Thanks for the look around with the lights on. All 3 of the times I've been fortunate enough to attend this venue were just the best shows. It really is the place to see an industrial or metal act, if those are genres you enjoy.

Thanks for more history about the Commodore. It must have been a lively place in the day. You are privileged to have been given access to this
    building.

The horse-hair under the floor was great to dance on. Nothing else came close.

Great video! It's such an awesome venue. I've not been there for ages and I hardly recognize it. I don't know if it's because of the renovation or because there's actually sunlight? I saw countless bands there through the 80's. I don't know what it's like now but if you were on the floor to watch a band the floor would bounce several inches and you would bounce in the air even if you were standing still. There was a record store downstairs called Odyssey Imports and they'd do record signings there before the show sometimes. There was a shop called Fox and Fluevog downstairs and they were the first shop to sell Doc Martens boots years before they became mainstream. Before that we had to order them from England. Vancouver and this block of Granville specifically was the place to be in the 80's. Thanks for doing this. Cheers,

There was always the sunlight that could get in. It just looks a little weird to see it in the day as most people have only been in there at night. But the windows were always there, but blinds often drawn during the performances.

Ramones and the Cramps. Hardcore 80. Iggy. DEVO. Peaches. Lots of great music and bad bouncers. Bouncy too.

A fun video, Jean Claude, thank you. I've seen dozens of great acts over the years at the Commodore. Most of my favourite shows were enjoyed there, many of them stars before they got big. There's something about the place that brings out the best in the entertainers that appear on her hallowed stage. One glorious night, St Patrick's 2005, I graced that stage with my 'brothers' in our band. The thrill of standing on that stage where I'd seen so many do before us was astonishing. When we'd finished and we heading back to our dressing room, the stage manager mentioned that we were one of the best bands she'd seen in her time there. I think I was naturally high on that compliment for months!
If you're still looking for Aaron, I'm friends with his mum. I can put in a word for you ....

My first show at the Commodore was the Tea Party in 1993. Amazing that I got in as I was underage. :-) I had long hair and I covered my face with it. 2 Dudes behind me were peaking on acid. :-)
