I never discovered this series when I was little, which is a pity. But somewhere somehow after I was grown, very grown😊, I became aware of the series and I’ve read three or four of the early books. They are delightful.
I, too, adore these books thanks to you! They are a cozy read full of nostalgia. How very special to have your mom go to that effort to get you that book - and it has the library dates in the back! Thank you so much for this recommendation. I now own most of them as well (but not the hardcovers…yet!). ~ Michelle
I just adore them. No matter what else I read...nothing has compared and grabbed my heart like these. :-) When I first started buying them they were all out of print and it was so costly to get them...I am so glad they are back in pint. :-)
@@jamesjamm a few years ago, I had JRR Tolkien’s initials tattooed on the back of my arm because I love his books. I have an appointment for an illustration of the willow flower fairy from Cicely Mary Barker to be tattooed as well. I always had those fairy books when I was little for my mom, and she still buys me any of those kinds of books today even though they’re not actual novels.
I am so looking forward to reading these! It’s 10 books in the series, right? I love reading about real people and places and reliving times past. I also read Ballet Shoes, and have seen the movie but I haven’t been able to find it in a while.
They have this series at my library… YAY!! I love old books like this, I can’t wait to get started. 😊
