I remember those days. The mismatched dishes and cups, the second hand furniture, just trying to be creative with what you had and where it went. Brings back lots of sweet memories. Welcome home guys!!
True for most of us, i guess. We married 33 years ago. We were gifted a fridge freezer and washing machine from my parents. A cooker, hoover and bed from my in-laws. We bought cutlery, dishes and glasses cheap from Ikea. Moved into our house , after our honeymoon, and had no other belongings. 😂 Easy to clean!!
We bought a 2nd hand sofa and chairs,( it was horrible but cheap) dressers and wardrobes. We worked full time, both as Nurses, but our utility bills and mortgage had priority over furniture. We were so, so happy in that little house, and welcomed both of our sons home there. Were still so happy. Building a home takes time but is joyful
My dishes are still mismatched and I am retired at 62 years old.
Absolutely love what you've done with the apartment. It looks so much brighter and cleaner after painting the walls.
You say everything went wrong, but how come you give me peace of mind, fill my heart with hope and give me the courage to take the step of looking for a new home?

The walls look so much better painted white. It looks like a different place. It actually looks bigger too. That was alot of painting to do. Glad you saved that pretty kitty cat too. Hopefully, you all can live here for a while and settle in and relax a little bit. 😺 what a beautiful view from the window!!

Another fabulous snippet of your lives. Look at Agatha and how good she is at 'mucking in' helping to sort out the new (and gorgeous) home. The white paint is great and that view that you have from the window would take a lot to beat. Your new cat is madly in love with you .. and rightly so. With everything going so well the only thing I hope for is that your noisy neighbours don't bother you in any serious way.
The thing the cat ws doing with its paws, we call it making biscuits. It looks like they're kneeding buscuit dough. ❤
I have moved many times. The kitchen is always the first room I get settled along with the bathroom and beds. I feel if you can be clean, well fed and rested, the rest can come slowly but surely. You accomplished a lot in just a couple of days. Very best of luck and blessings in you new home.

I love watching you, your husband and your two girls go through life! Your family has so much love! I wanted to tell you in case you care. I put my cookbooks in my kitchen pantry window and now the covers are all faded where the sun touched them. Didn’t want that to happen to your children’s books if that is something that would upset you.

The white paint made a big difference. And I laughed at the kettle being such a priority because once I got one, I can't not have it. I also save useful jars and I have some little tin containers from some instant coffee I've been buying.

It's good to see that you've been able to settle in and you'll surely make your new home more and more comfortable and welcoming as time goes on. The owner will surely be delighted if she ever sees all the renovations you have done.
Finally, congratulations to you and thank you for your kindness towards your new pet: this cat seems really affectionate and we can see that he is grateful to you for having saved him from the dogs but also from the life of a stray cat in the street. He seems to adapt really well both in the house and in your family and even with your first cat and your rats.
Your cat looks young but remember to have him sterilized, otherwise he may want to mark his territory by spreading his scents all over the house or on your belongings at one time or another. Finally, sterilizing your two cats will reduce the risk of arguments between them as this can sometimes happen.
The joy you are capable of creating from minimal resources is so inspiring. I have been struggling as a first time mother in my current apartment and you are inspiring me to change my perspective and make the most of everything. Have a blessed nativity season.

Hi Victoria - The walls look so bright and cheery now. Moving is always a big change.
My son is in the process of moving from a 3 bedroom condo with basement & one car garage to an upper apartment in an older house in our downtown area.
He lived in the condo unit for 20 years but has 30 years of accumulated stuff and furnishings.
It’s a good thing he doesn’t have a family to move too. He’s been storing some things at my place but donating many other things to charity.
He had to downsize because of our current economy and employment layoffs. Understand about your teakettle as I drink a lot of tea as well. I like coffee but medically can’t have it.
You do a wonderful job with the children and moving and so on and new kitty (I have 3 elderly rescue cats).
I greatly admire you and your hubby and your perseverance and cheeriness. You are a very positive inspiration!

I’ve never related to a UA-cam video more. I just moved and my apartment looks even worse than that. A lot of stuff went wrong during the process😅 seeing this has been a great comfort to me and I feel ready to tackle the mess…some of it at least…❤

Hi Vika. It looks like you are settling in quite well. The ginger cat is so affectionate. ❤ The girls have lots of space to move around. I love the view from the windows so much. Exceptional. My husband and I live in a block of three units in Australia. We are in the middle. The last unit is empty at the moment because the lovely elderly gentleman who lived there is now in a nursing home but in the first unit is another old man who is just awful. Arrogant ignorant you name it. He always has his tv loud. We have decided to make the largest wall that backs onto his unit more soundproof by adding soundproofing and make it a timber feature wall to block his wretched tv noise. Horrible human being. Good luck with the rest of the organising. I love the sofa and chair. looks comfortable.

My grandpa made a magnetic strip under the shelf and put spices in them in the house and in the garage he did strips and put screws, washers and such...very organized and cute.
