- I'm really excited about this video, as this is my first male vocal range video. Which for me is a shocker, I've made over 100 videos and I can't believe this is my first male video. Well I plan on changing that and making more male vocal range videos in the future. Anyways this is the vocal range video for R&B superstar Trey Songz. I think he's a really good vocalist. He does have some technical issues but for the most part he's really good and I love how you can always see how he's heavily inspired by R. Kelly. Hopefully everyone enjoys.
Low Notes: E2, F2, F#2, G2, G#2, A2, Bb2, B2, C3
Belted Notes: F4, G4, G#4, A4, Bb4, B4, Eb5
Falsetto Notes: D5, Eb5, E5, F5, G5, G#5
P.S. Trey does have F#4 belts but I got kinda lazy, since I kept finding lots and lots of G4's.
LOL at people calling him a Dramatic Tenor. His voice is not big, bold, heroic, or metallic. He's a Light-Lyric Tenor with a darker than usual color.
ThePianoguy89 If He isn’t, then who is an example of a Dramatic Tenor? Are there any in pop music or even just UA-cam singers?
He isn't tenor. His voice is lower. But I can't say clear(baritone or bass). Basses have D2 and C#4 in head register (register breaks can help to understand voice type). Lowest notes for baritone approximately F2-F#2. But falsetto notes tells He is bass(D4 is head register).
@@Kurdyukov87pianist thank you 🙏 finally someone who understand voices
No way! He's a tenor for sure. His lower register is very wide. And his falsetto is crazy
I love his voice!
His strongest notes are G2-Bb4, which is a Dramatic Tenor's range. If his strong guest notes were G2-G4, then he would've been a lyric Baritone. However, this video shows that he's in deed a Dramatic Tenor.
SimplyMJ his voice is lyric and not big. Lyric baritone with a high tessitura
I looooove Trey Songz !!! His songs are so HOT lol, what is the first "E2" song please I know another version of "Inside" but don't know this one
inside pt2 of anticipation2
hope not too late
sounds like a lyric baritone to me. him and r.kelly both baritones
Definitely not
He is a true tenor
This is great; you should do an updated video of his vocal range! I'm not an expert but to me his vocals seem to have improved over the years. His "Life On Mars" cover was good too
Awesome video! Do you think you could do "Kevin McCall"? Cuz there are a lot of tenor/high baritone artists in the industry but he has a real solid baritone.
Thanks ^^
He sounds like a light-lyric tenor to me. His timbre and tessitura suggest that.
There is a C6 In ''Gotta Go'' and a fry note (not sure) in ''Girl At Home''
Dramatic Tenor with the vibrato
Y’all should do one on Childish Gambino because he go psychotic one all his tracks he sing on.
He not a baritone he gotta be low tenor/tenor
Baritone
Naw
his timbre is dark and has too much weight to be a tenor. many baritones have great falsettos like john legend.
Dramatic tenor? LOL
It's Inside Interlude from his Chapter 5 album.
That E2 and Eb5 is fraud as hell lol. Some of those G#4's were A4's. His B4 is pretty weak. But he mixed a nice C#5 in "Smart Phones". Trey is obviously a baritone, notice the change in registers after his F#4, that's a baritone's break.
M2SA belting is when you sing past your voice's break. So in this video his A4, Bb4,B4, those would all be belted notes. You can belt in your chest voice or in your head voice. Most pop singers belt in chest voice though.
M2SA The best way to belt is to breathe from the diaphragm. There is a correlation btween belting and mixed voice. A lot of vocal teachers will tell you to belt in your mixed voice because it's easier on your vocal chord. I haven't mastered mixed voice yet to be honest
M2SA usually the person who make the video will tell you if it's mixed voice or not. If it's a studio vocal range, you can assume it's probably chest voice
Dramatic Tenor ? His Timbre is Bright , his vibrato is unique so that may lead to confusion about his Vocal type a true baritone like say a Tyrese it's a noticeable difference between Trey n Ty and Tyrese is a lyric baritone , a baritone would kill his damn self tryna sing in the 5th octave lol
Hes R&b not Pop.
He a baritone
Can someone tell me the song with the low A2 in it? Please and Thank you!!!!!
In What Song Is The E5?
And The F2?
And The F#2
And The second and third G#2
And The A2?
Great video, but that Eb5 belt was not legitimate. That was so short and it sounded like a crack, not a controlled note.
Tracklist complete plz >.
i think the first note is an f2 not an e2
It is in fact an E2. Play it at 0.25x speed and you’ll hear it starts at E2 and goes into an F2.
Falsetto dnt count as a part of your vocal range
B B yes they do
he sounds like R kelly
Ain't he a spinto tenor
3.25 octaves? Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell no.
😂😂😂
