As a baby/toddler, my favourite sleeping stuffed animal was a giant blue patchwork bear that was bigger than I was until I was 4. I loved it. I kept it until it was literally falling apart (you couldn't touch the fabric anymore as it would just give way). I was 57 when I finally said goodbye to it.
I wasn't expecting to cry watching this but omg, I started crying during Airi's birthday. I loved watching family interact with her and just such precious memories. ❤ October went so fast for me I couldn't believe it! I hope you and your family are doing well!
The yearly message is a beautiful suggestion from your mother. My husband and I write a letter to our son every year on his birthday. It's sealed and we don't read each others at all. ❤ We have them stored in his baby book for his 18th birthday where he will ideally have 18 letters from each parent. He kust turned 4 and I was so emotional writing a reflection on the past year and seeing the letters stack up is so lovely 😍
My little guy turned 8 in Seeptember, Reina. Watching this video, especially the ending, had me crying. They're little only for so long then before you know it they're losing teeth and being independent and it becomes surreal again... 😅 I don't care if you don't upload as often as you used to. For the scrapbook idea, and the money thing…instead of taping money into the book, maybe you guys can put it into some sort of trust or savings account that would allow it to increase via interest over the years, and on the final page of the book tape the card into an envelope and surprise her with the account then? I don’t know much about how banking in Japan works but I’m guessing they have similar stuff to western banks?
Man time really does go by so fast, Happy birthday to the lovely Airi!!!! May her years be filled with so much joy and love that extends out to the rest of the family with hopes for good health and prosperity. It’s so touching the idea of doing a memory book to give her when she turns 18!! I’m sure regardless of how put together or we’ll organized it is, the heart will be there and she’ll know. My mother passed about a year ago from ovarian cancer and honestly all the little mementos and keepsakes I’ve been able to keep with me since mean so much since we’ve had to move a lot and really struggled for the last years there was only so much we could do. All the photos and memories became even more precious since which was somewhat unfortunate because she hated photos and was always camera shy. You can’t put a price on things like that. Thank you for continuing to share your journey with us and I wish your family the best in these times!

We're hoping to take a family trip next year to make up for all the missed celebrations! Maybe even to Star Wars land in LA!

Dopamine is a hell of a drug, in nearly every sense, its incredibly helpful and rejuvenating to us. Glad it helped your dad.

Reina & Mike, Happy Anniversary to you both, my old friends. it's been 2 years now since mom passed from cancer but, as sick as she got, she would not let it keep her down. still missing her everyday. she would be so proud of how i have made myself more self sufficient. take care all of you and god bless.

My little one is catching up. at 6 months, Would you consider doing baby food recipes and things? id love to see more of what Japanese moms feed their kids, We stared leadweening and I've been trying to feed my baby everything so she's not allergic to everything, We eat alot of Japanese food but I've never really thought about Japanese baby food recipes.
