Congrats on the Dyke Delta. The left roll on launch is definitely from the torque. Did you notice when you reduced power on the second launch right after the launch the roll reduced. The Dyke Delta was one of the airplanes I wanted to build back in the 60's when I was a teen and couldn't afford. In the 80's, working for Republic Airlines, I chose the Cozy to build instead. It was a good choice. Held 3 adults and I saw all day, 215m mph on a 150 hp engine.
Wow that’s insane you built the real plane?? After seeing some little documentaries on these little experimental airplanes I knew I had to make an RC version
@@hotlapkyle The airplane first flight was in Nov. 1994. This was before the wheel pants and stripping was installed. This is link to video of the first flight. You can tell it was old video tape. ua-cam.com/video/s4ElY1fZ3z0/v-deo.htmlsi=csb29Mfv83eODMAI
Congrats on the Dyke Delta Kyle! That tendency to roll left is definitely torque from the motor. Perhaps mix a little roll to throttle or something to that effect? Regarding the "rolly" Schmiggen, lol, that's why I tend to HATE small models. I always find that the larger the scale, the more stable it flies, but that of course is just me. Great job!! Looking forward to the remaiden of the Dyke Delta!!
Yep! Definitely the P factor. The 50mm Shmiggen is incredible once dialed in. I put some expo on the roll and it’s puuurfect now. I agree the larger models fly way more stable
If you don't offset your thrust line, the plane will be untrimmable unless you fly at one throttle and speed setting. This might be okay in full sized planes where you cruise for hours but it makes an RC plane fly like crap.
I think 3D printed planes are in their infancy. They need a more flexible build that doesn’t shatter on impact. I fly foam, which will dent, but rarely break.
PLEASE respond I downloaded your original mig 29 and got the canopy printed and now the one I downloaded isn't there anymore. The one there now is a funfly one and that isn't the one I wanted. If I can't get the original the canopy I printed is a waste of lightweight pla.
Relax I’ll email you whatever you need. Someone got the MiG flying so it’s no longer free. That was the deal. If you downloaded it why don’t you have the file? Email me at builtfastkyle@gmail.com
Hey brother. Love your designs. Ive destroyed 4 of the mini delta wings in 50mm on 4s. Do you have any of your modles that you recomend as a trainer? Ive got experience with fixed wing but EDF'S are an entirely different animal. Also hope you enjoy flight fest!
@@hotlapkylethe airframe is great. I don't have issues launching because I just let it take off from the ground. Over all it just feels extremely fast, I'm just looking for something a bit slower but with the same stability. I'll check out the two you recommend
You know you have an unbalanced prop/motor when your electric plane sounds (and feels) like a 2-stroke chainsaw.
I would definitely be trying Gemfan Polycarbonate props
A 5" 3 blade will reduce the torque roll, and Gemfan Polycarbs are tough!
Do you have the printing files available?
Nice flight, I can't wait to see the reaction from the people at flight fest of the F16XL, im betting they are going to love it
absolute mint! could you reccomend me the easiest to build/fly aircraft you offer? Cheers

Where can i find the files for the dyke delta plane? Great video!!

Please tell me you eill be recording flite fest, i told you for months and months im dying to watch the monster viggen fly again
He’ll yea
I just built this in kerbal space program lol. Are these foam or 3d printed?
I saw you at flite fest on Friday. I was the kid right next to you with the timber X and arrows bigfoot
Nice!!! Hope you had a great time 👍🏻
in the second flight did the battery come loose and shift the cg backwards?
I think the impact loosened the battery

Unrelated, please do a Vought A7D Jet please, great content and thanks!

I crashed my shmiggen 12 times and needed minor repairs. Prop planes will never do well crashing. Most of my planes are EDF
Try a smaller diameter prop. Makes the initial torque a bit less. I’ve had a few small planes act similar.

Looks fun! Turn on the brake on the esc. That helps a ton on not breaking props
Great call!
You’ll need to show me how, I only speak EDF, props are foreign
Gyro??

Ahhh what happening with the mini delta fighter? Is it on launch or just too much to handle flying?
The F4D or F7U are the easiest by far

congrats on your first prop plane (i think)
Nope he has had some before!
Step on the right rudder called P factor
Been some time since I’ve dealt with prop planes. All my others were pushers lol
