Mines coming today along with 3070ti, upgrading from 3060ti, Just so i can at least experience quad HD, This review has definitely made me feel like it was the right choice! I was so worried about if i'd made a mistake, but this review tops them all, very in depth, very easy to understand, No big massive nerd words used to confuse us peasants! Thanks mate!

@@Madhattadnb nothing mate to he honest, great monitor so far, got a new gpu too, just having issues with a stutter/pause every 5 seconds but only but like half a second, but us gamers always notice something like that haha, will fix soon, but monitor is GREAT.

How's your 3070ti holding up I've got a strix 3070 and seen a few 3070 benchmark comments saying it's abit lack luster but other saying it's fine... I don't play games with Ray tracing etc I play games like dayz hunt showdown etc so I'm curious if I need to update my gpu cheers 👍
@@Madhattadnb 3080ti would be your only viable upgrade I'd say your pretty fine with that card now mate, don't take what you read in online to heart bud alot of naysayers defending big brands, i had a pny 3060ti cheap as cheaps brand, and it was a perfect little thing in all its glory, if it's performing for you, then perfect don't change a thing :D

Great review bro, bought this today and very happy with it. Agree on the points made and also agree that the positives and additional features far outway any downsides. I've found gaming incredibly immersive and I'm glad I bought it.

Great review... but sadly after two years my monitor has a ghost touching the soundbar it keeps changing the volume or muting the sound without touching the soundbar...

I've solved the minimal ghosting problem on my Huawei Mate View GT 34.
Set the Monitor RGB to:
RED = 97
GREEN =100
BLUE = 97
Overdrive = Level 3
Brightness = 47
Contrast = 80
On my graphics card, RX6700xt, in the Radeon software settings, edit custom color:
Disable Color Temperature
Brightness + 5
Contrast = 120
Saturation to = 110 / 115
And happy Warzone 2 with no ghosting!
Note: It also helps my games see more clearly in darker areas.

Hey there. Just a tip, try setting the monitors picture mode to sRGB and set overdrive to level 3. This removes black smearing and reduces ghosting a bit extra. try it out for yourself with the UFO test going on your monitor. It's a pretty big improvement compared to the other picture modes. And you can still adjust contrast and saturation in your GPU settings if you want.
Is the sound bar removable?
I just got this today, but when I connected it with my thinkpad with the usbc chord, it doesn’t charge my laptop. Does the monitor not have charging capabilities?
How do you turn the sound on? I plugged DP cable abd mini jack to audio socket and zero, nothing. My driver info says that audio goes with hdmi... How do I do that using dp??
does this monitor support pip mode? If I want to connect two pc's and view them side by side?

My question exactly.
when i hold the button up (pull towards me) i get screen button locked. If i push the button forward then nothing happens no matter how long i hold. And i dont see the AMD free sync menu just when clicking the normal settings. Any ideas?
İ couldn't open HDR settings. I get a message saying no HDR support do you have any idea
For the G-synch compatible, did you install a driver ?
Nope, just enabled FreeSync on the monitor and the setting showed up in Nvidia Control panel. Also make sure your Graphics card supports FreeSync/G-sync and for Full disclosure however I am running the Nvidia Studio drivers as apposed to the game ready ones, I don't think this would have an impact but id thought id mention it! - Rob

You can buy it from Huawei without the sound bar, it’s called the “standard edition”. Yes it does have vesa mounts. All details are on their website

this was my first ever monitor so I can't really compare it to another monitor. Im using this monitor as my work monitor for multi-tasking and more screen real estate. To be honest I've been enjoying this monitor whether I'm watching movies, doing multi-task work, etc. and it works great. I have a MacBook air m1 and this monitor really does the job done. I like it, some people don't but for me, it's already perfect.
How are the black bars on the sides when on full screen, I’m worried I won’t get used to it

Currently I own a Samsung 4k 32 inch space monitor . Is this a good upgrade ?
I don’t intend to use it for gaming, but for studio most of the time ! So the question is : Is the lower resolution a real downgrade ? Or should I consider buying it for the extra 2inches ? Thanks !
We used The Huawei GT monitor side by side a samsung g70a 4k 27" monitor and both side by side the resolution difference is very minimal, both look great!
how is it on the eyes? do you think, there is more strain with this monitor compared to Dell, Samsung IPS monitors?
If you don't run it full overdrive its very comfortable to look at for long periods of time, also I Dark Mode everything really helps with that too!

I've been using it (Huawei MateView GT 34) for about one week. Yesterday I realized that its adapter getting really hot. It even make the wooden table hot. I use Asus all in one for years with a bigger adapter and there's nothing here something like this. Is it acceptable, normal or is it a sign for something bad? What should I do?
The power supply on our unit gets warm but not worryingly hot, I would maybe suggest contacting customer support and asking them if you think your power supply might be faulty.
hey mate, what is the wallpaper on the screen at the begining ? And does this screen allowed, to unplug ans fix it on a VEGA 100, without this ugly tripod... ?
I'm quite torn between this and LG 34GP83A-B /Lg 34GN850-B (both models are almost identical). Any perspective on this as the LG one is IPS? Considering that both are of the same price here in Canada, which one would you recommend?

Yes. Comes with and without soundbar.
love the review, got a question, with the usb c can you get full 165hz at 3440 x 1440 resolution or is that resolution with that refresh rate only achievable using the 1.4 displayPort cable?

Only the Display Port connection works with full 165hz unfortunately. USB C or HDMI you are limited to 60 hertz
@@PhotoBiteUK thats not true, i am now using usb C and i get 165hz. and the hdmi is limited to 100hz not 60, but yes the display port is 165hz also

PSA For all owners of this monitor!!! You can completely get rid of black smearing by setting the Picture Mode to sRGB. There will still be some regular ghosting of course, no more than in other Picture Modes though, but it'll be MUCH less apparent when the black smearing isn't accentuating it. I was shocked to see the black smear completely disappear when I had the UFO ghosting test up while testing picture mode settings on my Mateview GT 34. Overdrive Level 3 by the way.
Way better gaming experience after switching to that. I don't understand how the monitor can negate black smearing so well in that mode, and not the other modes, but regardless I recommend every owner of this monitor to try it out for themselves, since it's an absolute game changer when gaming.
Two questions:
1. Can the sound bar be removed?
2. How does this compare to the Samsung Odyssey G7 32 inch?
u can buy it without the soundbar i see it and im just watching to see if its 4k its not
1. There is a Soundbar-less version but it is attached to the stand so to remove it you would have to buy a third party Vesa Mount stand
2. I have the G70A (27" 4k 144') so not sure how handy this info is but... the Samsung has much less smearing and much more uniform look with better viewing angles... it is however not a 32" monster widescreen which is why I love gaming on the huawei... but in the colour department both displays are very respectable for work the samsung may be slightly more accurate however and IPS is better for that aswell (almost twice the price though!)
Just bought this monitor the 34" version. I cannot seem to get 165hz at 3440 x 1440. Only 60hz is offered?

also do you think we can power this monitor with a 100w charger instead, the power supply it comes with is very chunky and big
I believe the power supply is giving a non standard voltage so I do not think you could power it off any other adaptor

it has amd freesync which still works with nvidia graphics card (hence the name free sync), it's not as smooth as g sync i imagine but it works nonetheless
AMD Freesync must be enabled and you must have a compatible graphics card running over display port only, as high refresh rates are not supported over HDMI or USB C in this instance... If you are finding the AMD Freesync setting difficult to find its pretty hidden as you have to hold right on the joystick of the monitor for around 10 seconds or so to show the setting in the picture menus on the display. As I said in the video G-sync is not an advertised compatibility with this monitor so it might not work for everyone.

The wider aspect ratio would mean a ps5 would have big black bars on either side, also the ps5 does not currently support 1440p resolutions so you would be forced to run at 1080p. so I would not recommend this monitor for ps5

If you got the version without the sound bar you will have to connect speakers or headphones to your monitor using the audio out jack on the back.
my huawei mateview gt 27" has constant screen tearing, terrible scan lines and top right corner pixels are dead (drivers are all up to date and i have a rtx4070)

Nvidia added support for freesync with the 2xxx series cards so a couple of years now. They didn't make a song and dance about.
I try it with PS5 , it limited to 1080 60 FPS !, is there somthing i can do ?
PS5 does not support ultrawide monitors and on the monitor higher refresh rates are not available over HDMI only display port. There is an upcoming update to PlayStation 5 however to allow for 1440p displays which could possibly work although probably still at the 60hz and not ultrawide unfortunately

Yes it is. I have the exact same setup. Just make sure to run on it on the the display port of your 3060 ti - not hdmi. You will get the full 165hz refresh rate. Also make sure you use the freesync/G- sync option as shown in the vid.
The problem is no with ps5 and Xbox just work on 60 fram
can't seem to find gsync option on mine. :(

@@justmeditate98yearsagoedit23 i found it. I just missed the step where you had to turn on amd freesync from the monitor’s settings.
My Monitor has gone to 59.97hz, AMD freesync is turned on, the colour option is greyed out. In my settings on my pc no other hz settings show up, only 59.97hz. Its terrible this monitor, if you restart your pc it mutes itself. If you let the screen go dark by not touching your mouse or keyboard it mutes itself. Its a constant battle this monitor. I paid 500quid for it aswell. Wounding isnt it. how do I get my refresh rate back above 100? I'm gonna have to send this back if I can't get it back to 120hz.
Displayport cable
On my ps5 it only runs at 60 hz with hdmi 2.1 but with the same cable runs 165hz on my pc. Can someone pls help

I just purchased this amazing monitor. This curved screen is unparallel to anything that's in the current market. Unfortunately, the curved screen makes me dizzy after 10mins looking at the screen.
I want to purchase this soon , from your experience is it still a good buy for 2023 ?
@Sage2Dope the product is amazing but I realize any curved screen doesn't work well for me. If the curve doesn't give u a headache, go for it!

this monitor CAN do 10 bit at 144+ hz
all you need to do is add an displayID block with the original timings and a higher refresh rate
i got mine up to 158.14, so yeah, why waste the advertised extra hertz when you can lose out on only 7...
uwqhd va 158hz 10 bit freesync with hdr curved panel with great colors out the box and acceptable ghosting on level 3 for 400 bucks, not bad huawei
*UPDATE*
since this monitor will become more widespread over time (discounts, used market etc.) i see it as my duty to spread some info on tweaks ive found over time.
-it is possible to go all the way to the advertised 165hz (and a bit above) with 10 bit (including hdr+freesync). so essentially as advertised.
-i found it best to trim the freesync range to ~75-165hz. A LOT less flickering at the cost of MINIMAL stuttering at certain frequencies (youd have to be stutter-hunting to find it)
if interested, i may share an EDID override in form of a .exe file. one would simply download, execute, restart pc and reset all settings for the monitor (as always, dont trust strangers on the internet, especially not with a .exe file. for the techsavvy i could share .bin files instead)

Hi! Yes the colour accuracy was a surprise to me about this screen, now its not perfect there are definitely better options for colour grading out there but you could get by on this display but its made more for gaming.
Does this have Bluetooth?
No it does not
I bought this, but with a regular console, this doesn’t perform well. At all, tried every setting, it’s just terrible with console, definitely a PC Monitor, that’s where it will shine.
Does it work with a ps5?
For me it’s not the best I can only get 60 FPS. I think it’s because of the hdmi it only supports hdmi 2.0 or 1.4 the ps5 comes with a 2.1. so you can’t get 120 hz or FPS. But it’s really good for everything else.
I got this monitor. The ghosting is terrible. I cant even play games or watch videos now
Watch out. I purchased this monitor In France. It broke down after 4 months. It was sent for repair, but I had to wait for 3 monhs and when I got it back, the screen was cracked due to poor packaging. Huawei broke the monitor but won’t replace it. This is how miserable their service is. Too bad, I should have picked up a more reliable brand which cares about his customers. Otherwise the product was OK, not that great and a little cheap, but in line with the price.

Why do you need more anyway?
beware everyone, I have a recent Dell laptop (dell inspiron 16 plus 7620), its hdmi output is currently managing an external display (AOC IPS 4K) at 4K 60hz
BUT
with this display I can't get the 3440x1440 resolution, the max is 2560x1440.
I bought an HDMI 2.1 to be sure: same result.
I tried HDMI/DP adapter: no signal.
So I think that with this display you have to use Displayport, so you have to have one on your PC.
It means It will never work full resolution on a laptop, you have to have a desktop PC with Nvidia or other Gfx card that has Displayport output.
I also noticed that a Nvidia RTX3000 is not able to deliver 165Hz so this marketed refresh rate could hardly be reached.
I read the doc, read online, it is writen nowhere that HDMI won't allow full resolution.

you have to use a display to display cable.
Your laptop doesn't need display port, you can use USB-C to get the ultrawide resolution too

@@azimuth73 I think it depends if yoy have the model with or without the soundbar. Models with the soundbar have a 2x USB-C, one for power and the second for the display. While the model without the soundbar only has the one for power.

If you mean over USB-C, Yes. Any device that supports display over USB-C should work, but you will be limited in resolution and or refresh rate as the 165hz mode is only available over Display Port
