Thank you so much. Your videos are top shelf. Do have any of the tiny lanterns like the 222A? I want one for backpacking and I don't know which is the best choice. Thank you have a great weekend.
Thanks for your comments. I did have a couple of 222A lanterns at one time. They are pretty bright and fool proof lanterns. Not sure I would take one back packing but car camping with limited space they are ideal. I traded one for a Milspec and another for a 242b. I really didn’t use them that much. The tank is small and you would have to fill them up 1-2x a night.
Sure thing. This is JDM Seiko Model 6R15-02R0 - 480027. 38mm, 23 Jewel Movement 6R15C. Automatic with hand wind capability. The numbers on the face a even. 2, 4,6,8,10, 12 which is a bit oddball. The bracelet is okay. It could be better bit it works just fine. Cheers.
I have a friend who is chemically sensitive and she doesn’t like any smells around her. Would you say that a white gas Coleman lantern has less odor than a kerosene Coleman lantern? Thanks!
Thanks for commenting. Coleman Fuel (aka White gas, Naphtha) is a cleaner burning and has less odor than Kerosene. Kerosene is sooty and it also requires preheating since it has a higher flash point. My wife doesn't like any of my kerosene lanterns and prefers me to not light them up when she is around. In an open air environment my wife is okay with white gas. cheers
I have just received a 242k couple of questions, first my one doesn’t have the pricker wheel it’s dated 5/35 is that normal and second I’ve put a 21 mantle in it,is that ok or should I be using a 99 many thanks
Hello, It's hard to say what is going on there. 1935 was the last year there were made so it may be a parts issues. It also could have snapped off and someone replaced it with a normal 242B tip cleaner. It may not be a 242K, it could also be a 242A. Does it have a Kero generator and pre-heat cup? As for the mantels, either of those will work fine but I find the Peerless Mantles 2C-HG - M01 work the best. Cheers
It's pretty common in developing countries where electric ⚡ power is unreliable or non existent. I know because my parents used one when I was little in the Philippines.
Thanks for showing the lighting procedure. Looks like a lot of fun!
You’re welcome. Glad you liked it. Cheers.
Hello, I have a 242B from the 50's. How and where could I get that box? Thanks
I made that box. Please have a look at my Coleman playlist on how I make these boxes. Cheers.

Nice Lantern, where can we buy the coleman book?
Thanks. I got my book from Old Coleman Parts but they are now sold through The International Coleman Collectors Club Website. Cheers
2:48 Nice watch. Please tell us which model Seiko watch that is. Thanks!

Very nice and not a very common model, the collar should also have 2 slots, not 1 like a regular 242
