So happy to sub to your channel. In advertising, if the product needs a song to sell it, it's because there's nothing good to say about it, and the product likely has no intrinsic value.
There's no ring modulator on, but I do know what you mean, I was messing around by playing different notes on opposite sides of the neck at the same time, I was getting this weird effect by doing it... That's the section you're talking about?
ironically, or maybe I should just say "true". the modality of the music that led into this vid just now was indeed as you said. I don't remember if it was a truck ad or not, though :) man I've gotten pretty good at not "seeing" those ads... but if that guitar playing of yours was in the ad I would remember always what the ad was and what they were selling! really. I might have to buy the product, too.. kinda like I remember the first time I heard Van Hale'ns solo on beat it.. I remember the pizza parlor I was at and who I was with. and that was over 40 years ago! I heard that solo open up into what was at the time the most Holdsworthian sort of thing ever to come oozing out of mainstream radio! I shushed everyone at my table so we could hear the rest of it... Eddie was a fan of Allan's as I imagine he would have been a fan of yours, Tori! Cheers!
@@michaelcreel106 on the other hand, I can't tell you when I first heard Holdsworth. We were listening to Tempest, Soft Machine, Gong, etc.. hearing all this amazing stuff that was coming out.. Allan emerged from all that over a couple different bands, Tony Williams, Bruford,, and his appearance on Enigmatic Ocean. ...then IOU.. ha! I'll not forget where and when I caught the opening riff of that!
I don't know why, but the truck rock portion on lead voice reminds me the style of Eric Johnson and Vitto Bratta combined. I'm listening to everything as a whole for the first time, just listening to the song. Just relaxing not analyzing, just taking everything in, when that immediately popped into my head. Very cool!
Well, I've been a fan of Eric's for a long time, not even just the playing or note choices there, but the tone production especially.... Eric gets what is arguably one of the greatest electric guitar lead sounds of all time... If you're into a sound that's aesthetically beautiful, that is...
My phone service provider must want me to buy a new phone since it's too weak to open your link to the truck commercial video. That's how they roll, when the phone starts going on the fritz after a year or so you're supposed to run out and buy a new one, no ad or commercial necessary. But your "jingle" was quite enjoyable and I would just jump on whatever is being sold hearing that. ❤
The progression is basically some type of pseudo-hans Zimmer thing... I actually heard that on a commercial just prior to doing the video, that's where the idea came from, LOL
2025 starts with 'good vibration' videos 🤙Thank you, it is uplifting ! (about that, I need to grab some tone improving device...I'm not sure I can ask of my friends to lend me theirs...my life is complicated now. I think, in the end, I'll clean my flat instead.)
I think with the digital equipment you have to just sit there and mess with it mess with the guitar etc until it just..... some kind of weird mojo happens,
@@TorySlusher I'm getting out of this funny dilemma thinking my 'non optimally resonating instrument' is good for building up stronger fingers and a better technique (much needed), ...I'll save the money form the vibrational improvement device to get a Strandberg at some point (hearing one in your videos is possibly a factor here 😉...GAS)
PUDDY TAT! 🤩😍🤩 omg you sound amazing as always. Are you still giving lessons on your website? I've never even visited it. I need to go there. Someone needs to show me how y'all are doing that right hand piano tapping. Or I will die. 😂
Imo, after adding that to the basic clean sound, it ends up sounding kind of silly... For what I'm trying to do, I just need the best tone possible. Using those types of effects I think works better when you're in a band and you're maybe backing up a singer or maybe another player, so yeah I might use different sounds when I'm like backing up a horn player or something... But also, sometimes I use the synth patches for the same purpose as this, so that kind of does better than just adding an effect... Then you have like full on polyphonic analog synthesizer, versus just some little modulation device etc
Super nice! I'm already a big fan from UK. As a musician myself I was always interested in simplicity and "catchy" tunes, swinging from Europa (Santana) to Firth of Fifth (Genesis) flute theme. From The Godfather Love Theme to Billy Cobham's Stratus and Jeff Beck's Led Boots. Have you been interested in composing something simple but majestic? I found it extremely difficult.
6415 and Ab0 de V of V makes me want to go buy something... I thought about truck before seeing "truck" below in comments....Its kind of like pink floyd without wanting to take a nap.... theres hope, people I work around dont play the music they like when offered, granted I got a lot of blues/rock/funk/soul/country and skip some of the bruford or weather report / passport stuff if it gets too tension istic. Sometimes think I may have become a bit of a jazz snob but mostly van halen just plays a few chords and it gets old after years
Is that your favorite drum drum pad device ? It sounds so good almost like a real drummer the way you play it but then you have magic finger so .pit might not work for my stubby nubs.
.... You've hit on it there, that's struggle, isn't it? I guess there's many factors, what you just uploaded previous to that, you probably don't want two songs back to back that have roughly the same key center etc there's a lot of different things to consider....
I'm afraid to, they're probably going to put me on a list or something, here comes some sort of mentally handicapped department to "take care of me" or something
I forgot to add, "...and this is when it's a truck commercial", here: ua-cam.com/video/6C3cbC2dtZg/v-deo.html

You’re the best Tory! All the cool jazz cats know
I liked the whole thing but, that section from around 2:45 to 2:55, man.... that was so sweet!
You made my screen crack. And I liked it.
One note sounded like a ring modulator . . .

@@livebassngames Could be. Distortion pedals go crazy if you play intervals other than 5ths, 4ths, or octaves . . . .
That solo was killer Tory. Getting some nice pedal steel vibes

I start to see a pattern, a thumbnail showing a seagull and the word duck, a cat with the note penguin to it. Animal rebranding is a thing.
I couldn't think of anything else when I was designing the thumbnail which seem to indicate "hey, this is more of a zany video".
