I tried for over 20 years to fight a severe addiction to opiates. It wasn’t until I came back to the church that I was able to turn it over to god. Now instead of daily opiates I receive the Eucharist daily. 2 and 1/2 year drug free and no temptations.now that’s a miracle.

Sr. James, thank you for sharing a small portion of your story. I for one find it incredibly hopeful and inspiring when I see Monks, Nuns, and Priests in their habits and cassocks walking around in daily life. When I was a boy I remember seeing Nuns almost daily and knowing and talking to them. I hardly ever see one now. May God bless you and Our Lady wrap you in her mantle of protection. Walk without fear and know you are loved.

I used the word sister in relation to her as my spiritual sister. The Lord's peace be with you.
My mother left me in the care of my paternal mother when I was 6 months old. She left to work in CA, and then she met a man which she married and had a family. A few years later she asked my grandmother for me but my grandmother loved me and didn’t want to let me go. When I was seven I had weekend visits with her and her family but I never felt love from her or felt that I fit in. I felt lonely those weekends. Im in my forties now and just about 4 years ago while I was washing dishes I was trying to figure out how she could’ve left me in the first place, that perhaps she never wanted me, when this thought came to me, “it’s ok if your mom doesn’t want you. God wanted you. This is why you are here today, your mom was only a means to get you here.”

I quit my antidepressant and feel weak and overwhelmed, fearful of these feelings continuing for the rest of my life, fearful of despair, saddened by my lack of fortitude. Lord have mercy, Holy Spirit come!

This is something that was set on my heart about a week ago. How fear had really overcome my life and controlled the way I act and don't act. I made excuses saying not the right person or not the right time, instead of identifying it as fear. Thank you so much for this video. It really spoke to me in a lot of ways.

Aaaaaabsolutely relate...and I totally believe that until you face your story, which I personally was crying and screaming through my life, for help, and no one heard....but Jesus. And that "only One" and One and only, what not "just" ..."but"....it was EVERYTHING!!!!!! And unless we are honest with ourselves, we cannot be honest with others. Unless we have humility, we won't ever go deeper.SOOOO right on and love this. I am sharing this wide and far, with particular people in mind. Including myself.

Fear has a way of crippling us, it crippled me for many years even after I met Jesus. I was set free from that fear a few years ago. I can't pinpoint exactly when it happened. At the same time, I was set free from guilt. God has a way of meeting us where we are at. He loves us that much. God will meet us in that despair and pull us out if we let Him. Thank you Sr. Miriam for your honest story. Keep on moving towards Jesus everyday and may God bless you.

I've always had terrible social anxiety to the point were it ruined my life, I don't feel free or happy. I remember always praying to God asking him to give me strength and to remove my anxiety but I've never felt it go away. Please I'm scared god, I have so much unease in me in everything I do. I really do believe in God but everytime I tell myself, God is with me I just still feel this overwhelming anxiety.
Wow. Inviting God in to your heart so that He can encounter your fear. He is beyond any power that fear may have over us. Truly, He is awesome.

I fear the voices of people around us.. to the point I had to run away from home.. but God grace is always around his children..
