MAG welding 2CV rusted footwell - So Oldt

In this video I am restoring a rusted footwell of a Citroen 2 CV . I am using the MAG spot welding method. This is an authorized method in the car inspection in Belgium. This method is used because of a low heat output. The sheet metal does not get hardened. Hardened sheet metal can crack and is not flexible.

I have found 5mm (hole) plug welding to be reliable. If the arc, and wire, do not strike the base metal immediately, the hole can be filled and the appearance is successful fusion but it easily fails under test. I use 6 or 6.8mm hole which gives more positive results. Wth respect. GB
