  • Patton Oswalt didn't know what to do with himself after the passing of his wife, and speaking publicly about his grieving process was certainly far from his mind, until eventually he remembered... "What I know how to do is go on stage". What ensued was his latest Netflix special 'Annihilation'.

Patton, you'll never see this, but reading your wife's book _I'll Be Gone In the Dark_ was so moving, and getting to know her even just through that was amazing. You married a wonderful woman. I'm glad you two got the time together that y'all did

Something I noticed is Patton seems to be wearing two wedding rings: one on his left hand and one on his right, which I think is a beautiful way to honor his late wife.

I really like how his first time back on stage he just went up and talked and didn't worry about being funny. That was a really good choice. It was really brave of him to perform when feeling terrible and it was wise of him to know that working would set him in motion of getting his life back.

Heartening to hear. As an actor who went on tour 8 weeks after my fiancé died suddenly I can relate to those fears and anxieties about what other people might think, but knowing I just had to do what I had to do to survive and not fall apart. What an amazing man. ❤️

Hey, Sam. I wanted to say, I LOVE your show. Wow, what amazing conversations. These are such intimate and beautiful moments, pulling back the curtain on some exceptional people.
If I can offer one bit of constructive feedback: I know you have to condense the interview to clips, but the editing makes it feel like the guest is always interrupting you. For the first 90 videos I watched, I thought "Wow, these guests are arrogant and rude. They think they know his questions and don't have to let him finish." Then I realized it was the edit.
Thank you again for creating such amazing content!

It was brilliant Patton, people that go to your shows and watch your specials love you, they're in it for the full ride. I thought it was perfect how you transitioned into talking about it. There are not many comedians that can make you well up and laugh at the same time. I also loved how you would interject Michelle's sense of humour into your show. Your roles in Justified and Agents of Shield, just awesome. The polish woman from the airport and the haunted house. Bwahahahaha
