Cool, thanks for this info. I find that as I try more bourbons, there are some that I gravitate towards. I couldn’t originally put my finger on why, but turns out it was because of the wheat. So much smoother and less jarring to my palate. That makes my selections easier going forward.

You nailed it on the head. A wheated bourbon is going to be exactly that. Much easier on the pallet and much gentler experience overall.

Are Wheateds generally more expensive than Ryes?

R.Cas...great question. Some epic Bourbons are wheated...such as any Weller bourbon or Pappy Van Winkle. Those are certainly more expensive. But, Woodford is a Wheated bourbon and it’s a solid pour but very economical.

So secondary and primary grain are both corn? Makes no sense

In a “Wheated Bourbon” the secondary grain is “wheat” and primary grain is “corn”.

3:22 ...so the two ingredients of bourbon are corn... and corn. Lol
