Go to the local islands you can get the same Experiences for cheap ! Instead of a c plane You can get around on a boat Or a ferry Look up the youtube video The maldives is a scam That definitely helped me You get the same hospitality Cheaper food And a cheaper experience Money wise
If you go to Maldives then you are supporting Nazi principles. Maldives constitution says only Sunni Muslims can become citizens similar to Nazi principles. Boycott Maldives
25 years ago we came the first time to the maldives. It was much less luxury.. We enjoyed the incredible underwater life. Today nearly everything is destroyed or dead. Today you can „swim“ in your private pool and watch underwater life at the TV.

We stayed in an over the water villa at Paradise Island in the Maldives in 2019. Video or photos don't do the water colours any justice. Marine life was endless and we spent all day in the water. Two countries everyone should experience for their natural beauty are the Maldives and Iceland.

Especially when they bring in the huge sand barges and pour hundreds of acres of concrete on top of coral reefs, and pay poor governments to turn a blind eye to their total devastation of the area.... Wow.... not too bright.....

Ritz Carlton is nice.. but Try Ja manafaru.... Beautiful island.. you have your butler oncall 24 7, yes you'll have to take the seaplane, but the flight is amazing, best view of the maldives in your 45-50mins flight...... you have to ck offen, some time you'll get it under $1000 a night during Hot season. we went during January, around $1000 a nite.... which is not bad for what you get... ua-cam.com/video/KsEVxRUMAo4/v-deo.html

I've been to many countries and lived also some long stays ....5 years Thailand and 5 years India, 2 years Sri Lanka.....no matter where I have travelled to and what I have seen, nothing has come close to what I have experienced in deep meditation and I can be almost anywhere doing that (even in super noisy busy train stations I've blissed out in meditation) and need basically nothing to do it but the practice of appropriate techniques....... it's amazing because it's free and God got me there always, because "there" is wherever I am 😊🙏

The Ritz Carlton does it right, but for my money, I would go back to Namale in Fiji. It’s so private and beautiful and the liquor is included. Also, the Fijian people are worth the trip alone. Bula! 🇫🇯🌞🌴

The good ole 0.1%...apparently this place runs about $4000 US per night minimum. For contrast, I just spent about a month travelling around southern Thailand in Ao Nang, Koh Lanta, Khanom and Koh Samui, staying in nice rooms (although nothing like this, of course) on the beaches for a grand total of around $500 US. Meals and gas for the motorbike included in that number. The world we live in is pretty messed up, if wondrously beautiful 😅
Hehe yes it’s not for everyone! South East Asia is so amazing for cheap travels! We backpacked around SEA for 5 months in 2019 and I think the most expensive hotel we stayed at was 40$ a night 😂

Excellent review! Just a few questions:
1) Regarding Marriott brands, how does this resort compare to the St. Regis? Which one would you pick?
2) Tossing in a Hilton brand, out of The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, and Waldorf Astoria, which one would you pick?
Those are some great questions! It all depends on what you're looking for! WA & RC have more dining options than the St Regis. St Regis has bigger villas than RC, but WA has even bigger villas. St Regis feels much more natural than both WA and RC, which are both manmade islands. Snorkeling is also better at the St Regis.
We lost our hearts to the St Regis, as it was the first resort we ever did in The Maldives, but we would gladly go back to all 3 :-).

Ritz Carlton and Waldorf Astoria are ULTRA LUXURY RESORTS whilst St Regis is under LUXURY Collection. So in terms of service, I must say Waldorf Astoria. Ritz Carlton just recently opened and the service is just okay but not as organized as WA. ☺️

Is the plane ride still $700 a head to and from the hotel?
It will probably be upwards of $700 for the seaplane (15min ride). Most guests take the speedboat (which takes around 50 minutes and is a little bit cheaper), because you actually save a lot of time by not having to wait on the seaplane, and you can arrive and depart the resort at any time of day (seaplanes only fly until 4pm)!

It seems that there is severe water damage to the front door of the villa. You would think that a hotel chain of this caliber would have chosen the correct door material and finish to use in a space built above sea water. Otherwise, beautiful rooms and gorgeous views.
