considering there’s a torch for str, dex, fth & int, kinda would’ve been cool to see a ‘bloodflame’ torch for arcane and complete the set
Bloodflame for vitality(a unique one that uses a bit of your health to do major bleed in the classic flamesprayer style)
Frenzyflame for arc( AOE debuff that builds madness and reduces damage delt by a good 10 percent?)
@igknightlord63 why would a Frenzied Flame torch be Arcane scaling when every other Frenzied Flame effect is Faith scaling?
@@LexBetty I had to make something fit and that was the only effect that popped in my head. If you can think of some better choices for elemental/effect giving torches that fit those other attributes then do share I like coming up with new/quirky weapons and items and the closer they fit to the game the better

I mean we already have enough blood flame in the game tho. Literally the most saturated section of things in the game with many weapons and a larger cataloge of spells.
i like the ghostflame torch purely for aesthetics but the instant poise break on most cave enemies is just a bonus

Well you can learn a lot of things just by watching, and depending on your learning style you might learn a lot. When it comes to games like these though, since they make it looks so easy I think to myself "Oh I can definitely replicate their gameplay when I play the game next" but continue to get my ass handed to me

Yea same. I've found new ways to dodge certain boss attacks because of him.
Oh I definitely have gotten better. Before watching Gino I struggled on just about every boss. Had to use summons on freaking Godrick. After watching him play though I no joke got good. I can now beat the game in sub 2 hours and first try most bosses while under leveled and not getting hit.
I’m an extremely visual learner so just watching and listening helps me learn a ton.
I would laugh so hard if the Beast Repelling torch made the Elden Beast avoid you 🤣

A madness torch would have been really cool, the ash of war could be the eye where you get howl and anyone in line of sight gets madness build up

I was beginning to think Malenia was Gino's weakness, given that she consistently manages to kill him at least once while all others die hitless.
But then GinoMohgino stepped in and casually killed her using her own brother's torch.
Malenia is just that much harder than everyone else it seems.

Holy hell god bless these runs. I've always thought to myself "man I bet no one uses this weapon even though it'd be so cool" while playing these souls like games and just thank god these challenge runs. It's just so cool to see all the awesome weapon types explored, it's really fantastic content.
Also while I'm here, I absolutely love the editing style, the pop ups that detail what everything does are actually incredibly nice and on the runs where you outline goals/the procedure for making a specific weapon good also make the run that much more interesting. You’re so good. I watch you, Bushy, and Aggy, to try to learn the fights. You guys are incredible to watch. I have never beat the game. I’m terrible solo, so I just end up helping others. I have noticed a little bit of improvement, timing my dodges better instead of just spamming it, after watching you guys.

I know this may be controversial, but I think it's more fun to see you get hit a little in these runs. Seeing consistent no hit runs just got kind of monotonous after a little while.
I don't necessarily agree or disagree, but the videos where he's using the randomize mod kinda adds back that aspect of a "possible threat".
He's done a video or two playing Convergence and Reforged, but I'd definitely be interested if he made more of those!

Probably could be bought from a merchant after beating Mohg like Kalè or Patches. Or maybe just bought from the imprisoned merchant without having beat Mohg

I love the little details that from soft leave in like using using fire after using frost on someone resets the frost buildup
I did an Indiana Jones playthrough once. Used Whip and Torch. I used the weird magic crossbow as my pistol.
I'm no where near Gino's level of skill, though, so it was a rough playthrough for me.

Or maybe do one with a viewer or two, however many you can have, trying to do a challenge while keeping them alive? Love your videos and streams, Gino. Keep it up!
I have been watching Gino since almost elden ring uploads started, but just now subbed? I have finally seen the light.
I have accidentally cheesed the Ancestor Spirit. It was doing its phase into the ground teleport thing and i was rocking duel weilding 2 Golem Halberds and did a jump attack as it was close to done with the animation and it ended up teleporting somewhere under the ground and then fell to its death. It probably needs testing on ways to get it to happen consistently but its interesting. My theory is that either the weapons being what they are did a stagger thing which caused it to mess up where it teleported, got a riposte built up which caused the teleport malfunction, or it was specifically the timing with a downward ground slam type jump attack. It may be worth seeing if the Lions Claw skill does the same or is even more consistent than jump attacks since it does all three parts of my theory phenomenally so, yeah
This happened to me but I didn't even attack him. Sometimes his teleport just goofs up. Sucks because my first time fighting him he fell through the map in under thirty seconds lol

I'm a little sad that torches are only for style points or very niche uses (light source, scaring away beasts or seeing invisible enemies). I wish they were better in combat.

@@Rawrmuffin0 Because he's super over-leveled and over-upgraded. The point is that any other weapon in that situation would do way more damage.
I mean, torches aren’t meant to be used for combat. They are a source of light, that’s their intended function in life. It makes sense the devs wouldn’t feel the need to make them an actually viable weapon because they literally aren’t weapons.
@@tropicturtle9021 It's a fantasy game. They could easily have been made into decent weapons and nobody would bat an eye. The logic that "that's their intended function in life" does not apply to countless other things in the game.

Elden Ring is probably the most "alive" of all the worlds and some of the bosses have legitimate reasons for chilling where they are.

I have hundreds of hours in Elden Ring and I’ve still never fought a rune bear. They’re horrifying.
Out of all the souls game my favorite dragon bosses have to be placidusax and fortissax, midir is up there but I've never beaten it. A cool idea they could've done for a torch reposte would have been slamming the torch in and making it burn hotter for extra damage.

Rykard is an absolute menace for any kind of ‘weapon restriction’ run because he was designed to be fought with the serpent spear. Using anything else just turns the fight into a horrible slog.
