Walz seriously becomes really invested almost immediately with Maria. Its literally within a moment 9:00 and bam. Suddenly he's saying sweet nothings like he meant it. And not just to get in your pants. I think this developing romance could have been done a lil more elegantly. Like Maria saves his life or something. Something that would make him want to serve her. This whole arc of wearing Maria down until she stops resisting and midway he just happens to want her more than her body is really forced. Like what has Maria shown Walz that she's a keeper? That she's damaged goods that he wants to care for and nurse back to health?
Late to the party but it probably has something to do with his own childhood, being nothing but a noble bastard and then street urchin with no one to trust. Its likely that he is as affection starved as Crymaria but is mentally stable enough thanks to the freedom he gained. He likely also understood that someone as damaged as Crymaria needs to get 'hit' with the most blunt form of affection for her to understand it. Anything less would be percieved as something else.
It’s a shame we never got Walz as a playable character/vehicle in the post-game/DLC like we did with Crymeria (and other characters on the antagonists’ side).
I want a game from the Empire's perspective on the Second Europan War. Walz and the Imperial CO in VC1 seem like the kind of people I want to see. To show the aristocratic in-fighting within the Empire. Like smaller houses who believe that military support and victories would increase their standing within it. It'll be nice, but will never happen. The franchise is keen to make the Empire the automatic worse faction in the franchise.
(big maybe) Hmm, I think it'll be far eastern country next. With Dr. clementia foerster disappearing from Gallian land (at the end of VC2) she would take her research to some foreign land. *hahahaha
I love all the very understated worldbuilding we get for the Empire: there's an Emperor, but he doesn't seem to have a lot of political power: most of the actual authority lies in the hands of ambitious generals like Maximilian and Belgar. It makes Maximilian's gambit make a lot of sense: he knows that Imperial blood is worth precious little by itself, but it's still useful as one card in an otherwise strong hand of military leadership. On the flipside, you've got vassal-states like Fhirald, which seems to share the larger Empire's high regard for chivalric honour (and which, despite its proud use of cultural signifiers like animal skulls, seems to be fairly well-integrated into the larger Imperial culture), but which *also* hopes for greater autonomy.
This game is pretty gut wrenching. When they say it's a war game, it's a cold blooded war game. I'm actually somewhat surprised it got away with a "T" rating.
Prince Noctis from Final Fantasy XV and Nico Robin from One Piece as an item, and the only saving graces for the Empire. Glad to see not all Imps are totalitarian douchebags.
Clementia actually has been researching on countless children for years in the Empire and Selvaria was among the first to reach her full potential. She is also behind the development and study of weaponizing Valkyrias as Human power sources and even artifically creating Valkyrias using DNA found in ancient ruins. You can find a biography for Foster in VC3 that expands on background information. Aliasse was not among the first but she was the only one Froster manage to take with her when she defected to the Federation so she can continue her research in creating her ideal Valkyria.

Crymarias story feels like a long confession from the developers how they kind of fucked up with Selvaria in SV 1.
I'm Walz, and this is Crymeria, and this is her faithful cockblocker, Fenrir! XD
Sometimes I feel like Walz is Erwin Rommel reincarnated into the VC world
I just play the game recently and agree it like Sega try say : here our version of field Marshall rommel in anime how about it v:

There is something charming about his genuine "love at first sight".
Villain version of Welkin and Alicia. Awesome!!!
marxyouth besides personality
marxyouth they didn’t turn out to be so bad in the end. The REAL villain was Belgar.
This is also the complete opposite of Maximillian and Selvaria.
They are more alike than you know actually. Well it's a lot like if Maximilian actually cared about Sylveria from game 1 too. Walz melts her heart. :)
Adam Block Maximilian only saw Selvaria as a tool of destruction.
Still more character development than my entire life

She reminds me so much of Camilla from Fire Emblem.

I thought Walz would have been a more interesting main character. It would have been interesting to see things from the other side.
I love them both
Sadly walz isnt playable
Maybe DLC :( but probably not
Zipping all around the battle field :P.
Love the characters and the story but Crymaria's theme is killing me it's too funny.
