The Mk21 Centurion is a static 254 mm anti-aircraft weapon system mounted on NATO warships in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Jets DLC.
The Mk21 Centurion is a medium-ranged, surface-to-air missile launcher that launches missiles which utilise semi-active radar homing guidance. It provides reliable self-defence capability against agile, high-speed and low-altitude aircraft.
Its 254 mm radar-guided missiles are fitted with high-explosive fragmentation (HE-Frag) warheads, with each launcher always being pre-loaded with up to 8 missiles at a time. Its fire control system has access to three magnification zoom modes, and is able to switch between using normal day, night, and black/white-hot thermal vision modes. It can be used to strike aircraft flying at distances of up to 14 km.

Моё детство прошло ещё в СССРе между полигоном "Погоново" и аэродромом "Балтимор". Я помню, когда в 70-е впервые появились "Крокодилы" Ми-24. Для нас-пацанов их полеты были настоящим шоу. На бешеной скорости пара вертолетов при минимальной высоте скрытно подлетала к лесополосе, холму моментально поднималась вертикально вверх но с опущенными носами, делала залп. Сразу опрокидывались на бок, камнем падали за это же укрытие и в неск метрах над землей уходили для новой атаки. Возможно тактика за столько лет изменилась. Разрабам виднее....

подходит, пролетая над головой на бреющем и ослабляя кишечник пехоты. многотонная дура мчась со скоростью 200+ км/ч на ходу поливает все НУРсами и ЛАБами, добавляя жару из авиапушки))) Мелькнул монстр и растворился, все так же на бреющем с набором скорости)))

Helicopters would never work like this)) They will avoid coming too close to AA systems and flying above the town. Helicopters are very expensive and pilots do not want to die.

This is a bad ass video without a doubt . Didn't look movie quality but not far from it . That would've been a hell of a battle scenario for real . I think the air defense batteries would've got there asses worked off , defending against that many choppers . I think each side would've suffered fairly high losses . But still it was a cool video indeed .
In a realistic scenario, the choppers would have come in quick succession, destroy the objectives and leave behind the mountain.
Sending choppers when AA is still on is already unrealistic but doing several passes in that context would be absolutely suicidal.

ArmA 3 is a great game. I still don't understand all the comments shitting in this video because they think people are tying to make this seem like a real event, But it even says the game in the title. Arma 3 is a video game that has so much creativity, its just endless, to military sim, to counter terrorism, to city life, to even just being a taxi driver in arma life server, The possibilities are endless. Now next time before your conservative ass gets offended by a video because your ego cant stand you sitting there quiet and do a little research, just leave.
Great video, I love destruction, Though it's not "HARDCORE WAR REALISM". Its very great and well made. Sad this was in my recommended now and not sooner. If you want to learn more about it look it up, or even just ask me. I do Zeus ops and campaigns with friends and strangers.

RADAR AA missiles? Because those flares wern't doing anything.
Nope, in arma and real life those missiles are hard to confuse. If you don't cut power or hide your source of heat, you get hit. My professor told me if you dump too much flares in real life, you will still get hit. The exact detail is classified, so he can't tell me.

@@Skiesaremine flares is not effective at such range. Heli never use it when going on assault course. only when they leave and if some AA still active. Also heli never leave with taking altitude, always on high speed by low level terrain to use it as cover. All attack takes max 1 min. strike on already known targets and leave. Assault of AA is a primary goal for heli.

Заход Ми-24Д на цель осуществляется рассредоточенной группой, на предельных скоростях, от возвышенности в низину, с уходом части группы на "карусель", пока вторая часть исполняет заходы по "качелям". Цели строго распределены. Весь цикл атаки самое большее минута, плюс пол минуты на отход, на бреющем, и никак не в гору... А так это выглядит как извращенный суицид.
