I have a smaller zero turn but added a different seat with arm rest so it's taller. I get on mine about the same way but I use a 2x8 and have someone help me with my legs because my balance is so bad. I applaud you for still doing it yourself.
I am paralyzed as well - t11 - I too have a large yard to cut. I was thinking about getting this kind of mower. When you are done and getting off is any part of the front where boards are hot? You transfer fast. I imagine it would take me longer and want to avoid getting burned.
I'm an L1 and use the same type of mower. The other good thing about the zero turns is that the engine is in the back so there isn't anything hot in from of you to get burned on. What zero turns are not good for is a hilly yard so if you have a fairly flat yard you are good to go but I wouldn't risk it on hilly terrain. Just make sure you get one that doesn't require you to use your feet for lowering the deck or starting the blades because not all of them are the same. I get on and off similarly to her but I built myself a box that my wife then lifts off and sets on the ground until I come back into the garage to get off.

I own an older Cub Cadet garden tractor, and Im recovering from rotator surgery. I've been looking for an easier way to get on the tractor.
