At least from the round of 16 to the finals, they didn't drop a single round. And I can't say I disagree after watching the battles. Improvisation should not be underrated (especially for Machine, even though Lil Zoo took way more rounds; smart strategy to keep the old guy fresh). You have to surprise to get a Wow, out of smart judges, no matter how technical you are.

More complex isn't better.. , it's no all about the moves and sets.. Machine uses the Music very well with less complex sets & moves, but his ideas and statement is clear and his presence is impressive, there a bboys who go for 1 minute and use 100 moves, without any structure or story, alkolil is just putting together random mini sets & moves together without any clear story or strategy behind.. imagine reading just the middle pages of a great BOOK, the part u just read is amazing but it feels empty because u haven't read the Intro and u don't know the ending, that's alkolil, and that's the problem of 99% of the bboys. apart from the presence, musicality, machine also uses the Space in great way, notice how he uses the whole space in every battle, then there is the Slow/fast combinations, Stops, direction changes, he isn't the most creative bboy out there, but many can learn from him, he has a great understanding of this art & dance.
