Shout-out to the editor for choosing the perfect music and audio levels. Everything about this is beautiful but it's the acoustics that makes it special
honestly, she provides ways to help and show there’s some hope for healing Earth. like small changes done by multiple ppl can really help, and learning too
Maya this video inspired me to buy a purple martin nest box. In my state, Pennsylvania, their population has dropped 2/3s in the past 50 years, so I hope even a small difference, makes a difference.
This video was suggested from one of my Purple Martin pages. I am so glad that I came to watch. As a Purple Martin landlord for only 6 year’s, this video was incredible. I am infatuated with the birds and get so happy when they “come home” every year. This this trip is on my bucket list!!
My dad always built and put up houses for purple martins at every place we lived. I didn't know the full story of their situation, this was really cool to watch and helped me better understand something my dad would do!
My husband and I have been purple martin keepers for about 5 years. Every single year we add more houses. Right now we have about 60 nest boxes. If we see we are running short we have about 8 more nests we can provide with gourds and boxes. I love to hear them in the summer. They really love where we live. We have a farm and have 2 ponds right at the house. The ponds are full of dragon flies, their favorites. I hope everyone that sees this will realize how important these little birds are.
This series is awesome, this is the first time I have heard of the plight of the purple martins, so your outreach definitely worked for me! I will be donating, and showing my mom this because she would love to help. Thanks Maya, and the whole crew!
My Mimi, who has long passed, loved her purple martins and we would spend hours in her backyard listening to them chirp and sing and watching their babies grow up. Seeing them learn to fly and leave the nest was such a rewarding experience. They hold a special place in my heart and every year when I see them come to my house it reminds of my time with my Mimi. Thank you Maya for giving them some spotlight, they are truly the cutest little birds.

Great Video Maya. I shared it with Oklahoma Purple Martin Group on facebook and donated. The work you and your team do is so important. Thank you for helping me get informed on such amazing parts of our world.
This is really neat. I had no idea Purple Martin's relied this heavily on us for providing breeding grounds, though it makes sense with the habitat loss and invasive species present in NA today. I also just learned they breed as far north as Southern Ontario where I am, so will have to go looking once they arrive this spring. This is really important information to share with the world. Thanks Maya and team for putting together a good production and sharing it on your platform.
Maya "Attenborough" Higa! This video was sooo good! Literally couldn't have been better, especially loved hearing from Joe on the history of purple martins!!
Awesome video. Smiled the whole way through. Maya killed with the structure and Flip did an AWESOME job with the cameras. Good job Alveus. Hope you guys appear in Brazil more frequently, we'd love that! Gotta share this with my fellow Brazilians
I cried so many times watching this video. I grew up watching Steve Irwin and lost interest in animal conservation after he passed. This channel helped me get back into it. Thank you for all the work you do. All the love from India!
Flip did such a good job with filming all the stuff, big props to him! This is far more professional than anticipated to be honest :D Maya also does a really good job in presenting this. She is just amazing
I'm so emotional watching this god. This perfectly highlights how individual actions are so important and truly can make a difference, even if it's as small as 1 little bird house for a very cool bird
I’ve been waiting for this vid to drop ever since you mentioned it on stream in January. The quality is so high and it’s such an important message. I hope you can do more videos like this in the future because you have the gift to go far and wide to spread awareness and inspire change for the better in this world.
Holy (baby) Cow, this was one of the best nature documentaries I've ever seen. You all absolutely killed it. MAD respect for the level of quality and the dedication. To everyone who says, UA-cam will never reach the quality of TV-Productions, THIS should change your mind.
Thanks to your first martin video I was able to go to the same parking lot and see the purple martins before they left just a couple weeks later! Now I'm a huge purple martin advocate and dedicated to seeing them every year (and hopefully having the living space one day to support a colony.)
Production is soo good Maya. Thank you for learning me something. I show your videos to my 2 year old nephew if he ever sits still long enough and we both enjoy it.
maya and the team - this is so well done, holy shit. just reading through the comments shows how many people you've informed and inspired about purple martins (myself included), you're truly making an impact. there's a lot of darkness in the world, but stuff like this is such a breath of fresh air, and it's so motivating. thank you alveus, pmca, wwf, and every other organization doing amazing work like this ❤
Incredible job to everyone who helped make this possible. Maya, Flip, PMCA/Joe, the viewers, and purple martins of coursee. To Maya especially, I've gained a deeper understanding about the natural world and my perspective of it has completely changed because of you. The work you do is important, and your value is immeasurable, thank you ❤
Maya, I am loving every second of all the Brazil blogs. you so rock tiny woman. Besides being so pretty and tiny, you are also so brave, intrepid, and resilient. Rained on, sweated out, eating bugs, and non-stop adventuring and travelling. Just so fun, informative and amazing. You have brought attention to so many conservation aspects.
This is such a beautiful video maya. Thank you for making it and for educating us more about purple martins and how important it is to help these birds.

You are slowly becoming my favorite youtuber. Super cool video. The storytelling and and the editing and the fact that these bird migrate thousands of kilometers is insane! I love it
This is so good, genuinely almost made me cry. So I urge everyone to set something up, even if its small. And maybe I'll look into birds that are similar that I would be able to help out.

i camped in the amazon for 10 days and every day we saw an unimaginable quantity of purple martins flying around on the other side of rio negro, everyday it was magical, they make such beautiful forms in the sky, there was a hammock in a tree in the middle of the river and i swam there and watched them from so close, its crazy to know that they rely on human made nests in the us, no one there knew that
