in a video about ships and vehicles
It falls under the mini line
@@ThatJunkman those ARE vehicles!
I wish they would redo the Battle Wagon and that speeder from Droids.
story of my life, was in the store with my mom, saw the falcon up high on the shelf for $50.
Just as well you didn't get the Ewok 'Battle Wagon'
Looks like something out of the Flintstones!
@@randyalaman7802 yeah, tie fighter, type writer,
Sounds like your parents misheard what you wanted
I paid $19.99 for the Falcon at Toys-R-Us back in ‘78 or ‘79. Didn’t notice the price jump to $50.00+ until it was rebranded with Empire or Jedi logos on the box.
The solar panels of the TIE fighter could be ejected I remember.
I think I played with it somewhere. I may have seen the X-Wing. I forget.
Ah yeah, I remember the very first Star Wars toys I got were the Landspeeder vehicle, along with figures of Chewbacca and Ben Kenobi for my 6th birthday, back in August of 1978. Priceless memories, man..
f word?? do you mean F F F farmboy luke lol lol
No, farkle :)
i think i know what the a wing pilot looks like, i never got him, i am not sure what a b wing pilot looks like
My was millennial falcon and y wing and x wing luke skywalker's land speeder at at walker slave one and darth vade tie fighter and tie fighter and death star playset
bro the skiff from target is trash. buy the vintage collection one its more accurate. i threw my old skiff in the garbage
did you say you had a drunk drawer!?! lol!
Wow, didn’t know there was a Jawa Sand Crawler!
Brilliant vid’ Junks dude. Never get tired of these. ☺️
Scale is all messed up though. C3PO looks about 30 feet tall in comparison to it.
If they had to build it to scale though it would be the size of about 3 washing machines strapped together.
@@Thenogomogo-zo3un It's cool though. I don't remember it.
You forgot Darth Vader’s star destroyer, too.
Playset, it’s just one room of a ship
i did have a landspeeder it was missing everything. was the worst
Battle-Damaged Tie Fighter is stupid!!👎
