To MMA viewers who watch this video, Steve Grandeza later became a kickboxing champion and a Jiu Jitsu medalist. So don't try to write anything foolish in the comment section to tarnish his name and fighting abilities. He is a legit instructor.
@@combatsportsarchive7632 Thank you for your kind & wonderful remarks
Please, seeing you have had a lot of succes. What would you say is the best to learn for self defense?
A top 3 with reasoning if you would be so kind.
It's sad that you have to make this comment. Modern MMA & Jiujitsu people can be SO disrespectful & dismissive of EVERY OTHER Martial Art style on the planet except their own. 🙄 it's ridiculous. But I appreciate the video and the hard training and competition this Master/Fighter/Martial Artist has gone through.
Thanks for sharing this video
Now this is karate.
@alter5057 Check out Richard Trammell from U.S Shidokan Karate. He is also a very skilled practitioner of Tang Soo Do and Taekwondo who kicks ass in their knockdown kumite. Though their bareknuckle format is not the same as Kyokushin's version as they allow grabbing methods with the Gi, throws, takedowns and arm locks for groundwork since the founder sought a more open ruleset.
HOLY COW!!!!!
This is very rough and real😮
Tumatapat din pala other styles sa Kyokushin, ayos yan.
So this was an event in Philippines? I don't know if USA had such cool stuff going on in the 90's with Korean martial arts.
@@MaharlikaAWA Hi , yes this is in the Philippines. Full contact fighting started way back in the 70s . This was initially organized by my Grandfather GM Casimiro " Chingi" Grandeza. Then, eventually continued by my father Master Edgardo " Bing" Grandeza.
Thank you .
@@stevegrandezaGSD all Tang Soo Do?
@@MaharlikaAWA Nope, it is open to all styles.
@@stevegrandezaGSD that's what I thought. But was the instructor in this video a Tang Soo Do guy?
@@MaharlikaAWA Yes , he is my father. The person who was responsible in spreading & bringing Moo Duk Kwan Tang Soo Do Soo Bahk Do in the Philippines is my Grandfather.
Hmm this looks more like Tang Soo Do than take kwon do.
Moo duk Kwan taekwondo ❤❤❤❤❤
Te Kwon do ganando a otros estilos. La cámara rápida hace la magia
If whatever kind of traditional martial art you study ( karate, kung fu, wing chun, etc., etc., etc., ) doesn't do this kind of sparring it is bullshido. All the one step, 'this technique will immediately incapacitate an attacker', stuff goes out the window. This is legitimate martial arts training. It doesn't look all pretty like practicing flawless forms and one step drills where the attacker works with you to make the magical technique work.
You don't understand martial arts and UFC, MMA matches are less real than you think.
You are right. He doesnt. But his opinion *does* have some relation to a Valid critique of many traditional martial arts systems, At least regarding how they're trained these days. @andrepaige9669

😊good Moodukkwan from Master Tiger Thompson Taekwondo moodukkwan las vegas
Quick question if they're a real kyokushin fighter why can't they endure those strikes during grappling?
I think because on the ground his body cannot recoil from the strike and must absorb the full bow
That's Tang Soo Do/ Soo Bakh Do, not Karate..
the competition was fullcontact karate rules
You couldnt be more wrong. Theyre both "korean karate" and based on shotokan
@alter5057
Vergonha. Para. O. Kiokushin. Ja. Que. Se. Dizem. Tao. Fortes
The referee is counting in Korean. This is not karate
This is Taekwondo, not Karate
