I remember reading through the cassette liner while listening, and the combination of their lyrics, artwork, and composition left me in true awe. I've been chasing the dragon ever since.
show me just one other death metal album where the first song has a goddamn headless tambourine (aka _jingle ring_ ) during the chorus
A true masterpiece. I got this when it first came out, and it was the heaviest thing I had ever heard \m/
i got this album and napalm death's "fear, emptiness, despair" at the same christmas. good day.
It`s simple. The government and social institutions give a fak so you feel like shjit, nobody sometimes. Grief, wrath of no justice and peace like should be and seriously think about it how to reach the peace in life on this crazy planet.
Hello Sir, can you explain to me what is meant by scumgrief? Is it just a really deep grief, or .... ?
Such underappreciated album.
@Death Dagger Exactly my thoughts ...when this came out it was an instant " hit " amidst Grind/Industrial/ Metal fans ...actually one of the most appreciated albums of its day .
by whom? everyone that likes metal since the 80s 90s love this album man
For me the best Fear Factory record and one of the best albums ever. Classic, absolute masterpiece!
"Concrete" too was first on cassette
One of the most unique sounding metal albums ever. The first time I heard it I had no idea what to think of it
and what do hyou think of it now? lol
Totally Awesome album. This is when Fear Factory were a Real band.
Wow, no love for Obsolete. Easily their best album to date. Resurrection + Timelessness = one of the best metal ballads ever made.
tf you mean by “real band”? they were always a real band
Demanufacture fucking rips! Genexus is as banger too( I love Battle for Utopia, and Regenerate). I prefer Mechanize over Genexus tbh!
Oh really? Well, I prefer Demanufacture and Genexus to Soul Of A New Machine.
Excelentísimo albumazo en la colección!!
Ozzfest 98. Only a few bands blew me away. Fear factory, mudvayne, vision of disorder. What a time it was then. Metal was just poping
@Tower Tito nope. Not at all. It's a mattwr of being educated and uneducated.
@Aegis Raven are we splitting hairs now.
@Nephi McKnight they were never metal though they were a hardcore band.
Vision of Disorder! Such a good band! I rarely hear them mentioned
I remember when this album came out, I was like 15 at that time. It was one of 1992's best albums. along with Deicide's legion and Obituary the end complete.
Can’t forget Sleep’s Holy Mountain
Had you beat by a year, my cousin in la sent me the two demos in 91
Aparte de Utopia Banished, algunos momentos de éste album me recuerdan un poco al disco de Ripping Corpse.
horns up for this album ⚒⚒⚒⚙🤟🤘
@Thunor it is a good album back from 1992
Yes indeed \M/
Fear Factory: The Matrix before the Matrix was even conceptualized
They foresaw everything we are living today
FF is more connected with Terminator, but yeah, it in that sense was The Matrix before The Matrix.
@Atlantyda i Lemuria have you seen what we have done to the planet? We are like a 3 year old, throwing its toys in the fireplace
There are 3 or 4 matrixes planned in future. 3rd matrix have I, II parts, so 3rd is last and maybe 4 if 3rd not bring anything. Hope people survive all matrixes. Never give up. Never. Machines never win. This is our planet, human planet, Earth is for people and for animals but not beasts.
It would have been interesting if they kept this original sound in their next album. It has a thrash and death metal style that reminds me if what would eventually become the early deathcore sound.
You can't beat Demanufacture, it's one of the best metal albums of all time.
Colin Richardson who produced both this and demanufacture actually tried to. Dino wasn’t having any of it. You can find two mixes on deluxe version of demanufacture that are listed as the Colin Richardson mixes where it’s somewhere in between the two sounds and the liner notes in cd booklet explain the fallout between band and producer over the sound.
Wrong wrong wrong.
Best Album of is kind ever!
All up in your ears 🤘🤘🤘
Very Awesome album
Clássico
This changed the metal perpception in the brain ... they made its own style FF💥🏭 .
This actually changed the world perception in my brain. ...and I still suffer.
cyber death metal con i controcazzi...micidiali,i love this album
Brutal!!!
These guys got lumped in the death metal scene but they weren't really tech metal they brought something different one of the first bands to use clean vocals and death vocals together
@Mezev how long is a decade, exactly, in your mind? lol
@Mezev decades? this album came out in 92, first slipknot album came out in 99. Influential band though, along with Ministry, Helmet, Primus, Rage, and Faith No More really helped shape rock/metal music from the mid 90's on.
@Mezev crapknot copies nirvana
and slipknot copied them.... every sK song is tough vocals then soft clean vocals for the chorus, if you listen, FF did this well, and decades before slipknot
Changed my life all the way back in 98 when I was only 10 and it was already 5 years old by then
Obsolete album year :D
Listened to that during the comedown time of many a mushroom trip
First FF album? Yes please!!!
Concrete is first on cassette like a demo.
This is the most badass tambou-fucking-rine I ever heard!
@John Doe Hell yeah! \../
LUL yeah its great
Their best album!! F*** yeah !!
Wait I did not know Fear Factory had that many album's It would be only the third album I would here and thought it was their only album.
I've seen both bands in their Prime Fear Factory on their demufacturer tour for the first time and meshuggah on their first US tour with Slayer for chaosphere you are in for a treat
@Roberto Estrada unfortunately I haven't caught them live. I'm seeing Meshuggah in September though
@Colton Hamilton O' really I did not know that have You ever been to one of their Concert's.
Their 10th album just came out last year
10/10!!!
Get where Slipknot took it from ? Infatilised the ideas explored in this and aimed for a massive audience . Success .
Depends on your definition of " band" ...I would speculate Wu tang Clan ( just a very well known example ) was once a band for example ...but that is just my personal opinion . Actually ,come to think of it, so were Slipknot. Just a "band " I didn´t enjoy from the get go for various reasons .
Slipknot aren't a real band.
yes exactly. they copied it totally
It's too bad they didn't continue in this direction...
What happened to music like this?
Never forget machines were once living beings and should return.
This guitar tone just sounds pure evil. How does nobody talks about that?
Hey soldier, do you know who's in command here?
норм
I like it, but I don't want to wreck the 666 view count!
If you like to suffer is it still suffering
