Picked up a 1962 Willie McCovey PSA 8 recently and am still buying Buster Posey auto cards in the $60 - $125 range. There is an endless supply of different Buster auto cards. Prices for high grade Mays, McCovey and Marichal have been holding steady. Did bust some Topps Chrome update and got a Patrick Bailey orange auto
My best recent card pickup was a 2008 upper deck sp six player game worn patch of Lebron, Kobe, Duncan, Kidd, Rasheed Wallace and, Garnet /65. Gonna grade that one and keep it in my collection.
People who buy and flip modern cards are always playing with fire. QB's are a terrible investment full stop. Just becuase some people make money on it does not make it a sound investment. There are players that are expensive for good reasons though. I have to disagree with your Luka take. You are trying to say a guy that puts up the 2nd most fantasy points per game is a bad invesment? He has world wide demand period full stop. Now is the time to buy the cherry cards of his that have declined a ton in value and would not be for sale at all if the entire market wasnt down. The same with all young stars of todays NBA. Guys that have a clear path to a HOF type career. Now is the time to buy RC's of Curry/LBJ/Brady/Mahomes/Luka/Kobe/Tatum to hold until the economy has money to blow again. Doncic already has historic accomplishments. Only missing an MVP and a ring which will come. Despite that his game is so unique and legendary he will always be highly collectible unless there's a scandal that tarnishes his stats.

Items still in their original packaging can go through the roof as collectors die for these items. Keep tromping the shit out of the pumpers and scammers in the hobby we enjoy! PS-Unless you’re really knowledgeable, stay away from rare Beatles records as most have been faked/ cloned many times over the years….
It's all just been like the 19th Century gold rushes in various parts of the US West. Like back then where 99% of the people that got rich were the ones selling the mining supplies, the only people that really got rich from cards were the grading companies.
Geoff didn’t get it right. That was not the time to think Will Grier was better. They were both terrible investments and still are. Today is still a better day to have Kyle Murray cards. Just don’t sell out. He’s got much more potential than a guy struggling to stay on a practice team,imo.

Been picking up Montana autos for $50. Also picked up a Montana-Young dual auto /6 for $80. Love the relatively cheap stuff for the PC. I’m a bit biased on Luka since I made a killing on his rookie cards. Sold a PSA 10 silver for $6K back in 2021 (my cost basis was $300). That sale alone paid for the Luka rookie autos in my PC. Been buying lots of his RCs now that they are cheap again (2019 prices).
I’m only buying Brady rookies rn. I don’t see how any of these young qbs can get close to what he has done. Don’t think I can overpay when a lot of his have dropped within striking distance to pre covid prices (contenders and sp authentic for example). I’m also convinced some of his stuff that hasn’t dropped is likely shilled (ie 2000 bowman chrome refractor). Been watching these since June and the bidding history on those are suspect particularly with probstein.
