Fun fact. Maria's original outfit design (which she holds up in room 108) is actually based on an outfit that Christina Aguilera wore to the 1999 Teen Choice Awards.
loving your playthrough so far, you’re in for one hell of a ride filled with several twists you couldn’t imagine also, the “upside-down” world is known as the otherworld
@@M00SHTY because the game already did. you get the achievement “otherworldly” when you follow pyramid head into the red door. the description of the achievement literally says “enter the otherworld for the first time”
angela’s story is arguably the most tragic and sad in the game. every scene with her hits different after beating the game by the way, at 1:13:19 that’s her outfit from the original silent hill 2 :) 1:15:19 this house is another reference to the og, this being the mansion from maria’s dlc, born from a wish. there was some optional dialogue when you turned around and saw her staring at the house
On my first run the Blue Creek apartments scared the hell out of me. Those ghost mannequins that kept creeping closer to the gate were really unsettling
I interpreted James' expression at 1:26:31 as him formerly having issues with alcoholism (perhaps due to his wife being sick or having just passed away), thus him feeling the temptation of the drink Maria poured him. After all, he seemed to be looking down at the glass, lost in thought.
1:15:36 The Baldwin Manson, in the original, was where the DLC (Born From A Wish) was largely centered. It was all about Maria and her ties to the town. Can't really say anything more without spoilers.
I think you gave this Pyramid dude a good scare. Don't think he'll stay around after that beating. So many characters that seem to have interesting stories! Can't wait to see you try to wrap your head around their stories!
While I`m not always in favour of the idea of remakes, I`d say this is one of the examples done right. I`d say games from before the period of 2007 are better suited for remakes, as most things from before that time were limited by the technology of the respected time. Those games had great premises and interesting gameplay concepts, but couldn`t always be fully realised yet. Now with better technology, their full potential can be realised.
Everyone has different sensory perceptions. I think I'd be overwhelmed being that in the horror environment. I'd be tossing my headphones a lot at sound scares.
52:57 In Silent Hill 1, the sirens signaled that Alessa Gillespie was either losing control of her powers or about to attack the cult that ran the town. I figure it showing up here is a nod to the first game, as the cult would have been largely wiped out by the time James's story happens. Henry (SH1), his daughter (SH3), and especially Alex Shepard (SH:Homecoming) did a hell of number on them. The games are all out of timeline sequence as far as I can tell. I think a proper timeline would be Origins, 1, 3, Homecoming, The Room, 2, and lastly Downpour. Shattered Memories is, I think, an alternate universe retelling of 1's events, given a more grounded and realistic approach.
@@chandlerburse I can see an argument being made for that. Like the cult is still licking their wounds after Origins, or Alessa has them trapped in Otherworld or No Where. But you just don't see much of any mention of them, and certainly no current activity. I figure (by my timeline) after The Room, Samael is largely powerless. Best it can do is "siren's call" to people on the edge in order to feed on their pain and suffering.
@@chandlerburse This is just what makes sense to me. Although, I think you may have a point with Homecoming being between 1 and 3. It would explain why the cult is so disorganized and desperate in 3.

They really did Angela well, especially once you know her story.
51:44 obviously the siren means breaktime! The Union enforces it pretty strictly
The music sheets are pieces of classical pieces, this one translates to “toward the flame,” which might make sense at a later point.
21:57 The mom voice of mom voices! 😆
I love everyone‘s reaction when they go into the whispering room

Pyramid Head`s blade scraping accross the floor sounds even scarier than the original.

Enjoying this playthrough a lot, despite not being a fan of spooky. I'm really interested in the backstory!
🦇Have a wonderful🧛Halloween🎃next week Cyn thanks.👻
1:15:56 yeah it's cause there was an optional dialogue you missed 😅
Ugh, I think moths are beautiful, but when in flight they ICK ME OUT!
I’m curious as to why you chose mono audio, or why you use only one headphone? I couldn’t do that, real world noises would distract me too much.

There is no way The Room happens before 2 and its unlike 3 happens before it too.
Also most fans believe 2 happens before 1

Hey Cyn, btw you doing Alien Isolation 2, now that a sequel has been announced in active development?
yo i didnt know that is it gonna be about amanda ? did she survive in the ending
@@MountAverage28 it’s in early development, so likely.
Mostly because Amanda died to cancer remember?
Ellen learned off her faith in Aliens 2.
Why do i feel like pyramid head is smaller here in remake
