Record of Ragnarok is one of my favorite "Fighting Anime" because we doesn't only get insane 1v1 Duels, we got so many emotions and Deepness to. We start with two of the best warriors to kick off the tournament. Thor one of the most famous gods and best fighters in the mythologie against Lu Bu one of the strongest warriors Humanity had with his aggressive fighting style and raw power, but still a honorable warrior. It was a clash of a fight and even when the gods winning, Lu Bu dies with honor and giving Hope for the humanity. Then we get the Godfather Zeus, probably Top 3 strongest gods in the whole show and one of the first gods to fight against Adam, the first human created as a symbol of his father. A battle between a nearly undefeatable God who see humans as low creatures, getting nearly killed by a soft looking human. Battle 3 the plottwist and first win for humanity with an old swordsman who get defeated so many times, is able to defeat one of the most arrogant gods in the series, because of his calm mind a tactical fighting style to show beeing a humble clever fighter is stronger than some arrogant God who isn't focused on his training. 4th Battle then show the darkside of humanity against a God who loves the humans and shows loyalty, kindness and honor, but losing to a psychopath serial killer. First people we can't even be happy for human get a point. After this we get Raiden vs Shiva. A muscle monster of pure strength against a narcist God of destruction who nearly beeing equal in many physique aspects. One fight for his people, the other one for his pride. Raiden loose, but managed to get the respect from the gods and especially from his opponent. And here we come to Battle 6, one of my favorites. We get Buddha, a God fighting for the humans and betray his Team because of moral aspects and deny to help the gods destroying humanity, against Zerofuku a broken guy with a sad backstory and inner conflicts. We see Peace fighting Hate. The calmest God against the one who fights with anger. And calm mind wins against chaotic emotions. 7th Battle Qin Shi the first Chinese Leader, against Hades the king of the underworld. This was a battle of two Leaders with pure will. One is the ruler of the ancient and most powerful warriors and the other one ruler of the most evil creatures know to gods and humans. We see an equal showdown, but in the End, Qin Shi triumphed. And last but not least, Tesla vs Belzebub. One of the most intelligent humans fighting with technology fighting against a literal demon and monster of chaos and destruction. We see Light vs Darkness and humanity nearly wins this, but in the end the pure evil was to strong. But Tesla shows that humans and their inventions be able to hold against the almighty gods.
That's why he's searching for a "worthy" opponent. At least this manga always romanticize everything, making gods and humans are not different from each other. Both sides are filled with assholes
I love how we people decide what’s good and whats bad, but no matter what side wins. People always commit and do what they go against. Because to get what you want you must be what you don’t want
