Hey Damen, it is such a great knife man, and I’m so glad I grabbed it. I think it is such an underrated knife, or it at least seems to slip through the cracks. Thanks brother, you too!👊
Awesome man! I have two of them now lol had to get a spear point version too:) yeah, I don’t know what’s up with that, but maybe because the press for that g10 isn’t quite as crisp, or the the design is too small and intricate. Either way, it’s the only thing on the knife I could even pick on.
Great video man. Love the channel. I love mine and I agree with you. It doesn’t get the attention it deserves. I put a custom micarta from RC bladeworks. It is awesome with it on. It is a really good hard use knife. Love it.
That’s tough man... it would probably be between this and the the skinny Xm18 slicer. Those are my favorite so far👍 I do like the standard Xm18, but these and the skinny are just better slicers.
I can understand that. It doesn’t bother me really, and the top of the screw is radiused, so it does have a somewhat finished look. Could have it been finished better, of course, but I don’t even notice it in use. It isn’t a deal breaker for me, personally.
@@inthepocket7405 Of course it won't affect the performance and it's a Hinderer but it's just mess the beauty of the fit and finish.. I like the knife ,just don't understand why couldn't make it regular integrated pivot screw..
I agree. If a company really wants to show off their skill. Make washer knives that are smooth as butter. Like you said, you can have shit tolerances and make a smooth bearing pivot knife. Washers are much more robust, study, smooth, and way more durable. Better in every way in my opinion.
I've been wanting a firetac too, I am glad to see the detent is strong enough for a good action. That's what I was hoping to see.
It’s got a nice crisp detent, and a great action overall.
Hey Kenny, always liked this blade. Rarely see them on the secondary market, great review and Happy Holidays!

Thanks for the video, I just ordered the same knife today.
Of course. I don’t think you will be disappointed. I haven’t really heard from someone that didn’t like this knife yet.
Very nice cant wait for the review, the smoothest glassiest knife I ever felt had fb and teflon both on each side, but i understand what you mean
Me too... I love this knife more and more by the day:) I just sharpened it, and the 20cv feels really good👍
Totally agree on the Teflon washers, I've been using my xm-18 for a few months now and the action is still perfect with little to no lube.
Yeah, I love them man
I bought my Firetac a couple weeks ago and I love it! The G10 on mine looks the same way Btw

Thanks bud, really appreciate it. Yeah, it is great! I’m loving it more and more every day. Can’t wait to make some micarta scales for it:)
Definitely one I want to try at some point.
You will get to handle this one buddy👊
The bearings are a improvement on the Firetac as they are on all Hinderer knives.
Full review soon?
Nice overview man. By the way how does the thickness behind the edge compare to your other Xm-18s.
Thanks Alex. It’s thinner than the standard Xm18’s, but a little thicker than the skinny. I think the spearpoints might have a thinner bte too.
Good video 👍 Xmas to you and family
Thanks buddy👊 You too!
Would ya trade that firetac?
👌
👊
Hey man do you have any thoughts on this vs a sebenza?
Man, that’s tough... I love them both. I lean towards the Sebenza due to the hollow grind, and it’s hard to beat the build quality of CRK.
G10 is not molded. It is CNC machined.
You work for Hinderer?
@@inthepocket7405 No, ask Rick, he'll tell you... machined.
I thought the g10 was actually micarta at first.
Hmmm interesting. It will be micarta soon😁👊
I freaking love this model, but to pay the same price as an actual xm18... that's just ridiculous.
How would it be any cheaper? Same materials
Vs xm 18????

Okay ok now I want to try one 🔪
I have another one coming already 🤦🏽♂️ lol
That pivot screws sticking out😏 I think that mess the entire sense of relative quality 🤦I mean that is the deal breaker for me

Yeah, I totally get where you’re coming from, and it definitely should have been different.
Bearings are gay. Washers show off the tolerances while bearings hide sloppy builds. Plus washers are objectively more robust
