Picked up this board for a budget mid range build. Digging the usb bios update button. Nobody had the tomahawk board at the time. Will be water cooling a 3600.
I use this exact same motherboard on my desktop computer, and it works fine *AFTER' you take care of the BIOS version and it's settings. You have to flash it to the latest BIOS, and then check the settings through. In my case I had to tweak the BIOS settings a bit to make sure it uses the 1.2 volts (to be exact I set it to 1.24V) on the DDR4 RAM (which is the low voltage 1.2V on my setup) while still using the higher frequency 3.2Ghz. Had to enable XMP something , to get it right. Good motherboard so far, I have used it for some 6+ months with Ryzen 5 3600. It's good choice for people who are short of money but who can do the BIOS settings.
Enabling XMP profile is something you need to do on all motherboards for the memory to run at advertised speeds, otherwise it defaults to 2133mhz or whatever. It's not specific to this board.
Hi can you use vga if you have an apu? My mother has an old monitor that uses those pin connectors..you mentioned the hdmi for if you had an apu and now i am wondering..
Its not got vga so you'll need an adaptor that converts dvi-d to vga. Personally, if funds are low, get a used lcd monitor rather than using an adaptor on a really old monitor.

Recommend this board,same vrm as B450 Tomahawk Max.The vrm is good no need to worry bout vrm overheating.

good bit o kit, I went with teh B450m ASUS TUF because my case is a micro ATX.
if I got a ryzen 3 3100 or a 3 3300x would I need to do a bios update ?

there is a normal rgb header
Isn’t the bag conductive on the outside? I don’t recommend you put the mobo on the bag.
The outer side of the bags are low conductance and the motherboard is fine as long as it isn't powered.

Hi. I did not have to upgrade the bios on this motherboard to use Ryzen 5 3600. I did upgrade to the latest bios after the build was complete.
