Suggestion - if you are going to try to explain mirror shift or flop or differential flexure - you probably should do that at the start of your presentation. Something like when imaging on an SCT - one large challenge people need to address is mirror shift and/or mirror flop - this is where the mechanical position of the mirror relative to the centre of the optical tube shifts by tiny amounts as you move your telescope across the sky.
One way to minimise this annoying shifting to add a separate external focuser and to rough focus with the main mirror - then lock it firm into this position with an after market add on device called a mirror lock. Fine focus is then achieved by using a separate focuser that adjusts your eye piece or cameras relative to your telescope.
Define the problem and how it ruins images prior to mention how parts of this issue are solved and by whom!

    Don't Like It
    but
I like your post showing me that my Meade 8" Classic may have an issue with mirror mechanism.
    Ok
I'm a structures engineer and I need to know what mechanical parts are causing the problem. I will take apart my Meade 8" Classic and try to understand what the problem is inside the focus knob to mirror.
    Solution ?
I will send a picture of the parts and any wear or slop in parts related to knob to mirror.

This only applies to Classics larger than the 8". The 8' did not come with the hole or hold down bolt for shipping.

What brand of electronic focuser did you use in your lx200 classic scope?

I have a few questions regarding your equipment set up. I have recently purchased a 1 owner 12" lx200 classic, its in absolutely mint condition and for 1100 dollars i believe it was a steal. so with that said, Is you scope a classic or newer. mine was made in 99'. what electric focus are you using? and where did you get the 2" eye piece holder for the rear? I want to get away from using the diagonal due to I am getting ready to purchase a cam. Thank you, and great videos especially for us noobs getting into this hobby.

Shawn Petrie my scope is a Meade LX200 10” classic.
The focus motor comes with an adapter to replace the existing one on the rear of scope. This will greatly improve your scope. The diagonal is Meade’s best , I believe it transmits 99% of light thru it.
This also comes with 1.25 and 2.0 eyepiece holders.
Welcome to the site, hope you find something of interest here. Enjoy your scope.
I hope all this bad weather here will leave soon so I can get back to Astrophotography. Thanks for
      The good comments. Clear skies!

@@baugham2 Thank you for your reply, do you by chance have a part number on the electric focus? the only onr i have found is the zero shift electric focus and from what i have read it does not work with the classic. also what guide camera and scope for guide camera are u using? Thanks again for your help. just getting started in all this.
