Suppose you want to remove it? Can you get it taken out? It is possible for your body to reject it? What about it corroding under your skin after a period of time? Could it cause an infection? I think this bit of convenience is over-estimated, but then again, this is for a study. It's not a final product meant to revolutionize your life. Having a smartphone is already enough for most conveniences. As for bodily alterations, I think they'll be more biological and that chips and other such enhancements are going to be much less of than people think, simply because we don't always need stuff inside of us for it to be useful, and we can always adapt the world around us to fit us instead. Things like virtual reality and artificial intelligence is going to be more than enough most of the time.

Understanding the technology - every chip has an Unique ID - you can use one chip for several stuff like: opening your front door, unlocking your phone, computer,... You must learn the system the UID from your chip. So it is also possible to open 100, 1000 ore more,... with one implant.
The technology is around for many years. The only problem would be when your company works with the Low Freqeuncy Chips (doesn't work with NFC and Smartphones) and change the system to High Freqeuncy - then you need an other chipimplant.
I know many people including me who had several chip implants.

A normal nfc chip that I can use for whatever I want and has nothing to do with any companys ore goverments seems ok. But Idk if I want a smartchip under my skin. It gives away too much privacy, just imagine you call in sick for work but you boss can look up you blood and see you were drunk af last night. For me its 100% privacy > comfort

I think this bit of convenience is over-estimated, but then again, this is for a study. It's not a final product meant to revolutionize your life. Having a smartphone is already enough for most conveniences. As for bodily alterations, I think they'll be more biological and that chips and other such enhancements are going to be much less of than people think, simply because we don't always need stuff inside of us for it to be useful, and we can always adapt the world around us to fit us instead. Things like virtual reality and artificial intelligence is going to be more than enough most of the time.
