Yes, this is weird compared to convention - but is "convention" the right way? Maybe if everyone would muster up the courage to "perform" their lives as they truly desire in their hearts we wouldn't view this as eccentric but beautiful, peaceful, elegant and liberating to her soul.

I was once extremely shy but age and experience changed that for me. She sure does give A LOT of interviews and shows and appearances and performances for a painfully shy person, I think she now uses her "shyness" as a performance piece.
I will say this, however: I really like the fact that she wears what she likes, considers it normal, and goes about her day :) That's a fanTAStic attitude! So whether she seems to be in fantasy or seems to others to just be realistically fashion-forward, I definitely believe in wearing what you think is comfortable and flattering for oneself; it doesn't matter what I or anyone else thinks.
Your two comments are so contradictory to one another. She's simply a wealthy aristocrat who is who she is and you are what you are. She is an actual artist and a musician as well but fashion has always been her way of expressing herself. Secondly, there is nothing wrong with fantasy. We live in a world now where people forget to dream and are constantly searching for reality.
@@jayrockhammer Nope, I'm simply allowing for the fact that there are many sides to all of us. One day we want to wear tunics and leggings, the next day we're all about jeans and a plaid shirt. I don't care for her particular brand of fantasy but my opinion won't stop her from doing it.
Oh yes these 'Rich People' can do what they want & and good for them.
But we expected to admire , trust or believe that they are in touch with something deeper
or meaningful just because they can indulge whatever fantasy that suits them?
I think she would be just as eccentric if she were poor or even middle class. She would be the hobo who dresses all in red with her hair piled on her head carrying a stick covered in coloured hair bobbins. Or the daughter of a bank clerk who rebels against the family tradition of finance and goes to art school. There are thousands of boring rich people who do nothing with their money except watch it grow in art they hide in vaults or in property where they charge tenants exorbitant rents. This woman invests in art yes, but the art is herself.
@@Elle_Gowing as i previously said ~ good for her & quite possibly if the luck of the draw hadn't been birth into a rich family then maybe the eccentricity towards free expression would have still been a calling ~ but money is mobility & therefore access to any fantasy.

in childhood or from adult experience we all have some type of Traumatic events that have occurred.
It's not the Trauma or what happened that ultimately matters.
It is the disconnection from self that permanently wounds the soul.

She has had people blowing smoke up her a*s since the day she was born. You too can look like her if you can afford to buy the art she wears. There is nothing, she wears other’s creations, on her or on her walls but don’t we all? Unless we create our own clothing and art. She has thrown more money into trying to be a musical success with the best of people Visconti for one but never achieved anything much. A little girl playing dress up and pop star, she has never matured, sadly for her she never will but is that a bad thing? Only if you are having to figure out how to earn enough money for your next meal something that is alien ( and that’s where the real alien in her and not the fantasy alien she tends to Mimic) to her and always will be.
I worked somewhere where she performed music two nights and both times she stormed in, made no eye contact with anybody, and ran straight to the green room. I thought it was rude and unusual, but now I understand. She is shy. I kind of feel bad for her. I feel that she really desire validation more than anything else, but she is pushed aside and not taken seriously because her life was seemingly handed to her on a silver platter.

You really get the feeling that she’s making music because her two best friends took their own lives and she doesn’t know how else to express herself, but at the same time her isolation makes it difficult to really connect with people and audiences that struggle to relate to the heiress of Guinness beer.
Well, I read one of the rare interviews she gave a couple of years ago... And she admitted she is a very much of an intorvert person - she doesn't like talk to other people and being in the company of strangers, so I believe in that, honestly.
its obvious that this woman doesn't really live in this world...she's interesting,decorative,magical and....plain.plain because there's nothing to hide beneath that armor of hers...its just a human being living her best life,without fear or judgement...she enjoys stuff,she enjoys herself...she is somehow whole....but also wounerable and sensitive....I can't put her in words,she's beyond them,it gives me shivers of joy just to watch her move and speak....very interesting entity...

Nonsense! The world is a great place for Europeans and North Americans. We live better than kings and queens lived just 100 years ago. A woman like Daphne Guinness does not have to worry about money and has a privileged life. Her bellyaching is absurd. Lots of people are shy. I am shy and I would NEVER have a video up or dress in Barney's window. So I guess she just full of shit and of herself.
"without beauty there is no truth". Without Daphne we would not see the beautiful works of art designers like Lee McQueen created. So for those that feel she should give money to those who need a leg up, she already does. She helps those without access to an education achieve their education. For those that say those negative things about her the only ugly thing I see is the rotten core of the person who wrote those words. Believe me, without people like Daphne there would be no art, no beauty, nothing amazing.. just the grey world of communism.
I guess the progressive stance on anti-bullying and supporting women only applies if the woman is poor or average. People could learn a lot about empathy from this gentle soul.

Guinness produces art and has a true understanding of art and its history as she was brought up into a wealthy aristocratic family. She is refined and educated and incomparable to that roach. Gaga will never measure up to such a woman of class and sophistication. Gaga may wear Givenchy, but Daphne's grandmother was best friends with him.
Both girls took these looks from Alexander McQueen so there's no "real lady gaga" here.

I don't get it. She says she isn't a performer, yet what was all that in the display window? She wasn't exactly doing an everyday bit such as brushing her teeth or cooking dinner, was she? Are we seeing what she'd be doing in her home on a typical day or was that a performance? I believe it ALL to be performance. If you "live in the moment" yet that moment contains aggrandized costume & artificial emotion then I don't believe you're living real moments; you're simply displaying a fantasy.
