    Followed your example, and the replacement on my 2007 Kia Sorento went perfectly. Thank you for sharing this.

      Greg did you do your own car the radiator? Any leaks at all when you were done? How was your lower radiator hose was it in good shape? I'm going to do mine today. What sucks is it's 30° out where I live and I don't have a garage.

    Thanks for posting this. Radiator on my 2008 just cracked. So I'll be doing the chore this week. I've done a radiator replacement before on my old Nissan truck. It was similar to this.

      Si se ase por el tapón del radiador ya que ayas terminado enciendes el motor con la calefacción encendida y le vas echando antifreeze no asta que se llene y tiene que salir la calefacción caliente va a tardar un rato asta que abra el termostato y también asegurando que la temperatura del motor no suba , ya que la temperatura esté en lo normal le rellenas el radiador lo tapas y pudes dejarlo ahí checando que no se caliente. Ya que se halla enfriado el motor le checas el nivel al radiador si necesita más o se está a nivel así es como yo lo e echo

    • @autothechgarage6268
      @autothechgarage6268  2 роки тому

      One is connected to the radiator and the other one that is connected next to the reservoir cap in just for the over flow one end is not connected to anything

    It seemed like there were more nuts and bolts on my car even though I have the same model to take off AC condenser related Nuts and Bolts. Also when you pull the radiator out the side tabs of the radiator get in the way of pulling the radiator out because of the AC condenser lines. I had to struggle with that for a while without bending those lines. Also the rubber stabilizers on the bottom of the radiator of my car were all rotted away and gone! I have to order those from Kia you can't buy them at auto parts store. They are 15 whopping dollars a piece. Also you have to take those brackets off the old radiator that holds these rubber bushings for the new radiator. When I went to Kia Parts online you can only email them about the parts you want or any questions and they will get back to you via email. What a joke. So now I have to wait for these bushings before I could put the radiator back in. Just a couple FYI tips extra. This is the last Kia I will ever buy. Not because they are hard to work on is because they are also a hot commodity in the city I live in getting stolen all over the city and smashed up! I guess the newer cars are easier to steal. Look up the history online if you ever decide to get a Kia again.

    When I start doing this in a couple days, do you know if it's a big deal to change the lower radiator hose in case it's soft or hard and cracked? Is it easy to get at the other end of it where the clamp is?

    • @autothechgarage6268
      @autothechgarage6268  Рік тому +1

      Is not a big deal bu I recommend be patient that way you don’t ripped it sometimes it gets stuck at the radiator just try to twist it with your pliers

    Got another question for you........those plastic "Air Guides" on each side of the radiator. What exactly do they do? I couldn't line mine up with the bolts, they kept falling down, so I left them off. Thanks in advance if you reply, or anyone else, Please? What is the purpose of these Air Guides??

    • @autothechgarage6268
      @autothechgarage6268  Рік тому

      Well there are guides on top and bottom with rubber those are to hold the radiator in place with the brackets and there are some others guides to hold the fan I believe not sure which you are referring to.

    I have the same exact Sorento but having a hard time finding a radiator with course thread on the transmission cooler lines. Can you tell me where to find that same radiator or a parts #. After two attempts, I'm only finding fine thread connections.

    Anybody have to jack up the car doing this, changing this radiator? Also you should refill with fresh antifreeze with the new radiator and don't use any of the old stuff correct?

  • @mylifeandhobby2716
    @mylifeandhobby2716 2 роки тому +1

    Do I have to worry about air bubbles when I refill

      Start the vehicle put heater on and start pouring antifreeze do not feel all the way always leave some space for the air to go out ice the heater starts to work it should be good. After that wait a few hours make sure is not HOT check antifreeze again to make sure is at the correct level

    Quick question for you. I know this is a long shot but I have a 2007 Kia Sorento that we are trying to replace the thermostat but can't find out where the housing unit is. Would you be able to help us locate it? We've tried all kinds of kia forums and even the kia website but have no luck finding any kind of manual for my particular car. Thanks.

      Hi I don’t have the car with me but just follow the radiator hoses to the engine usually is the one on top of engine that’s where should be hope that helps

      Hey Allison did you guys ever find out where the thermostat is located that’s my issues now. Only other thing I may see is the hose traveling from bottom or radiator up to engine near the front engine on filter side. Didn’t take hose off to check inside yet.

    • @LatitudeSky

      It is almost always where the top hose connects to the engine. Edit: but not on this car. Follow the LOWER radiator hose up beside the engine. It will turn right at a 90° angle and go into a metal fitting. The thermostat housing is there, behind the engine. You'll want to work on this on a cold engine. It looks about as annoying to work on as most thermostat housings. Unfortunately.
