  • Yeah, I know I post a lot of videos of Crib Goch. I've been up there a lot recently. What ya gonna do?
    I've always wondered how fast I could cross Crib Goch if I tried, and now I know! Anyone dare to challenge me? Well you shouldn't, because you'll probably die.
    For quality mountain guiding (next summer) you need a Brave Dave Guided Adventure. Check it out at www.iambravedave.com

    I love your videos Brave Dave, keep them coming. You have inspired me to try Crib Goch again next year via a more off piste route, hopefully when it is not raining.

    • @BraveDave
      @BraveDave  5 років тому +1

      Nice one, Rob! Yeah, maybe try to avoid the rain :) But I'm curious, when you say "more off piste" what do you mean? It's not like there are multiple ways along the ridge :P Or do you mean going up the North Ridge rather than from the Pyg track?

    • @robmerryfield8616
      @robmerryfield8616 5 років тому +1

      Yes, starting of at the boulders on the Llanberis road and going up the North Ridge. I am also yet to do Tryfan, so next year these two are on my wish list. Keep up the good work with the videos.

    hey dave I recommend a little mini hand held camera gyro stabilizer, ya know the thing that keeps it from being shakey, would be a great addition for ur upcoming fat follow up.. it could also work as a better grip on ur camera, I could imagine holding an awkwardly shaped camera would make this more difficult

    • @BraveDave
      @BraveDave  5 років тому +1

      Holding my camera is actually really easy. I think that a gyro would be more akward to hold and I wouldn't have the wrist control to quickly turn it to face different directions like I do at the moment. Also I think you've misunderstood what the Fat Follow Up is. It's a video about the Big Fat Freight Hop in more detail, not another freight hop :P

      @BraveDave  5 років тому

      Snowdonia is a national park, yes, and all of the mountains in the UK are public access. Snowdon is the most popular and has about half a million walkers a year, I think. One of the routes to the summit includes Crib Goch so naturally you get a lot of people up there in prime season, including some far less experienced than others. Mountain Rescue are always having to go and help people in jeans and/or sandals with no waterproofs who get caught out by a change in weather. Silly people!!

      Yes because after the airline heard that he wasnt allowed to enter the country they definitly told them that the flight was gonna be free right? Also he was banned from Canada and that caused him to be banned from the US aswell.

    Have you ever thought about getting a head mount? Or do you not want to mess up that iconic camera work

    • @BraveDave
      @BraveDave  5 років тому

      My camera is in fact always attached to a head mount, I just wrap the head mount around my wrist and hold the camera in my hand. That way I can switch between the two really easily. However on this run I didn't have time to switch so I could only choose one, and I chose to hold the camera because the footage looks much more interesting when I can point the camera in different directions. (By the way, I like the phrase "iconic camera work") :)

    How are you so good with heights, Dave? Is it mental training or are you just wired differently?

    • @BraveDave
      @BraveDave  3 роки тому +1

      It's just confidence :P If I'm in control of whether I fall or not, and can feel that there is plenty of grip for my trainers and my hands then I feel fine. If the rock is wet or (worst case scenario) icy then I would definitely not be feeling so boisterous.

      @@BraveDave :) it really annoys me: usually I'm quite rational when it comes to risk....
      But while if walking on a plank at 2 feet in the air I'd have no trouble at all, raise that to 100ft my brain would turn so far into jelly I'd probably stumble right off :(
      Which seems weird because usually the human mind is designed to come to the rescue in a crisis situation.
      Thanks for the response and wishing you a great Christmas (or the best possible with everything that's going on ;) )

    • @BraveDave
      @BraveDave  3 роки тому

      @@rowgli Well if it's any consolation, Rowgli, I'd be crapping myself on a plank of wood 100 ft in the air as well! Because I'd have nothing to hold on to, and if I slipped or stumbled there would be zero second chances. On something like Crib Goch there is plenty of stuff to grab hold of or steady yourself if you were to trip.
      And a happy Christmas to you too! :D

    love the videos but please start filming in 16:9 with your new shiny gopro :D

    • @BraveDave
      @BraveDave  5 років тому

      The reason I film in 4:3 is because it actually captures more footage, as 16:9 just cuts off the top and bottom. When on the edge of a cliff it's best to be able to see as much as possible to get a better feel for the depth.

    • @MalteSpieltYT
      @MalteSpieltYT 5 років тому
