Bruce Thomas signature? From Europe must be good bass or I know you would’ve bought it with all the cool high-end stuff you have. I am lucky though the first base I ever bought for 250 bucks was my maple glow 78 Rickenbacker. As as you know through my videos on UA-cam Steve Nordstedt Plays and Sings. Because I’m a Geddy fan. The first thing I did when I went to his concerts with my binoculars to study how he was playing because they didn’t have tablature in 1981 for bass at least not from rush. What is the study how he was playing certain songs and realized he had a bad ass 2 bridge on his Rick so I went out and got one. But when I was stationed in the Air Force in Hawaii in 1992 I got tired of my Rick sound and bought an active or Laney and I had them put in the back pick up that I play over but I’m getting ready to take it out and put the original pick up back in it so it sounds like a Rick, since I play my Geddy Lee jazz 2005 Japan model. I just had it souped up. I had the frets leveled and crowned, replaced the old nut with a Graph Tech Nut. It plays much better and easier. Because unlike you I’m still working on YYZ’s 1 of the 3 runs.
Yes. The Bass Centre has a series of signature basses based on British bass heroes of the day. I took a chance on one and am very pleased with it. They are actually manufactured in Korea with final set-up being done in their shop. They are very reasonably priced, especially considering the quality. Your arsenal sounds quite nice. Take care!
@@TJH3113 From what I read, he sees the record as an unfortunate contractual obligation. He was at odds with the band, there was some miscommunication about what songs would be recorded, and allegedly he was abusing drugs and alcohol at this time. I remember buying the tape as a kid and being blown away. It is unfortunate that his feelings for the record trump those of his fans.
Thanks Mike. I'm playing it just slightly sharp of 440, but, I believe, it was actually recorded with the guitar and bass tuned down (a whole and a half-step) to C#.
In the first three minutes, the song is pretty cool but kind of repetitive, and then comes a nice, nice bridge and things get really serious/terrifying. And what about the conclusion? Talk about songs within a song... Long live Geezer Butler! Nice job!

Love that album. I was kinda the opposite when it came to tuning... i tuned to whatever allowed me to play open strings! What? E-flat? I can’t get down there! De-tune. No telling what screwy things I did.
I remember going crazy trying to learn my first couple of Kiss songs. I was like, "Why is this so hard.", but I did my best to learn them in standard tuning.
This cover is amazing! I’m trying to get better playing with fingers, I find Sabbath really good for practicing finger picking (though most of it is still way above my skill level)

I had the frets leveled and crowned, replaced the old nut with a
Graph Tech Nut.
Take care!
Awesome video.
Love it when you play without the track 👍
Thanks a lot!
Thank you so much for this, freaking outstanding! I hate to ask the same question twice, but just to make sure, you are in standard tuning?
It was my pleasure and thank you Paul! Yes I am playing this in standard tuning, I’m not 100% sure of what tuning the recording was actually done in.
COOL
THANKS
loved it :)
I’m glad to hear it! Thank you.
Speak of the Devil is such a great album, and it is a shame that Ozzy doesn't want to release it.
I agree. Why would he release it? Is it not available anymore?
@@TJH3113 From what I read, he sees the record as an unfortunate contractual obligation. He was at odds with the band, there was some miscommunication about what songs would be recorded, and allegedly he was abusing drugs and alcohol at this time. I remember buying the tape as a kid and being blown away. It is unfortunate that his feelings for the record trump those of his fans.
Great video >>>is this song in standard tuning sir ?
Thanks Mike. I'm playing it just slightly sharp of 440, but, I believe, it was actually recorded with the guitar and bass tuned down (a whole and a half-step) to C#.
In the first three minutes, the song is pretty cool but kind of repetitive, and then comes a nice, nice bridge and things get really serious/terrifying. And what about the conclusion? Talk about songs within a song... Long live Geezer Butler! Nice job!
Thanks for the great synopsis!
Killer tone dude!! What strings are you using? And again, thanks for posting such great quality stuff!
Thanks Patrick. D'Addario EXL170's on this bass. I use EXL220's on most everything else.
I'm a beginner bass player with one bass and no Halloween masks lol, but if really want to see how a certain song is played, I turn to your channel, really no tabs are needed. You can always see what you're doing. Thank you
Wow, thanks so much for the great vote of confidence. I appreciate it. Sometimes, I'll run into someone in a public place who recognizes me from my channel and my wife has asked a few people what they like about my channel. What you said is the the most common response - that they can clearly see what both hands are doing.
I'm infatuated with that bass. Again.
Me too!
This whole time I was thinking of Deep Purple lmao! Troy who is your favorite Heavy Metal band, and I mean Heavy?
I never really into Metal, so Black Sabbath would probably be it. I do love Ghost, but I consider them to be more Pop-Metal.
👍👏👏👏muito bom
Thank you!!!
Definition of "Power Bass" ? Terence "Geezer" Butler
Truth!
This cover is amazing! I’m trying to get better playing with fingers, I find Sabbath really good for practicing finger picking (though most of it is still way above my skill level)
Thanks a lot! You can do it!
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
🙏🙏🙏
this tune like the entire albums is tuned to C# a step and a half down from 440.
Ah, I may turn down a half step every now and then, but you’ll never hear me tuning down that low.
@@TJH3113 very few people ever do except in more extreme forms of music.

I tune to C# on this one.
Ain’t nobody got time for that!
