When Daybreak came out in Japan Kondo specifically said “we have a song that sounds like Blue Destination in this game. We hope you enjoy it.” It didn’t take people very long to figure out what song he was referring to.
I’m going to be honest here: I’ve never played a Falcom game. I have no plans to play a Falcom game any time in the near future. I am in no way knowledgeable about how the sound team works. I’m a complete outsider, and I’m only here for the music. One thing that I do know, however, is that you - and a few other commenters - are constantly, and seemingly baselessly, hating on this one composer named Singa. You constantly compare them - whoever they are - to some other guy named Unisuga. You seem to genuinely enjoy some of Singa’s tracks, and yet, inexplicably, you are entirely incapable of giving any praise to Singa through anything except a backhanded and degrading compliment. It’s childish, it’s ridiculous, and it’s annoying as hell. You are perfectly entitled to your own opinion - I have no intention of taking that away from you. But for crying out loud, could you please just shut up about this silly, petty beef you have with Singa? I, and the rest of the world, would greatly appreciate it.
Couldn't have said it better. I'm mostly ignoring comments on Falcom because I know there's a lot of hate towards Singa. Actually, I love Falcom Sound Team as a whole. Much love my friend!
This is something that has always been there since Singa made music for Falcom, some fans just straight up hate the guy. While not all the songs he makes are 10/10 bangers its still quite a feat to create a lot of music with different varieties in 1 game. Of course people have their own opinions, though I feel that not everything in a person's head must be said out loud ( in this case spread through the internet). However people can be stubborn and most of us have to live with it
As far as the music channel's comment section goes this applies to MontBlut and no one else. If you go back and look at most Singa tracks' comments, there's more people complaining about Singa hate than any real Singa hate. Besides, the actual beef is with Kato and Falcom's upper management for not caring enough about the once legendary sound team to invest in them at all. Instead they pay almost nothing for over half the OST to be filled with Singa's mid. I dislike Singa's music for the most part, but I (and most others) have no issue with the man himself. Falcom the corporate entity is the problem, not Singa the single composer. "Singa haters" are so insistent about expressing our feelings about his music because we love and care (or used to depending on the person) about the games and their music.
I too really adore him. However, I think the next game gives him a tragic end: either it makes him Enforcer XVI of Ouroboros, or sends him to the past where he's destined to be renamed Harwood and father Ellroy Harwood.
i think they simply have different focus; rise of the grendel focuses on van transforming into grendel; solid-state shard blow focuses on the battle between grendels.
Without having any context not having played either game, can't imagine ever rating a Singa track above a Jindo one. Just the production value alone is far higher on the latter, and this track isn't even close to Singa's worst. As with many of his tracks, I like the melody but the sound is just the usual repetitive and grating stuff that reeks of cheap and quick production.
@@PositronCannon I just really like this song haha, I'm not taking into consideration the composer when comparing them. This one's catchy and really stands out in-game during those battles where is used.
Grendel Rising... The song that plays against that person's space fighter jet thing. Hope you brought an umbrella. Maybe something to deal with all the lag you get in Switch handheld mode too. And above all, remember. The desperation strike doesn't end until you get a final shot in. Wait a second, wrong song.......
To those saying this sounds like blue destination. Well its spot on. Its pretty much the same melody, in fact most songs in this series are just the same melody used over and over. Example. Bareahard ost is just a slowed down version of "thors class 7" theme. In fact most of them follow near identical melodies now i think about it.
That resolution into the loop transition gets worse the more and more I listen to it. Way to bring what little energy the composition had to a stand still without even managing to loop it properly
Gotta say this one has grown on me a lot when actually playing the game, it works pretty well hype-wise. Sadly has some of the usual Singa-isms with the instrumentation, but nothing too egregious and it's probably one of his best works all in all.
right? he came so close! the last track from him that really disappointed me after a great opening was シンクロニシティ #23 from CS IV. generally kiseki would be better off without him, cause the other guys put out quality way more consistently than he does.
@@AlkonKomm i think in any other series i'd look past it, but it's really obvious how basic his compositions are when compared to other contemporary and previous Falcom Sound Team musicians. Hajimari's OST made it really obvious since Jindo and Singa both had a lot of tracks there
So I finished the demo a few days ago and this is the theme that supposedly people were hyping up from Kuro, it's pretty mid. Bro tried to take inspiration from blue destination and failed Edit: changed my mind about this track it's actually not that bad and it's far better than his regular shitty boss themes in this game
I'm honestly disappointed I don't like this song. I normally enjoy Singa's synth oriented and piano oriented songs. I usually blame Singa's instruments for me not liking his stuff, and I'm tempted to do that here. But sitting on this one for a while, the problem is definitely with the composition. It's just boring. Singa has a problem with using dull filler riffing to get to the next section of a song, but this track feels like it's entire made of filler. The only part I can remember after I stop listening to it is the outro (which I do like).
@@Denzel-d2k Same, Solid State Shard Blow didn't do much to me compared to this one.
