Hard to say, he did take a lot of punishment in the later stages of his career. Realistically, he should have quit after the 2nd Nelson fight as he never appeared the same fighter after what happened to Garcia. It looked like his heart was no longer in boxing, but it was his career and livelihood. Maybe a psychologist could have helped him get over the tragedy and continue boxing like he had before, but who knows? It must be difficult, impossible for some to get over such a tragedy that you've inadvertently caused.
I was a big fan of the ruelas brothers as a kid growing watching boxing in the early to mid 90s

Nelson was a hard puncher. He and Salvador Sanchez , imo, was a great fight. Azumah took it on short notice or the results may have been different.
I'm big fan of Azumah Nelson but Gabrial Ruelas won the first fight with Azumah Nelson Without a doubt
