Thank You so much for creating this video! My family will be sailing on the Mardi Gras this year and have a family member who we are encouraging to get a scooter to be able to move around and off the ship. Since we were not able to secure a handicap room, I have been concerned about how a scooter would fit through the doors of a standard room as well as how/where it could be stored in the cabin! Your video displayed and answered all of my concerns! This video was a blessing!! Thank You so much!! I feel so relieved ☺️!
I was just talking to my family about how older people with mobility issues is a big portion of. Raise travelers. Trying to convince them that elderly and those with limited mobility actually cruise all the time.
Elderly and those who aren't but have mobility issues is a huge population of the cruise industry. As my mother described you will see plenty of scooters or walkers or canes on these ships all the time. We hope this video was helpful to encourage your family to go on a cruise. They will have a great time! If you watch our other videos in this playlist you will see how she was able to get to the different venues, her room and also off the ship in Turks and Cacios with the scooter. Thanks for watching.
We are so glad this video was helpful to you! Check out the other videos in this playlist and you will see how our mother was able to get around the ship and into her room using the scooter. Thanks for watching and enjoy your cruise!
The elevators are small and it doesn't help that those in scooters will push the elevator button and folks will jump in front and the person who hit the button have to wait again. My husband had a cane due to his mobility issue. We would block folks getting on so the scooter person could get on and wait then I would block so he could get on. I'd take the stairs and meet him.
Thanks for watching. That's such a shame that we all have to do that. If we weren't with our mom, she would have had such a tough time getting into those elevators alone. Thanks for sharing your story.
Thank you for this video. Although I have been using a scooter for a few years religiously for all activities, my first scooter cruise will be this fall. I have an accessible room reserved and I am looking forward to it. Any thoughts or suggestions?
You have an accessible room - perfect! The biggest suggestion I have is to pack your patience and give grace to other cruisers. Most cruisers are awesome and will look out for you and are helpful. Others will jump in front of you because they are not paying attention or want to get on the elevator first. I find taking a laid back approach to cruising provides the best experience. 💚
I'm curious. You said you had a back to back and you were in the same room. You had to get off, go through the terminal, go through customs, and then go to guest services to get your new key card. My question is: Did you have to pack up and take your luggage or were you allowed to leave it since you were in the same room again?
@@louisesnare3064 hi! Since we were in the same room we did not have to pack up and take our luggage. If our 2nd room had been different we would have had to pack up but the crew would have moved our luggage to the new cabin for us.
Thank you for this video❤
Very helpful and informative. Thank you all!

Nice video, wish you would have filmed going through the buffet on the ship.
Thanks! Will keep that in mind for future videos. 🙂
This was very helpful, as we will be sailing on the Mardi Gras March 2024 and will be renting a scooter for my Mother...Thanks 🥰

@@OurLivesTraveledYou, my dear, have a beautiful attitude. You’re articulate and explain things clearly.

did you get off at any tender ports ?
No, there were no tender ports for this particular cruise. Thanks for watching :)
Is there anybody here who suffers from hyperthyroidism and riding a scooter is it okay for you on back pain?
