True. If we only had one and not the other, the show would be weaker. Anne was my personal favorite protagonist. Star Butterfly was fine for the majority of SVTFOE but Marco was a more likable protagonist throughout the entire series. Then we got Finn and Jake. Both great protagonists in their own right.
personally i like anne way more as show really gets into details about her hobbies and her interests, this is why amphibia's ending feels more emotional because show really took it's time with it's characters
@@GAT957 Common misconception. Protagonist=Character we follow, the main character. Antagonist=Character that goes against the protagonist. Cipher's definitely the hero though.
Anne’s character development is so satisfying. In the start she was painful to watch, but while the episodes went it showed that Anne is a great person, she just needed some time to grow and show her true self. Season One is by far the worst season in my opinion, because while watching it I never knew the true meaning of the season. It built Anne’s character so well and it prepared her for a bigger story. She may not be perfect at the start, but she develops so well and the fact that having a whole season just developing her and her connections, makes Anne way harder to let go, that’s the reason why I think the show ended off so well, there was just so much to think about even after it was done.
i think the true meaning of season 1 is supposed to be about responsibility. on Earth, she could largely get away with doing stuff with her friends, but on Amphibia, her choices have far more influence, and therefore weight to them. im not too fond of the whole "wow thanks guys i learned something valuable today!", however. me, as a 17 year old, will not be getting anything out of the same morals being displayed time and time again. its repetitive, but i get why. when i was 13, i certainly made the same mistakes over and over again.
@@bearwithme5669i liked luz's arc better. She started kinda annoying with how over the top positive and weird she was, while staying likeable. but in season 2 she learned how to reign in the weirdness to be more likeable while still freely being herself. End of season 2 and season 3, we see how everything she has gone through made her think she was a mistake and everything bad that happened was all her fault. She loses alot of her positivity, before realizing people do still like her, bringing her back to being an optimistic goof ball, but not quite as much, being more likeable and still freely herself, as even though shes not as goofy, her personality isnt either. I think hers was the most relateable and satisfying character to watch grow.
I think the only reason I didn't instantly shoot down Amphibia was because the first episode I watched was 'Toad Tax', meaning my first impression of Anne wasn't the selfish, insecure, kid that we saw throughout the first half of season 1, but the caring and protective side of her. When I finally watched the first episode I knew right away that had I watched that episode first I wouldn't have given the show the time of day, and I'm glad that didn't happen.
That's definitely a strong part to start with Anne. she's definitely doesn't leave the best impression in the begging. But I'm glad to hear you got into the show 👊👊👊👊
@@bearwithme5669 Yeah, whenever people ask me how to get their friends into the show, I always recommend showing them bits of Toad Tax (not the fully episode) just so they can see Anne isn't a bad person
Gravity Falls, Amphibia, and The Owl House are all fantastic in so many ways, and all of them deserve the praise they get as some of the best animated shows. Great villains, amazing stories, fun and interesting main/side characters, and fantastic protagonists who the audience loves to watch grow. Personally, Anne is my favorite protagonist of the four, but it’s incredibly close choice with Luz and then Dipper and Mabel barely behind. They’re all just so good! Besides that, great analysis! I recently watched your video covering villains, which was also very well thought out and made many fair praises and critiques. Keep up the good content!
@@Gandolf_HitlerFair, but it ended in 2016 so I suppose it can still count as part of the last decade. But to make it more fitting, I’ll replace with “of the decade” to something less specific. They really are amazing shows, and it’s surprising to hear about how old Gravity Falls is now.
Gravity falls was the catalyst for the other two because both Dana and Matt (owl house and amphibia respectivley) got their starts storyboarding for alex
Matt Braley should have directed Star Wars sequels Cause remember in one episode where Anne took down all Agents ? A reference to Vader slaughtering Rebels in Rough One Let’s be honest Rough One is probably one of few good Disney Star Wars projects
You sort of glossed over it so I thought I'd bring it up- The fire in "Earth Anne's" shirt has a lotus pattern emphasizing her Thai background. Her outfit is also emphasizing her athleticism which has always been a big part of her character and isn't really communicated much in her other outfits .
For my favorite protagonist is 1st: Luz 2nd: Anne 3rd:Dipper and Mabel Owl house was the only one that exactly let Luz come back when ever she want the others they didn’t get to see each other
I’d like to say this in 7:35 of Amphibia season 3 escape to amphibia you can see a van driving by that says Mr.galaxy on it and it looked like Greg’s car from Steven universe
NO WAY YOUR SO RIGHT. I literally just checked out what you said and your definitely right. I'm actually watching Steven universe for the first time at the moment. so when I watched amphibia I never noticed. but man thanks for pointing that out that's really cool.
17:48 A cool thing about this scene, is that Luz is in the same position as Caleb in the second episode of season 3. Both giving a hard, cold glare, staring at Belos. Both killed by Belos. Caleb had a knife pointed toward his head whilst Luz had a light above her head. One came back to mock him, the other to end him. 25:37 put that down 🤨🤨🤨 1:03:13 it’s been found that there might be a new episode/episodes too
I grew up with gravity falls but decided to watch amphibia and the owl house recently and I love them all so much. The main characters especially I relate to them each in different ways and these shows r just awesome
The ways both Dipper and Mabel act is very much a coping method I say this since the new book leads into Dipper and Mables parents getting a divorce which makes sense since they were so eager to kick them out and dipper going on adventures and Mable looking for a boyfriend could just be a coping method.
I never saw amphibia....mistake...so I will just rank the other 2 1. Luz 2. Dipper and Mabel Dipper and mabel work very well as a pair, but not as well when they are separated. For luz, I absolutely adore everything about her. It can be a tad grating at first, but her boundless enthusiasm slowly getting ground away into apathy was chilling.
My favorite protagonist is dipper because he is the character i identify the most all out all others characters, he is the main reason why i love gravity falls so much ❤ Ps : i was waiting for this video + you can rank star butterfly or steven universe next time
54:33 Dipper’s flaw is that he wants to grow up too much, Mabel’s is that she doesn’t want to grow up at all. They both learned from their mistakes and faced adulthood together
My opinions Design: Pine Tree and Shooting Star (9/10) The number of Mabel's sweaters carry alone, but they can have meaning, not really as characters but more to what's gonna happen with the story. Anne (8/10) I love all of them, that chest plate was simple yet effective. Luz (7/10) Bear with Me covered what I would of said even if our scores are different Personality: Luz (8/10) I was very entertained with Luz, and I relate to her quirkiness too. Pine Tree and Shooting Star (8/10) While they're very funny entertaining and relatable, Mabel can get very annoying with Boy crazy stuff and how selfish she can get and it's more often then not never really addressed. Anne (8/10) While her selfishness and manipulative actions might be annoying, when we see where she most likely got them from as well them wearing off she became super likeable and she still has her quirks and culture. Motives: Luz (8/10) While her motive for getting home then helping her friends get home were great, her goal to become a Witch was pretty meh, mostly because of how late into the story we learned it, way past when she was trying to become a Witch so it felt somewhat pointless although I still liked it and it does enhance rewatch value. Anne (7/10) At first it's pretty simple yet effective, find Sasha and Marcy and find a way home, get as time goes on she and she bonds with Sprig Polly and Hop Pop, her goals end up flat out changing to get her second family home and save said home from a crazy king. Pine Tree and Shooting Star (6/10) While Dipper is more of an adventure type of guy who wants to dive into the future, Mabel is more focused on love and family, as well as keeping her childhood as long as she can as she's scared of the future Character Arc: Anne (10/10) While more traditional, it was so well done to see Anne go from a pretty selfish person who would let people climb all over her to see how wrong that is then learn to face what she fought was her role model but was really and toxic control freak, only to have to learn just how hard it can be to get water under the bridge, then learn to own up to misdeeds, and finally learning to let go of what you love for both her and her human and amphibian friends sake. So while more traditional, Anne proves this type of arc can still be super interesting. Luz (7/10) While very good it could have been better, she didn't feel as changed to me compared to some other characters I've seen. Pine Tree and Shooting Star (7/10) While Dipper had to learn to just take his time to grow up and enjoy his youth and Mabel has to learn to except change, Mabel is still pretty selfish and just does stuff even when told it's a bad idea and nobody really calls her out on it which leads to less growth, plus Dipper gives up a ton for her with little to no hesitation when he understands the details, but Mabel hesitated quite a bit when stopping Bill at the Sock play over a BOY! to which just the show took the more lazy way out and made said boy make out with his puppets, then she gave up the rift to Bill (Although we saw why she did it and her learning from it so I'll let that off the rant) and don't get me started on the Love God Actions/Impact: Anne (9/10) Her choosing to call upon the power of all 3 stones knowing without a shadow of a doubt she would die puts her on top alone, but her losing to Andrius wouldn't just result in her worlds destruction, but many other worlds as Andrius and the Core would use the loot from the Earth invasion to fuel more war, plus her standing up to Sasha didn't just save Wartwood, it made Sasha really have to question her ways as well as displace the Toads and put Grime on the run, and of course Anne giving forgiveness yet admitting how hard it is, which is something the Owl House never really explores. Pine Tree and Shooting Star (7/10) While neither gave up their lives, they put themselves at a far worse risk then Luz, while Luz fought to save the Demon Realm, Dipper and Mabel fought to save not just Gravity falls, but the universe as if Bill got free from the weirdness bubble he'd take over the entire 3rd dimension, removing the laws of reality altogether. Luz (7/10) While she didn't stop the Draining spell, she did stop Belos even if she didn't finish him or do it alone, and it was because of her many people started to stand up for themselves and help others do so, and her dying, she didn't think that would happen so it isn't saying too much. Conclusion: Anne (9/10) Where her story ends is nearly perfect, like her getting job about frogs to remember Sprig by, Sasha and Marcy coming to give her truly happy birthday after at the beginning of the show we saw what became of Anne's 13th B-day thank to those 2. Pine Tree and Shooting Star (8/10) While their character arks aren't the greatest the ending for the both the character and story arcs was amazing and very touching. Luz (7/10) A good one, and not really much I want to say about it Final scores Anne: 8 + 8 + 7 + 10 + 9 + 9 = 51/10 Pine Tree and Shooting Star: 9 + 8 + 6 + 7 + 7 + 8 = 45/60 Luz: 7 + 8 + 8 + 7 + 7 + 7 = 44 And just have to say, this is purely 100% my Anne Bias opinion, if you disagree, give me a good respectful comment on why. Also sorry for if any spelling and grammar mistakes were made Here are some of my opinions on Gravity Falls, The Owl House and Amphibia as wholes ranked from best to worst Story itself: Gravity Fall: As Bear with Me said the show lets the viewer engage with it's mystery to the point Alex Hirsh flat out made a fake leak of Fiddle Ford making the books just because people were getting too close to what the real author was. Amphibia: Not much to say other then if felt like a really great story. The Owl House: While last place for this, it's very close even with season 3 cut short World Building: Amphibia: The world of Amphibia feels so huge to me, like I'd say the world building is nearly on the same level as Avatar the Last Airbender. Owl House: Too it shockingly doesn't feel to big, as the show doesn't show really much long travel like Amphibia, plus aside from Separate Tides and Edge of the World, we never leave King's dads remains, which is a shame cause I came up with ideas for new Titans they could of explored and other world building stuff. Gravity Falls: While it felt like the town was big, it was still only in a small town, never leaving once, which works for the story, but cuts at world building The world: The Owl House: This is mostly because I'm a huge sucker for magic and the Owl House has one of the most creative magic systems I've seen, both with the Bial and glyph magic, even if many aspects of both types aren't 100% explored and have major room to improve. Gravity Falls: All the weird stuff happening in the town really is fun to watch. Amphibia: While the world feels huge, I do like the others better Last Episode: Amphibia: This had such a near tie with second place on this list but this one ultimately won due to the slightly more mature ending. Gravity Falls: Only in second due to Stan's memory returning and because with Amphibia the music box was destroyed which felt more mature and bittersweet. The Owl House: Watching and Dreaming was good, but not great, I still have many issues with it. Best Episode: Amphibia True Colors: This is easily one of my favorite episodes of any show I've ever seen, so much happens and it all led to one of few times I cried when watching a show. Gravity Falls Take back the Falls: This was something else, Bill's Defeat, Stanlay's fantastic sacrifice, Blubes and Durlin. The Owl House Hollow Mind: This was a dark concerning episode, it does suffer from us already knowing what Belos did and is gonna well enough. My issues with each show in no ranked order: Gravity Falls: Aside from the Love God and when Roadside Attraction was put out, I have no major issues with Gravity Falls. Amphibia: Mostly Anne and Sasha not taking it in what happened to Marcy in season 3, although I blame Disney for making Matt and the team have to lighten the tone. The Owl House: First off, episodes one and 8 are just bad, second, Belos death was super poorly done to me, third, For the Future should have replaced Kikifloora... I mean Sheeki... I mean Dor... I mean Kikimora with Bill and Tarak, Fourth in season 3 as a whole, nobody ever made the time to call out the Collectors connection to both the Trappers and the Owl Beast curse
WOW you put so much effort into this comment. thanks for taking the time to give your opinions. I like what you said about amphibia's world feeling bigger. I feel like we could have a whole new show in amphibia and still have so much of the world to explore. it was definitely a bit of missed potential not exploring other titans remains in owl house. But thanks again for comment it was really interesting honestly you could do your own video you put so much thought into it.
Did u read the offical gravity falls comics? U should their so good!! and mable bein slefish is finally adressed and explored ima not give too miuch away tho! And theres a adventure with little stan and ford, and dipper gets his own adventure with someone ;)
@@bearwithme5669 I'd do that, but I work best when I have something to work off of, your videos provide something to work off of to properly put my thoughts into words
My favourite protagonist out of these 3 is definelty Luz, because she is just so relatable in so many ways! And her journey to find her place in the world is something we all have experienced! Not to mention her depression arc is just so realistic and complex. Of course in the end she managed to surpass her guilt and embrace the one she wanted to be :) Simply amazing! Love her❤
I might have seen this very late, but in the area that Gravity Falls takes place in, there is a petrified statue of bill imbedded into the ground, as if the events in the show actually happened, but the creators made the statue as a little token of the show. Unfortunately though, it has been through some rough things. His hat got like, ants in it? And parts of him were broken and stolen.. thats all I really know about the statue
It’s hinted in the new gravity falls book that dipper and maples parents are getting a divorce which may explain why dipper starting look for the author of the journals and maple started looking for a boyfriend because it would take their mind out of the thought of how different their life’s will be
i feel like if TOH had been given more time, and a full S3, Luz would have had much better development in her future flashforward that was see, and we would have seen more of how she actually grew and changed.
I like this video and how you explained the stuff. Excellent work. That being said. Anne imo is 100% the best protagonist especially because she’s a stand alone, and personally even with Mabel and Dipper, she goes on a unique yet perfect example of a heroes journey
Another highlight of your channel (aside villains ranking videos) Probably one of reasons you have so many subscribers I mean the way you rank protagonists and villains is something unique wich was something never seen on other UA-cam channels
I love your video. You really went all out in analyzing these characters and I love it. By the way Mabel is my favorite. Anyway I have three main protagonist that I would like you to analyze: Twilight Sparkle from My little pony friendship is magic, Webby from Ducktales and Ahsoka Tano from Star Wars the Clone Wars. Please think about it.

Anne is amazing because at the start she's absolutely terrible and most people I know hate her personality at first but she grows through the show, and don't even get me started on how much I love the lessons about friendship
I love all three of these shows, but I have my personal favorite. Maybe it’s the me-being-a-middle-sibling, but Dipper gave up everything that made him happy for Mabel’s sake, and it didn’t even last a day. Meanwhile the one time something good happens to Dipper, being given the opportunity to become Fords’ assistant , she immediately decides he’s being selfish, and decides the only way to be happy is to trap her and everyone in Gravity Falls in a time loop, without any regard of anyone’s opinion or permission on it, and unintentionally gives a demon its opportunity to destroy her world, and gets trapped in a perfect world of her choosing. When her friends risk their lives to save her, she ignores realism to live out her fantasy. Anne is a very close tie. I liked her story, and the story of Amphibia overall. The only thing I dislike is that her sacrifice was basically meaningless. The Cosmic Guardian and clone-Anne while incredibly interesting and important, seemed like a bit of a copout to me. Her dying for her fiends and Amphibia would have been an amazing conclusion to her story. Though I understand that the target demographic, kids, would not have liked that ending. Maybe (again) it’s because I was (I graduated) a Hispanic high-schooler weirdo with small friends, with no understanding of sexuality, and lack of anything due to the pandemic, but I loved Luz and The Owl House. The story, the characters, and fandom and ships, and everything else in between was something I loved and needed. I would stay up til midnight or later to watch the episodes when they came out. I hated how Dana was forced to cut and conclude the story much shorter than it deserved, but I still loved how it ended. Luz’s story, the series as a whole, and everything else was SOOOOO good. The Owl House is my favorite show, and Luz Noceda is my favorite protagonist.
I probably should of criticized mabel more in the video. and yeah its so unfortunate that owl house got cut short. it really deserved better. But at least the writers still managed to give us a amazing ending despite being rushed. It just shows how talented they are. Hopefully dana gets to work on more shows maybe not related to Disney. anyway thanks for such a in-depth comment.
Im commentting these as i go through the video but i think luz deserved 10/10 on actions and impact While with dipper mabel and anne if they didnt go to their respective places nothing would've happened to them (andrius couldnt do anything and while bill couldve started weirdmaggedon he wont have ford to bust the gravity falls bubble) Meanwhile luz's arrival at the isles literally changed FOUR HUNDRED YEARS OF THEIR HISTORY id say that is a pretty big impact and without her belos wouldve eventually figured out the light spell like the other ones he did and killed the demon realm anyway with or without her, so thanks to her actions literally an entire planet got saved What im trying to say is while in the other two shows the villain needed the hero for their plans to succeed without luz belos wouldve done just fine as his plan didnt have anything to do with her
@@bearwithme5669 thank you! I just finished the anne section and i think you did really well there and its on point, will probably make another comment once i finish the video but im just salty dipper's basic design got higher score than the owlphibia girls
How about ranking pals/mentors to these protagonists? I mean, we've got Eda, King, Willow, Gus, and Amity in "The Owl House, Sprig, Hop Pop, Polly, Sasha Waybright and Marcy Wu in "Amphibia", and Soos, Wendy, Grunkles Stanley and Stanford Pines, Candy Chiu, Grenda Grendinator from "Gravity Falls". Yes, narrowing down will be necessary, but I thought it should be considered for a future video.
Another thing that isn’t fully perfect about Anne’s ending is that the cat god implies that the Anne we see after coming back to life is a perfect replica of Anne with her memories and experiences, and the real Anne we’ve been following the whole time is still dead.
@@kiandennislambujon36 the cosmic guardian never says that. It says that she’s a backup copy it made BEFORE the original Anne died, meaning that there existed two Annes briefly before one of them died, and this one isn’t the same. Also the wording of “for all intents and purposes the same” implies that they’re not exactly the same person. That’s my reading at least.
I do have plans for a cartoon network protagonist ranking but it might not be that order. I still need to watch T.A.W.O.G and I need to rematch regular show since I haven't seen it since I was a kid. but its a great suggestion. I also just finished re watching all adventure time related shows so ill be doing a video on them soon.
You should rank who the best protagonist caretaker is next. I am talking about like gruncle Stan, eda, and hop pop from the same three series. (I don’t think protagonist caretakers is really what you would call that title 😭💀 but you know what I mean)
49:40 as Alex said I think something about it being a hand me down from Mabel and dippers dad an I think Alex said he got it from a promotion from working at Microsoft but he never wore it an gave it to Mabel to grow into.
Owl house theory: what if she went into a coma after she open the door in the first episode, she fell down stairs or something and fell into a coma and everything was apart of her imagination
Personally, for me Dipper & Mabel are first place, no questions asked, and Luz is automatically last, Anne is an okay protagonist so 2nd place. Like you said, expect the scores are different. Dipper and Mabel are a maybe 57/60, Anne is 49/60 and Luz is 32/60
I do agree with your luz analysis however, the shoes in her s3 design do show a more joyful feeling and so do her pants however I think the fact her outfit is so mismatched in s3 and all over the place shows how tired she is and how much she doesn't care about little things like how to dress because shes too busy focused on getting rid of belos, so her random green pants, red shoes with stars are a contrast as is her dark jacket over her colourful shirt, its all opposites showing how much of a mess she is mentally.
Would anyone want the same crew behind these shows do a follow-up show of The Mitchells vs. The Machines as TMVTM was made by the Gravity Falls + SpiderVerse crew?
Anne. Pines brothers are ok and Luz had a bad writing in S1, but the character development for Anne and her relationship with Sasha and Sprig was just incredible
@@hannah_kincaid i agree. its also the perfect example of a reboot. it really improves on things the original did. it made some amazing character changes. it makes the triplets actually feel like different characters rather then just copy pastes of the same character like in the original. and webby is so much more interesting.
Guess what's even more underrated? STAR VS THE FORCES OF EVIL! It's such a good show! It's a little cringe at first but after that it's sooo goood! (Btw I still absolutely love the new DuckTales)
camila wasn't trying to make her fit in but to stop putting herself and others in danger its not like she was sent to the camp due to other neruodivergent traits like stimming figeting hyperfixations distractability etc yes she showed them her hyperfixation but it was less that she was showing them her hyperfixation but the way she showed she could have read them a fantasy book or showed them her anime music video but she instead decided to put herself and others in danger

@@rl9217 it doesn't make any less of labor of love
Gravity falls was the catalyst for the other two because both Dana and Matt (owl house and amphibia respectivley) got their starts storyboarding for alex
The moment you realize that these shows have a better character development then last 3 Star Wars movies
😆 True. those last star wars movies where so bad.
Matt Braley should have directed Star Wars sequels
Cause remember in one episode where Anne took down all Agents ?
A reference to Vader slaughtering Rebels in Rough One
Let’s be honest Rough One is probably one of few good Disney Star Wars projects
@@stefanloncar6868 could not agree more
@@bearwithme5669 as for SW sequels
We can all agree that they’re non canon
A tv show has time to do that
You sort of glossed over it so I thought I'd bring it up- The fire in "Earth Anne's" shirt has a lotus pattern emphasizing her Thai background. Her outfit is also emphasizing her athleticism which has always been a big part of her character and isn't really communicated much in her other outfits .
that's a good point. Yeah I skimmed it because the video was so long.
For my favorite protagonist is
1st: Luz
2nd: Anne
3rd:Dipper and Mabel
Owl house was the only one that exactly let Luz come back when ever she want the others they didn’t get to see each other
I’d like to say this in 7:35 of Amphibia season 3 escape to amphibia you can see a van driving by that says Mr.galaxy on it and it looked like Greg’s car from Steven universe
Just realized I should have put this in the universe connections… whoops
NO WAY YOUR SO RIGHT. I literally just checked out what you said and your definitely right. I'm actually watching Steven universe for the first time at the moment. so when I watched amphibia I never noticed. but man thanks for pointing that out that's really cool.
17:48
A cool thing about this scene, is that Luz is in the same position as Caleb in the second episode of season 3. Both giving a hard, cold glare, staring at Belos. Both killed by Belos. Caleb had a knife pointed toward his head whilst Luz had a light above her head. One came back to mock him, the other to end him.
25:37 put that down 🤨🤨🤨
1:03:13 it’s been found that there might be a new episode/episodes too
I grew up with gravity falls but decided to watch amphibia and the owl house recently and I love them all so much.
I never saw amphibia....mistake...so I will just rank the other 2
1. Luz
2. Dipper and Mabel
Dipper and mabel work very well as a pair, but not as well when they are separated.
For luz, I absolutely adore everything about her. It can be a tad grating at first, but her boundless enthusiasm slowly getting ground away into apathy was chilling.
My favorite protagonist is dipper because he is the character i identify the most all out all others characters, he is the main reason why i love gravity falls so much ❤
Ps : i was waiting for this video + you can rank star butterfly or steven universe next time
thanks for waiting this video took me so long to finish. also thanks for the suggestions.

My opinions
Design: Pine Tree and Shooting Star (9/10) The number of Mabel's sweaters carry alone, but they can have meaning, not really as characters but more to what's gonna happen with the story. Anne (8/10) I love all of them, that chest plate was simple yet effective. Luz (7/10) Bear with Me covered what I would of said even if our scores are different
Personality: Luz (8/10) I was very entertained with Luz, and I relate to her quirkiness too.
Pine Tree and Shooting Star (6/10) While Dipper is more of an adventure type of guy who wants to dive into the future, Mabel is more focused on love and family, as well as keeping her childhood as long as she can as she's scared of the future
Character Arc: Anne (10/10) While more traditional, it was so well done to see Anne go from a pretty selfish person who would let people climb all over her to see how wrong that is then learn to face what she fought was her role model but was really and toxic control freak, only to have to learn just how hard it can be to get water under the bridge, then learn to own up to misdeeds, and finally learning to let go of what you love for both her and her human and amphibian friends sake. So while more traditional, Anne proves this type of arc can still be super interesting. Luz (7/10) While very good it could have been better, she didn't feel as changed to me compared to some other characters I've seen. Pine Tree and Shooting Star (7/10) While Dipper had to learn to just take his time to grow up and enjoy his youth and Mabel has to learn to except change, Mabel is still pretty selfish and just does stuff even when told it's a bad idea and nobody really calls her out on it which leads to less growth, plus Dipper gives up a ton for her with little to no hesitation when he understands the details, but Mabel hesitated quite a bit when stopping Bill at the Sock play over a BOY! to which just the show took the more lazy way out and made said boy make out with his puppets, then she gave up the rift to Bill (Although we saw why she did it and her learning from it so I'll let that off the rant) and don't get me started on the Love God
Actions/Impact: Anne (9/10) Her choosing to call upon the power of all 3 stones knowing without a shadow of a doubt she would die puts her on top alone, but her losing to Andrius wouldn't just result in her worlds destruction, but many other worlds as Andrius and the Core would use the loot from the Earth invasion to fuel more war, plus her standing up to Sasha didn't just save Wartwood, it made Sasha really have to question her ways as well as displace the Toads and put Grime on the run, and of course Anne giving forgiveness yet admitting how hard it is, which is something the Owl House never really explores.
Luz (7/10) A good one, and not really much I want to say about it
Final scores
Anne: 8 + 8 + 7 + 10 + 9 + 9 = 51/10
Pine Tree and Shooting Star: 9 + 8 + 6 + 7 + 7 + 8 = 45/60
Luz: 7 + 8 + 8 + 7 + 7 + 7 = 44
And just have to say, this is purely 100% my Anne Bias opinion, if you disagree, give me a good respectful comment on why. Also sorry for if any spelling and grammar mistakes were made
Here are some of my opinions on Gravity Falls, The Owl House and Amphibia as wholes ranked from best to worst
Story itself: Gravity Fall: As Bear with Me said the show lets the viewer engage with it's mystery to the point Alex Hirsh flat out made a fake leak of Fiddle Ford making the books just because people were getting too close to what the real author was. Amphibia: Not much to say other then if felt like a really great story. The Owl House: While last place for this, it's very close even with season 3 cut short
World Building: Amphibia: The world of Amphibia feels so huge to me, like I'd say the world building is nearly on the same level as Avatar the Last Airbender. Gravity Falls: While it felt like the town was big, it was still only in a small town, never leaving once, which works for the story, but cuts at world building
The world: The Owl House: This is mostly because I'm a huge sucker for magic and the Owl House has one of the most creative magic systems I've seen, both with the Bial and glyph magic, even if many aspects of both types aren't 100% explored and have major room to improve. Gravity Falls: All the weird stuff happening in the town really is fun to watch. Amphibia: While the world feels huge, I do like the others better
Last Episode: Amphibia: This had such a near tie with second place on this list but this one ultimately won due to the slightly more mature ending.

My favourite protagonist out of these 3 is definelty Luz, because she is just so relatable in so many ways! And her journey to find her place in the world is something we all have experienced! Not to mention her depression arc is just so realistic and complex. Of course in the end she managed to surpass her guilt and embrace the one she wanted to be :)
Simply amazing! Love her❤
I might have seen this very late, but in the area that Gravity Falls takes place in, there is a petrified statue of bill imbedded into the ground, as if the events in the show actually happened, but the creators made the statue as a little token of the show. Unfortunately though, it has been through some rough things. His hat got like, ants in it? And parts of him were broken and stolen.. thats all I really know about the statue
It’s hinted in the new gravity falls book that dipper and maples parents are getting a divorce which may explain why dipper starting look for the author of the journals and maple started looking for a boyfriend because it would take their mind out of the thought of how different their life’s will be
All Of Them (Luz💜, Anne💙, Dipper🧢 and Mabel🌟) Are PERFECT!!!
Three shows, Three masterpieces, one great video

i feel like if TOH had been given more time, and a full S3, Luz would have had much better development in her future flashforward that was see, and we would have seen more of how she actually grew and changed.
You helped everyone here- talking about the pines twins
I like this video and how you explained the stuff. Excellent work.
That being said.
Anne imo is 100% the best protagonist especially because she’s a stand alone, and personally even with Mabel and Dipper, she goes on a unique yet perfect example of a heroes journey
thank you. I nearly put Anne as number 1 but i thought maybe I was being biased since I'm re watching amphibia again.

Anne is amazing because at the start she's absolutely terrible and most people I know hate her personality at first but she grows through the show, and don't even get me started on how much I love the lessons about friendship
21:47 It’s more Super Saiyan Blue from Dragon Ball, but you get a pass for saying you don’t watch anime
thanks for the pass
Im commentting these as i go through the video but i think luz deserved 10/10 on actions and impact
While with dipper mabel and anne if they didnt go to their respective places nothing would've happened to them (andrius couldnt do anything and while bill couldve started weirdmaggedon he wont have ford to bust the gravity falls bubble)
Meanwhile luz's arrival at the isles literally changed FOUR HUNDRED YEARS OF THEIR HISTORY id say that is a pretty big impact and without her belos wouldve eventually figured out the light spell like the other ones he did and killed the demon realm anyway with or without her, so thanks to her actions literally an entire planet got saved
What im trying to say is while in the other two shows the villain needed the hero for their plans to succeed without luz belos wouldve done just fine as his plan didnt have anything to do with her
dam that's a really good point. I didn't think of it like that at all. I really like this take 👊👊👊
@@bearwithme5669 thank you! I just finished the anne section and i think you did really well there and its on point, will probably make another comment once i finish the video but im just salty dipper's basic design got higher score than the owlphibia girls

Another thing that isn’t fully perfect about Anne’s ending is that the cat god implies that the Anne we see after coming back to life is a perfect replica of Anne with her memories and experiences, and the real Anne we’ve been following the whole time is still dead.
Yes she is a replica of her PHYSICAL STATE, her original soul is still there.
@@kiandennislambujon36 the cosmic guardian never says that. It says that she’s a backup copy it made BEFORE the original Anne died, meaning that there existed two Annes briefly before one of them died, and this one isn’t the same.
