Attack In Broad Daylight | He Didn’t See This Coming

- I heard screaming then this happened. It all happened so fast. Hadleee and myself set a trap to try to catch some wild predators like coyotes. The coyotes have been surrounding our homestead for a long time and it was time to take action against them, but what we caught this time was not what we thought we would catch. Our neighbor will be mad but its their how fault.

I said crazy a lot lol sorry about that, just got excited. We hope that creature don’t come back.
The dog looked like a Corso.
I think it would make a cool T-shirt you would sell lots of them
I think it could have some Pitbull terrier mixed with something else.
I pray it doesn't come back and there is no more like it.
😂🤣 You say crazy many times in all your videos. To me it’s your favourite word.
Your girls and your animals safety has to be your first priority always. Love your videos ❤️
You are correct in all you said. You are not responsible for other people’s animals. You are responsible for protecting your animals and family.
You're living real life, nothing to apologize for. Thanks for sharing your experiences!
I feel bad for any stray dogs in general. But you have young girls to protect. You've gotta protect them above all else.
Exactly that poor stray was just HUNGRY😢
So sad help it but instead, the excitement of killing is in their veins.
Not mean hungry and scared.
A poor hungry scared stray can still be very dangerous. They could attack you out of fear. When they realized it was a dog, they talked about setting him free. It just so happened, that he managed to free himself first. And in the woods where they are you don't know if the dog got lost from his home (so might be somewhat friendly) or if he's been wild so long he taken up with coyotes. You just don't know. A stray went for my 3 year old nephew. My bro-in-law had no choice but to shoot it.
Not only are you protecting your livestock but you are protecting yourself but also your wife and your daughters. Behind you 100% on what you are doing.
You do what you gotta do to protect your family and animals. GOD BLESS Y'ALL
Man you people posting this nonsense are going to extremes like Coyotes & a dog have done anything wrong. The coyotes & that dog were no where near his animals! Look where he keeps his mini horses! No grass for grazing just a big mud pit for hoof & mouth disease!
By all means, give him an excuse.
Set your traps, Sorry people has to be done
@truthteller9071 while you are definitely entitled to your opinion try to think of how you would feel about coyotes that by nature prey on the old and weak pets of people that don't live in neighborhoods. How would you feel if a 12 year old Golden Retriever you loved with you entire heart and soul from 8 weeks old was eaten by coyotes. I know how that feels that said I still personally don't use traps. I hold no malice to those that do. Walk in their shoes before you go off the deep end with your criticism of something you do not or refuse to understand. Not a big fan of coyotes but love all dogs, especially my dear friend
I had an outside dog and something broke into his doghouse and
killed him ! 👈😵💫 he was locked in every night ! 🔒
I found him in the morning barely alive ! 😡 👇 and still to this day I don't know what did it ! 🫣
Thanks for sharing. If it were me, I'd let the neighbors know of my plans to set traps and explain why. This way they can ensure their dogs aren't running loose. When I lived on a farm, this was our routine.
Some one with some common sense in the comments finally ^
Dealing with predators is part of homesteading, you’re living amongst the wild. You have every right to protect your family and livestock. If people cannot handle it I agree don’t watch it. People romanticize about homesteading and think it’s certain way. This is real life homesteading here. It’s not always easy.
Dutch is keeping it real.
Thanks for sharing. Take care, see ya :)
Don't move to the country then start killing the wild animals.
During the growing season me and my dogs patrol the corn vegetable plantings at night
Your working hard to protect your family and your farm from predators, that’s a good thing! Thank you for keeping us updated, stay safe, you all take care 🤗💕!
Randy should probably keep his dog on a leash to keep it from getting caught in that trap.
Exactly right these traps will catch and hurt anything good or bad and Randy’s dog is a good example.
@@lindapulizzi6494 I have never in my life heard of so many people being afraid of the woods !!! This is getting really crazy. These animals have always been in the woods everywhere you just don’t see them cause most of them stay away from people
@@mwatkins2464 I'd still have shot that creature.
I agree.
Or attacked by a predator, they sometimes come out of nowhere and fast!!
It’s your property and you are expected to take care of it. You do what you have to do for your family and all of your animals. Stay strong!!
That was a very healthy dog that you caught in the trap.
Hey, I live in the suburbs and I've never had to deal with what you have to deal with... but in my opinion, you're doing the right thing. You're protecting your family, your animals, and your property. I love watching your videos. All the best to you and your family. ❤❤❤
As my wife just put it "You shoot, shovel, and shut-up " we have many predators around our place and our horses,, pea-fowl, pheasants, chickens, and pigs have been attacked by them. We no longer put up with any predators. We try deterrents then destruction if that fails then start the backhoe.
That's our motto in Idaho too! SSS shoot, shovel shut up. 😂
Amen!!!!!!!!!
YOU GOTTA DO WHAT YOU GOTTA DO & IS NECESSARY💯
Couldn't have said it better myself.
Take it to the Train Station, lol
Never apologize for protecting your homestead and family!
Dutch you are trying to keep your family and animals safe. These animals that enter your property might have a disease of some kind or rabies. You do what you need to do period. The same people that will talk bad would do the same thing to protect their family and pets. God Bless you and your family. MUCH respect and love to you.
Yes, I agree with you that you need to keep your animals, your home and family safe.
A dog like that one without a collar would be a goner on my place!
What is he was not a threat tho yah what would you do now
Anyone who has lived in the country all our lives, knows 1st: get rid of any dog that runs livestock, kills chickens, etc. 2nd: collar our dogs, it's truly common sense, or used to be, back when people were normal...
STOP Running it
I appreciate seeing how your farm life really is, it's the good and the hard!!
Hey Dutch, you got to protect your family and animals. Traps are a great line of defense! That dog will not return! I'm 70 years old, and grew up on a farm in the country. Our lane was a dirt road about a mile long, people would pull in and drop off mangy dogs and my dad gave me a .22 to dispatch them. And I did! Didn't want them coming close to ours dogs and other animals. Hopefully you will catch a coyote or two!!
Will dogs eat coyote , raccoons , opposum , hawks , buzzards , and etc if you cook it for them .
That was a unique looking dog with its silvery coat shaded with black, wide head, bright eyes. It reminds me of some of the village strays in Asia.
What a shame!!! Hope you keep your kids and dogs always in your sight!!
Keep your animals safe!! Whatever it takes!
Awsome Dutch n Family!!!
You need to protect your animals, larger traps are better, don't let it bother you,God bless🙏😊
Interesting stuff thanks. Chris from England
Randy the carpenter seems like a Cool guy.
😊👍
You gotta protect what's yours. The kids and wife and all animals. Keep up the good work.
I was thinking you caught Gracie. You don’t want a stray pit bull running around either.
I love everything y'all are doing. Trapping and dispatching hurts our hearts no matter what, but it's just part of it. It's a wonderful life you are living with your family and I really enjoy being a part of it.
You’re doing the right thing, Dutch. You must protect your animals and family!
👍
You do what you gotta do. I understand your feelings on this.
Hey Dutch you guys are wonderful. I love your channel. You should not have to defend your way of life. There is always going to be someone complaining. I would love to live the way you guys are living.
Good job, Dutch and Randy. You are doing a good job with it how about you get a live trip good job
This is if you're a responsible dog owner. You know where your dog is and they have a tag on their collar and are well kept. If someone abandons a dog it will go rogue to survive and that's a sad situation and it too must be addressed
Address by taking it to the pound.
@@SenseOfWonder2 and pay them to put it down?naaa.
@@johnwingate8799
Kind people have already paid for the animals care.
Some of those animals are Good dogs who had rotten owners.
The pound would at least give them an end of their days surrounded by kind people.
Some of them might even get a chance to be a nice family dog.
Just because they had a rotten owner doesn't mean the dog was bad and you know only a rotten person would release a domestic animal into the woods just like only a rotten person would shoot a domesticated animal just because they are in the woods.
It was a nice looking dog from what I could see of it. Hope it has a home it go to.
It's your responsibility to protect your family and homestead. It's the neighbor's responsibility to keep their dogs on their property, just like themselves, NO TRESPASSING.
You are not responsible if they end up in your traps, when you have signs posted, and you are doing your due diligence. Keep your traps set and keep doing as your are. Your family are safe, as are everyone else that live on your homestead. Keep up the good work!!!
Dogs can't read the no trespassing signs😒. Dogs gonna roam, you don't do away with every stray dog you see. Unless it attacks you, your family, pets or livestock.
This is what I’ve been waiting for great video Dutch
You should never have to apologize for being the protector of your family and livestock. Dutch, you are doing an amazing job. Thank you for sharing your experiences. God bless you and your family.
Yeah, protecting them from starving dogs who don't want to be there in the first place.
Get a livestock protector dog or two. They will take care of all those predators on their own. No trapping required.
👍🏻 I do understand what you’re saying .family comes first and that means you’re family comes first.🙏🏻
LOL...Dutch, those aren't horses...they're 4 legged pillows....thanks for the great content, keep it up.Really enjoy watching the progression of "Keepin' it Dutch" and the homestead. You and the family stay safe and take care. Peace out from Doc, in the Great White North of southern Ontario, Canada.
They are little hay burners lol. I have 4 of them.
Your right they are not horse's.
Gotta protect ur Family and Livestock!!
As a fellow Oklahoman with livestock, you should absolutely keep those traps set. I will say though, if that would have been on my property, that dog would not have walked away. I have more problems with stray dogs getting my critters than I do 'yotes and cats...and I have a lot of the latter.
The biggest problem is the people that ditch their dogs off in the country!
And who can put $on that animal not attacking the nearest human or dog within his range? Especially if he is rabid. If it is unknown to landowner , it has to be put down right then and there! Please don't take chances with your animals or your family/ neighbor's family members. That animal might now become a threat to them!!!
@@shermrock345 It's not the animals fault when or if an owner ditches an animal and is not the animals fault because of pisses of sh🤬it owners abandoned there dogs. Its just shameful that they do that at all.Instead of finding a good home for them instead of dumping them.
That's my thoughts.
Ditto
The dog showed no signs of aggression or chasing anything. Stop promoting cruelty.
Hey Dutch just a quick idea for you.if you get a 6' piece of 3/4 pvc pipe white pipe works best and some 12 Guage stranded wire ,double the wire up and run it through the pvc pipe and leave about 2 feet hanging out and cut it off ,knot the loose ends together so one side won't slip through and when you push the wire through you get a loop this is a Indiana rig rabies stick like the dog catchers use and it works great if you need to free an animal from a trap without injuries. If you have a big strong dog you can up the pipe to some 3/4 emt conduit and 10 awg stranded wire ,just make sure to ream the ends of the conduit so the wire don't get trashed also leave enough wire to push loop out the catching end and enough on your end to get a couple of good wraps around your hand you wanna have a good grip so it doesn't get pulled away from you.
I was raised in the country. My Dad didn't hesitate to put down an animal that was endangering one of our animals. The neighbors were the same way. It didn't matter who it belonged to. Thats just the way it was. You do what you need to do to protect your farm! If anybody gets mad, they've never lived in the country where you do what you have to to protect your animals! I live in Texas.
Amen, if it gets caught it gets shot lol If you love the animal teach him where the property line is and not to chase live stock. .308 doesn't care and neither do I
I AGREE WITH YOU ONE HUNDRED PERCENT!! I GREW UP ON A FARM IN RURAL INDIANA AND WE HAD TO PROTECT OUR LIVESTOCK!!!!! I NOW LIVE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS BRINGS BACK SOME MEMORIES!!!!! WE BUTCHERED OUR CATTLE AND HOGS AND CHICKENS AND PEOPLE JUST NEED TO REALIZE THAT THOSE ARE THE FACTS OF LIFE!!! A DOG OWNER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN DOGS AND IN MOST PLACES THERE ARE LEASH LAWS!!! A FERAL DOG CAN BE EVEN MORE DANGEROUS THAN A COYOTE!!! FERAL DOGS HAVE NO FEAR OF HUMANS AND COULD BE A DANGER TO YOUR FAMILY!!! WHEN I LIVED IN THE HIGH DESERT OF CALIFORNIA, I OFTEN TOOK WALKS IN THE BARREN PLACES AND I ALWAYS CARRIED A BIG STICK BECAUSE OF THE DOGS THAT ROAMED AROUND UP THERE!!!!! I USUALLY ENDED UP THROWING ROCKS AT THE DOGS TO KEEP THEM AWAY!!!!!! I LIKE WATCHING YOUR PROGRESS ON YOUR HOMESTEAD AND GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!
I prefer live traps for that reason.
I've caught cats when I was trapping for raccoons, opossums and skunks.
Caught a raccoon with a mangled paw last year so someone uses foot traps around here.
I agree, leg traps are too indiscriminate and damages wildlife that are not the pest object. Live traps at least you can set the animal fee and undamaged if it's not the pest you're after.
You have to do what you need to do to protect your family, animals. Take care 🙏❤️👍😊
If you have dogs, be responsible and put your dogs up. I live in a rural town in SW Georgia. There is a leash law. I had a neighbor who let his dog roam. It tried to attack myself and my wheelchair bound mother and all i was doing was pushing my mom around the yard. The neighbor got mad and tried to bust our window. After mom passed, that same dog on several occasions tried to attack me. And every time I called animal control, the owner retaliated. They (animal control) finally euthanized it and told the owner to move.
Yea like dogcatcher can tell someone to move.
smh
Shotguns work real good.
@@papaal7014 You must've missed the "rural town in SW Georgia" part.
A guy like that in a small town in Australia has been a missing person for 30 years.
@@redtobertshateshandles
Luv dat!!🤣😂😆
Not a bad trap setup, you caught a dog, just the wrong kind of dog...lol It had wicked looking eyes though, like a bulldog I have, blue. Love ya'll ❤️, be careful, and dispatch at will!
Hey bro I love how you keep us updated ❤❤❤
Protect your family and livestock, ALWAYS!!! 💝💖❤💘💝💖❤💘watching your videos, thank you and have a great evening!!!
We dispatched a coyote right outside our front door this morning!
Good evening Sean, I am watching your replay: well that was edge of your seat watching & wondering. I wonder if it was someone's pet it seamed scared when it saw you. How did it get out of the trap?
Keep doing what you are doing Sean you have to take care of your animals & family. Take care 🙏😊🤗
Hi Dutch. I totally agree with you on everything you do. Some people don't understand the way of life being on a homestead. Olden days that was the way of living in the wild. Always protect your family and livestock and pets. Keep up the great adventures and be safe! Thanks for sharing your videos with us.
I just came from Lester’s page. You have great content t too! I’m glad that dog wasn’t all wild with you.
A blanket is a good idea. I was wandering how yall were going to set that thing free, thankfully it got loose on it's own. Definitly protect your family, animals and property.
Just do what you need to do to protect you and yours. It's within your rights. Great video. Keep em coming and be safe.
👍 up Dutch, you do what u have to do to protect ur family & animals. God Bless
Much respect... your vids are amazing. Thank you!
I have a question. Why do you take a dog along, not on a leash, when I would think it would try to go after whatever you trapped an get hurt?
I think that is your builders dog
You don't have to worry about bringing your dogs along if they're trained
I take my dog for walks with a leash. But I am willing to drop it and shoot anything or person that needs to be dealt with.
But I have had dogs that stay close to you when walking, each person knows their dog by dealing with them.
My son's German Shepard will stay near him with no leash. Mine . . . . well that could be the last time I see him for hours as he explores the world for food.
Most farm dogs know to stay close to the owner. I have 5 dogs all know to come when called and when we are in the woods they stay with us
He had to call the dog several times to come back. This shows he isn't trained to hunt or protect. Maybe next time you won't take another dog along, just to be safe. At least the trapped dog was not injured to bad. Maybe it will stay away. To many people take dogs and other animals and dump them in the woods, along a road, or at someone's home. Shame on them. I do hope next time it's one of the problem animals. Be safe, and blessings to all. Deme in Bama.
.
Good Content, my neighbor’s dogs show up on my hunting property frequently, spoke with said neighbor; “I would hate for one of your dogs to get caught in my ‘snares or bucket sets’- NEVER saw them again,… thanks for sharing!
That dog has probably been on its own for a good while. It didn't look starved though. Definitely has mange. Maybe it's been running with the coyotes.
I love to watch your videos and don't feel bad and you have to do what you have to do to protect your family and your animals at any cost
Good evening from Syracuse NY everyone thank you for sharing your adventures and your farm
Homesteader here and I totally agree with what you are saying! Those that don't agree with your lifestyle have no idea what farmers and ranchers have to deal with to supply the grocery stores with the meat they eat.
You have to protect your family and animals. Ty for your videos
"horses"😆
I don't understand why anyone would not understand trapping, like you are doing. It's common sense!
Yes do what you need to protect your animals and family.
You’re doing the right thing! Just be careful and stay safe! Love you content!!! God bless you all
What beautiful horses you have.
You need to get a catch pole and a small piece of plywood for accidental catches even a heavy blanket and possibly a live trap to transport it in or find who it belongs to.
Ok I’ll look into that, thank you
You should have shot it. It WILL be back. Mark my words.

It's your right to protect your animals and your wife and girls when they are outside. No matter what kind of animal it is. Have a great day. ❤❤❤

You have to do what you have to do
I've noticed that most naysayers are those who live in urban areas and have no idea the ins and outs of homesteading or living in rural areas.
Hoping you get your predator problem resolved.
Stay safe
Your mini horses are cuuuute!
Randy seems like a good guy 😊
The way I see it it's your land and your life. Protect you and your family as you will.
& this is why I NEVER use traps. Live traps only. Yes ppl should keep track of dogs but accidents happen😳🥺 no judgement! Just ME thing! Gotta protect your own❤

Livestock always comes first.❤
Hi, I've watched a few of your videos love the life style and just subscribed, sending ❤ from 🇨🇦
🤗🤗🤗
Dutch you and randy done good no matter what anyone says
Some friends had this issue with coyotes attacking their goats and chickens and they feed the coyotes hot dogs filled with antifreeze. It worked. I would suggest a large baited live trap, then you could deal with it according.
Go to your neighbors and let them know you have traps set to catch predators on your homestead. That will put the monkey on their shoulder to protect their animals. Keep up the good work.
Now there's a thought
Who’da thunk it
No. If they're scumbags they'll be a danger to you.
Definitely bigger traps! They just keep multiplying you have to do something. Now for those ticks!
Hello Sean. Keep an eye on your dogs and Randy's dog so they don't get in the traps. That may have been a coydog. Stray dogs mate with coyotes. A regular dog would normally start barking. Good luck. 👍🏻
Not so much. Have caught couple dozen dogs in my 30 years of trapping. A few bark, some sit there and wag their tails. Some I catch year after year and let them out and they run home. Some are scared. But you know what can bark? A coyote, a good number of them will start barking at you when you approach them.
@@jhn472 yeah Eden has no idea wtf they’re talking about
You all need a couple mules to get the coyote!👍🏽😀❤️🇺🇸
Great video!! Please do what you have to do to protect your family and livestock! I sadly lose way more animals to my neighbors dogs! Coyote rarely are brave enough to come in an get my animals but dogs don't care!!
You have to protect your family and livestock, first and foremost. I grew up on a farm in S. Dakota and stray dogs were a bigger problem than bobcats, racoons and coyotes. That dog was a young Cane Corso, he/she will get almost twice that size in pure muscle as he/she matures, they can be deadly in the wrong hands and situations be very careful.
Any content is ok with me! Don't forget to check for ticks!
