There are selfproclaimed historians in Maharshtra like Indrajeet Samant who tries to paint Ch.Shivaji Maharaj secular by saying he did not fight for his Dharma but "Maharastra dharma" (there is nothing like it, maharastrians are proud Hindus) as he says..He wore Kavdi maal..His flag was bhagwa..he worshipped Tuljabhavani, the war cry was "har har mahadev" and " jai bhavani jai shivaji"!!such people wants to put a taint on the glory of Maharaj!! They even refuse to call Ch.Sambhaji Maharaj as "Dharmaveer" who refused to convert to Islam at the cost of his life! Such people nothing but traitors and parasites!

Only a secular king can hold 18+ different castes and treat them like family, including castes from different religions. It's just hard to accept with a heart full of hatred! Under Hindu Dharma itself, lower-caste people are not allowed to visit temples. He fought with adjustment family members, forgetting about religion. At that time, the so-called guardian of Dharma refused to accept him as a Kshatriya, and no one wanted to perform his coronation. Why are we ignoring the importance of Malik Ambar? He was the general of Ahmadnagar Sultanate when Shiv Rai’s father Shahaji was part of the Admadnagar Sultanate. Malik Ambar was the general to use the guerilla tactics which were successful against the Mughal army. The Maratha Empire used the same tactics to defeat the Mughals. Our historians need to do a better job in finding the links between Shiv Rai’s father and Malik Ambar.
