- A remix of Some of the dark scenes in Ben 10 Ultimate Alein. containing the scenes where be acts maturely. This is to make a point. Ben does NOT go back to his 10 yo jerk persona. He acts maturely when its time to act maturely. let me explain.
People say that UA ruined ben's character development. I think they misunderstand whats happening. As explained by 10 yo ben in the 'forge of creation' episode: he takes everything like a joke because the thought of someone dying because of his incompetence scares him.
That, coupled with the fact that he is a 16 yo suddenly dealing with fame. the fame gets to his head, leading to his arrogent behaviour.

The title is in quotes because thats what people say. And thats the thought what this video is trying to COUNTER. This is a tribute countering the claim that UA ruined ben's Character developmnet. Which. It. Did. Not.
People say Alien Force season-3, UA or Omniverse ruined "Ben's character development", but what they don't understand is that he's a 15/16 year old who has saved the universe many times, is nigh omnipotent. Isn't it realistic that he will act cocky, but he is always serious when he needs to be.

@@Theokal3 wrong, Omniverse gave him a consistent personality, just beacuse he sounds goofy doesn't mean he can't get serious, he defeated Vilgax 3 times, defeated Ultimate Kevin (with Aggregor's power) and more, of course he acts confident and relaxed, in fact he's only 16.

I'm pretty sure this argument stems from Ben's insistence on killing Kevin, which... what the hell? That was the MATURE thing to do. That was the HARD, UNLIKEABLE truth that, had Kevin not been saved last minute, would've been the OBJECTIVELY right thing to do in order to save other people's lives. Now read that a second time.
BEN cares-too-much Tennyson, choosing to do the OBJECTIVELY RIGHT THING, rather than act on his own subjective biases. If that isn't Ben maturing into a better character, then I don't what is.
I’ve seen Ben be called a sociopath who wanted to kill Kevin out of jealousy because Kevin stole his thunder as a hero against Aggregor. Not once did Ben want to murder Kevin. He believed it was something he had to do for everyone else’s good which isn’t the same as wanting to kill. If Ben was really a sociopath like some people in the fandom claim, he wouldn’t have went back for the sentinel, he wouldn’t let Gwen borrow his car to cheer her up after her parents refused to buy her one and he wouldn’t have ended the Highbreed war peacefully.
Ultimate Alien and Omniverse actually are the best personalities because the other 2 series are either goofy or too serious it just depends on the situation that Ben is currently in

Strongly disagree regarding Omniverse. In my opinion that's where he was at his goofiest and most immature, and that was for the worst.
The way i view it, no series 'ruined ben's character development', the closest being the AF S3 we got. but even then Ben's never been ruined. He's a bit too goofy in OV for some people, but i'm sure theres a way to reason that he acts goofy and light hearted to counter act how serious and dark life can be,
@H.M.S I heard a from some youtube coment the reason why Ben act more childish on OV was because he just doing hero stuff like when he was a kid, helping up plumbers capturing low level Alien criminall, helping Rook in undertown, basically any hero stuff. And also OV was lack a huge treat compared to UAF, so by that point Ben was just use his changes to relax and goofing around while he can, he only get serious when theres a huge treat going on, like that one time with Malware or the war with incurseans.

In omniverse he's just like back to basics again in simple hero tasks and occasional intergalactic tasks. And besides he's much more self confident because he's gone through so much so he's basically met all these villains at least once and he has a new omnitrix and he's generally just trying to enjoy life like a regular person

You’ll be surprised at the number of Kevin fangirls that hate Ben and warp his character to make Kevin look better. They call Ben things like a sexist hoe when Kevin had that whole line about treating cars like women and a bootlicker for working with the plumbers when Kevin cares way more about being a plumber than Ben.
He seemed mostly fine in UA, and I haven't seen much of Omniverse yet to come up with a solid conclusion for what I think of him.
AF Season 3, while having its moments... I don't think him acting all cocky at the start was necessarily a good play. If it were toned down just a bit, maybe it would've worked.

I only ever heard talking about alien force season 3
I honestly NEVER heard this criticism being leveled at UA, only at AlienForce Season3. (Which I think is far more warranted) There’s really only one episode of UA that I think is worthy of that criticism, and that’s the episode “Duped”, where he uses EchoEcho to duplicate himself and go watch a movie AND watch Julie’s tennis match simultaneously. That just seemed WAY too selfish and inconsiderate to defend him there, especially since we’ve seen much better from him in previous episodes. That one episode aside, I thought Ben had GREAT character-development in UA!👍

Touché. With the exception of that one detail tho, the whole duplicating trick he did just seemed too much like something 10-year-old Ben would’ve done at his worst, not an experienced superhero or a decent boyfriend. Deceiving Julie and exploiting his powers that way, just didn’t sit right with me. But yeah, I guess he did try to help out Kevin as well.
I hated that episode. Ben was quite mean spirited and so was Gwen who didn’t care about the Forever knights robbing the museum. The arrogant Ben clone says some really hurtful stuff at Julie’s match. The movie made Ben seem really selfish. I would have swapped it for Ben having promised to make a public appearance and forgotten the date of the tennis match.

@HaydenStephens515, some people have called Ben a sociopath who wanted to kill Kevin for getting to be the hero against Aggregor. Are you kidding me! That’s what Captain Nemesis did. Kuro did a good breakdown of Ben’s psyche in that arc. He felt responsible for Kevin because he let his guard down with Aggregor, and felt he had stop Kevin no matter what it took to prevent another Aggregor.
This & the omniverse video really helped refresh my confused mind !! 😊☺️

Ben has the greatest character development I've ever seen he started as 10 yes old immature boy who treated everything as joke but as time goes on with guidance of Grandpa max he became the greatest hero the universe has ever known

and completely ignored how he realised that and stopped during UA.
You ever tried watching it in production order? Literally one episode Ben tries to be all mature and in next episode gets egoistical throwing everything from past episode in trash can. Mf befriended Kevin in the beginning of AF with several episodes showing how Kevin has become a better person, then tried to kill him while knowing damn well osmosians go insane after absorbing a lot of energy (plus gwen's constant efforts of trying to elaborate) and acts like nothing happened when Kevin actually become normal.
Look at Omniverse Ben in comparison. He knew Kevin wasn't in control. He even tried to assure Gwen he'll bring back Kevin contrary to UA. Even though Kevin was obviously faking it but still Ben played his role and actually maintained his maturity and relationship with other's.
Ultimate Alien really evolved his character development. Big time
I really miss UA and AF it was a great show omniverse was a bit up and down since they down grade so many charters and Ben lost his photographic memory and he always have a plan they never bring that back .

This is just my opinion so if you wanna hate me for saying this then go ahead but:
Ultimate alien didn't ruin Ben's character, some understand the show while others don't. Ultimate alien is probably the darkest installment in the classic Ben 10 franchise and that can be a good thing in a way. If anything Ben isn't at his worst in Ultimate alien but at a lot of the time at his best.

I've always realized there are many angry grown men in their late 30's living in their mom's basement who always hate on Ben saying he is too cocky and childish but he is more selfless and good than any real life person i know. Sure he can be cocky at times but i don't know why people act like that is the greatest evil, not everyone who is cocky and childish is a bad person. Ben has done more good things and has more of a kind heart than of any of his angry haters who constantly shit on him.
People forget that he’s not even 18 by the end of the show. He’s a kid whose only chance of a normal life ended when the Highbreed invaded. He barely has any time to do the things he likes because of hero work. He’s one of my favorite cartoon/anime characters, and inspires me to stay optimistic and do good. The first time we saw him, he was trying to stand up for a bullied kid and yet people claim he only does hero work to boost his ego. Is it wrong to want some acknowledgment or praise for being a hero especially when you have people like Harangue or Pakmar that hate you for trying to help? I would rather defend someone like Ben as opposed to those who stan villains for being “hot” or “misunderstood”.
