Just got a DSS611Z yesterday. I'm quite impressed by how well it cuts very wet 50x200 retaining wall timber that my old corded saw couldn't handle at all (this wood finished my old saw off - it started spewing smoke). The left hand blade is brilliant. So easy to see the line and get an accurate cut. I got a lot of cuts out of a partially charged 4AH battery, not bad considering how dense the wood was. Depth adjustment is nice. The marks on the blade guard are pretty good for getting a rough depth and the adjustment lever is easy to get at.
Look at that subtle off turquoise, the tasteful thickness of it
My dad got me one of these for my birthday, I’ve got to say I love the thing, it’s got pretty much as much power as the 120 volt craftsman circular saw I’ve got. It’s also so much more convenient. The main reason I wanted it though was because every single time I go to the hardware store in my area the saw is always broken when I want to get a sheet of plywood or something, so having a battery powered saw just allows me to cut down the wood in the parking lot.
Hello sir, which one has less weight? I saw that you fixed the play in the sole for the dhs680 when you removed the safety and raised the flap, it loosened up and started playing again? Thank you
Do you have any idea why Makita make this product in two different model numbers xss02 and dss611 . They are identical and I cant tell the difference?!
Model numbers beginning with X are the USA models. Everyone else uses D
Brushless?
its not just saws my brushed xwt04 half inch impact is way quieter than way quieter than a brushless milwukee
I have this little saw and I dig it!
Hi. Are you still using this saw? In your opinion, is this a good model for someone starting out looking for a cheaper cordless saw regardless if it is brushless or not? Bunnings for example of the Makita range start at $269 and then up $348 to $449 for a brushless 18v version. This model you are reviewing from TradeMe I can get brand new $195. I am a Dewalt man, but for a cordless saw from that range start $248 to $435 is way out of my league.
That saw was for my Mother, so I only use it from time to time and it does not get a lot of use. It is a good saw though, but as a daily saw I use the DHS680, but as you say it is much more expensive. I think the one in this video is a fine entry level circ saw. There are lots of good deals around if you have time to find them. Good luck. Where in NZ are you?
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL Hi there. Thanks for your reply. I live in Hamilton.
I love makita
Poor mum, she probably asked you to help cut so she could have a reason for you to visit!
thanks
Don't know if I can trust a guy's review on a tool who doesn't keep his knife sharp...lol. 😜
That was really thick wood. It'll cut right through ply wood like butter.
magkasno ang price Sir
In 2025-2030 this saw is going be popular, too)
This is an unboxing. Not a review!
Sorry to disappoint. If you send me your details I will get a refund out to you ASAP.
As an entry level tool, this saw will surpass any expectations and save you a lot of money. The quality of the cuts, ergonomics, compact size and lower noise levels are a real treat
