You are clearly one of my biggest inspiration for learning languages, thank you so much for your work and dedication
Thank you for sharing that.
@@polyglotdreamsI have a question. Can you learn more than one dialect even if it’s the same language? For example Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese
@Manueltion15 sure... focus on the differences
@@polyglotdreams thank you
Thank you for making this insightful video Sir! I just had the same wrong understanding of fluency before watching your video… That has not only led to a lot of stress and rush even after I reached advanced level of my second/third languages, but also stopped me from enjoying the journey as well as mastering those small, basic but important chunks. Now I’m on my way to learn my fourth one but with a completely different mindset, walking on sunshine with the light of your insights😊 Thanks again!
I am so pleased that it helped liberate you from all the stress... enjoy the journey!
I was wai... digo, estuve esperando alrededor de 2 años esperando que este canal se activara, y ahora veo que está más que activo!! Jajaja excelente, gracias por los vídeos, Tim.
Gracias! Ahora muy activo.
i love that youre using modern tools for this learning example!!
Learning is so much easier nowadays
I like the 7 steps there and I agree that being fluent means different things and not just one thing, for example, the way I see it, is to understand mostly of what is being said and to able to get by and if you meet someone to be able to talk about different topics on the fly, it doesnt have to be an in depth conversation, just enough to get your point across, merry christmas.
Sure, the focus is on the flow of speech in a given context.
Thank you so much Sir. This is very inspiring, I have never had anyone explaining to me that clearly what fluency is, and how I can start to learn and speak the language at the early stage, normally I was very demotivated especially in the couple first month of studying a new languages, because I cannot see any progress. I will follow your guide and hopefully I can enjoy the learning journey better
Perfect... I am so pleased that it all makes sense yo you now, and you can apply it to your language-learning journey.
Thank you so much for your advice!
My Pleaseure
Thank you so much. It is a helpful explanation.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
this video is amazing 😊
Thank you so much... I appreciate that!
Some of these steps aren't possible in some languages:
* languages with few speakers, such as Jemez (which has rules against writing the language), Viossa (which has rules against making teaching materials), and Lojban;
* ancient languages, such as Latin and Ancient Greek (there are weekly chats in both, but if you want to talk about pickup trucks, you may have to make up a word).
If you want to learn Sumerian, you won't find a native speaker, but you won't find anyone who's going to criticize your accent either. For Latin, you might get criticized by a modern Romance speaker.
Yes .. those are interesting examples.
Surely, someone is working on an AI chatbot for Sumerian. Otherwise, what's the use of technological advancements ?
@@jaysterling26 can you work on it?
you're using very extreme cases to try to prove him wrong? obviously these wouldnt work for basically extinct or super rare languages.. so dumb lol
Дякую❤
будь ласка
Hola from Brésil.
Hola, Bem-vindo
非常感谢
This means when I'm anxious I'm not fluent and when I'm not anxious I'm fluent
Yes, exactly 💯
Sad for a native speaker@@polyglotdreams
@@KpopListener speaking anxiety can occur in any language, even our native tongues.
I've a question, sir.
I get a grammar course easily of a language. But how can I get the other material i.e. Vocabulary, practice set and other materials from easy to difficult?
Have you tried asking ChatGPT?
@@polyglotdreams yes but answer was not satisfactory. Maybe I didn't ask questions in proper way.
But why do I feel like 90% of all languages problems is solved with English only. It indeed is the most useful language in the world. Rest others are like additional supplementary aids like hobbies. But nothing can replace English supremacy. Lastly, on days when I feel so frustrated with language learning I really feel it's the exact same sentiments or thoughts that want to express in different languages so what the big deal, eh??
So for me, my emotions matter more than words.
If you traveled around the world you would find that the vast majority of people don't speak English.
Dear sir considering that someone is good enough to understand your lecture fully...does he need to learm anymore...? As far as upgrading is concerned it is always possible for a person who has already covered the fundamentals, the point is where should a person start as they dont understand the lectures!
We can always strive to improve 💪 even in our mother tongue
