those people that are saying this is not how to repair,. the repair is only half the problem. There’s also sourcing the parts that you need to install. I suspect that you also need specialist equipment like heat guns, which can be very finely adjusted to unbond the old spring hitch, I don’t think the average person off the street is going be able to do either of these steps, given there are literally hundreds, if not thousands of different models of spectacle
Welding a new spring hinge sounds awesome. I'm hoping my glasses are under warranty still. Nice video explaining what is done because welding is not in the cards for me today.

Prop open the spring, then the screw goes right in. Or use a tap screw that forces the barrels to align. Tip, it helps to be nearsighted and have nimble fingers. See a licensed Optician.

you would need a laser welding machine, a cutter/grinder and the right hinge. if you got those then you can start a eyewear repair shop.

or you get a rubber hose cut off a one inch piece apply super glue and slide both pieces in ....works every time ....you'll thank me later ...
Or a shrink wrap tube used for securing wire. Wrap it with tape first, then adjust the other temple to bend in more so they appear even. Licensed Opticians are the best.

Don't use superglue. Glasses lenses are made of polycarbonate and superglue fumes can damage plastic.
I work in frame repair, there is an easier way…and doesn’t take 1 hour……this is what we do to last resort . When we can’t take the other half of the spring hinge from the box…but never does it take 1 hour

This is exactly how my glasses are broken. But this is not a how to video and i would not be able to do it anyway without the tools and skills needed for the tools.

If the whole video is just to say send us your glasses to fix at least tell us how much a repair like that costs. I just bought new frames for 45 bucks so I can just swap the arm myself. Maybe if this video said they would fix it for $40 I would have when with this option.
