Total precision, people who have never shot competitions have not got a clue, they look, assume and get a stereo type impression. After being offered to be professional at MMA and an addiction to fitness sports, I now find Air Pistol shooting the most addictive sport i've even participated in, very difficult at first, but with progression, this sport combines all the basic elements that have addictive factor, nerves, adrenalin on the firing line, want to succeed, promotion to higher divisions, trying to get good enough to go on the ranking circuit. Some people have not got a clue, try it or shut your mouth about issues you have not tried
I enjoyed this. I did not really like all the noise from the crowd. But I did enjoy the quality of shooting here. I'm in Tennessee USA and how I wish I could find a club or organization that is doing 10 M Air Pistol and Rifle shooting. I do this in my home every day and I would like to compete and make air gunner friends.
Indeed with you, the crowd is waaay to loud.. But you should try to find a club, I'm in a club in Sweden and its really funny and hard to shoot pistol :) (sry for my bad english)
Keep cracking at it. Practice daily, read the books out there and you will do well. I'm in a similar position as yourself shooting at home but after 4 months with no club affiliation but instead training daily at home I'm now shooting scores in top 10 in the UK. Once you reach an average approaching 540 I'd simply find a local competition and start competing. In the comps you'll make friends who will give you pointers. Do however try and find a club you can go along to once in a while as if you are a complete beginner to competion target shooting you may need some help with technique to get up to a decent standard. find a club at the USA shooting website and would recommend reading the book I've posted a link to below. Enjoy and hopefully see you at an internation comp in the future. M www.usashooting.org/membership/49-clubs/locate-a-club www.edinkillie.co.uk/ecatalog/olympic-pistol-shooting-p-1283.html?cPath=35
+Mchipp1 uki As sport shooter from Czech rep (now using Steyr LP10 with grip from Morini and bomb from AERON) I'm saying that books are the worst. Find a club with good prestigue. Best would be if you found trainer who trained some European / World champions like I did there in Czech rep. And your results will go high (i got from 310/400 (I'm still in "student" section) to 360-375/400) just for finding good trainer
