Hey guys, in this video we will show you how to remove and replace the battery on Mercedes ML Class from 1998 to 2005. Some models might differ. As a whole it is not very complicated procedure to replace the battery but make sure that you get exactly the same size or otherwise it might not fit in the battery compartment.

LOL! Mercedes…simple? European auto manufacturers have a laugh at things like “ease of maintenance” and “ergonomic switches” (though I must say I love the location of the oil filter on the ML430!). Let’s just call them “quirky”, and, “expensive”. 😉

I'm sorry, but when changing the battery, you have to disconnect the ( -) negative terminal first and only after the (+) positive one. When putting the battery back, you have to connect it in reverse order - first (+) and then (-). The rest is very informative, thank you.
This "how to" video on obscure but exactly what I needed topic, is what makes UA-cam and its billion hours of video so great!
The safe way to connect the battery is to connect the positive first. If the wrench shorts the terminal to the body there is no circuit. Connect the negative terminal last. If you short the negative terminal to the body, the body is at the same voltage.
I learned fron a battery maker that if battery acid gets into a scratch on your skin you will get a permanent scar. You are right to recommend the wearing of gloves. I think that nitrile rubber gloves are the best to wear. What do you recommend?

N. M for the radio you have to contact your local Mercedes Benz dealership, you first have to give them your car’s vin number and then they’ll give you the radio code

Man, I do not mess with enough Mercedes’ to know that even my dad’s ‘05 ML350 Special Edition, required so “much” to remove the battery. Added annoyance being that the hood struts were blown out; so I had to find an extra long stack of wood to get the hood held up wide enough..

changed battery and alternator and it still won't start, before I did the repairs i could jump it and it would start up, I have power, but it will not turn over. Thanks for any help you can give.
