Thank you so much for this, I’ve just moved into a new flat and the boiler pressure was 0. This was so easy to understand, and now I have hot water back! ☺️
I wish I'd found your video a year ago. My caravan boiler was flashing F1 and being a new owner, I didn't know what to do, so I asked the plumber who was on site reconnecting another caravan if he could help. He did exactly what you've just done and charged me £40!! I'm all for people making a living and should he have had to come out, fair enough, but that was taking the p**s for 5 minutes work 😡 Needless to say I have now connected the filling loop myself should the need ever arise. The plumber who services my house boiler was disgusted when I told him and it was him in fact who showed me how to connect the loop. So thank you for taking the time to share this video. No doubt some plumbers watching this, not all I hasten to add, will be furious to see "easy money" slipping away.
Thank you so much! My boiler stopped working soon after installation. I knew I had to bring the pressure up, but did not know what the loop (which the workmen had left on the side) was for! I followed your video bit by bit and everything is back to normal!
No hot water this moning & I noticed the pressure was 1/2 a bar, then i remembered saving your video on this subject to a playlist.. Although my loop was on. there are no levers to turn the pressure up but i noticed a large screw in the flow pipe so as soon as i slightly turned this i could hear the flow and 👌 the pressure is now 1 1/2 bar as recomended by you. Thank you very much for this valuable tip Mr Dereton. 👋👋
Thanks for this. We have a problem with our mains water quality and the water company asked us to check our filling loop was OFF. This video makes it clear what they were talking about. Apparently germs can grow in a loop and contaminate your tap water if you leave it open.
Life saver!!! Had an appointment with my boiler ppl today to come out and put pressure in boiler bcuz thy removed the pipe just for them to cancel today with another appointment earliest being Monday it’s -8 in my house atm so this video just saved me THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Just came along your video as my boiler was flashing 0.0 and my housing was not being helpful at all. Thanks for showing me how to connect the loop as I didn’t even know it was on top of the boiler you explain it well and clear keep doing a fantastic job 👍
Thankyou so much for this video ! I looked at the offical manual, the website of the company that makes the boiler and all over the internet & found nothing helpful. I watched your video once and I've sorted it 👍
Thank you so much for your video it helps us single mum to fixed the boiler when we need help or of no one is around. Your video is so useful i thank you from the bottom of my heart 👍👍👍👍
How do you tell which 2 pipes to connect? There are a few with taps under boiler! Watched loads of these vids and not one says which if the loop has been left disconnected
@@dereton33 thanks. I’ve just refitted a new one and apart from a few air noises all was good. The air noises soon disappeared after running the taps for a bit.
Hi good video. where can i get one of those little black valve taps, for a old worcester boiler. seems the guy who serviced boiler has broke one of the two, so cant adjust pressure as before. Thanks in advance.
I want to change the filling loop on my boiler as even when locked off water seems to be creeping in adding pressure. Do I need to drain the system down or just shut off the water mains?
Hit there, I don't have any taps on my filling loop so I don't know what to do. My pressure is down and I went to top it up and saw that there's no tap but above the loop and higher up the pipes under the boiler there are two taps.....help! I don't know whether I turn the taps of use a screw driver on the filling loop. Sorry if this sounds ridiculous....
When you repressurise the boiler do you have to switch it off at the mains first and then repressurise or can you do it when the boiler still has power? Thanks in advance for answering.
Hi I have a boiler I did this and went to 1.5 and started working, however after a few hours I heard a loud noise like a drone and vibrating, and the pressure going to 2. Not sure what I’ve done wrong!
Great video Dereton33 thanks. I have a problem at the moment where the boiler pressure keeps rising too high above 3 bar! I've been trying to turn off boiler, isolate it, drain. Then when i turn off the isolation valve the pressure immediately rises on the bar gauge almost into the red. I turn the boiler back on and within a few minutes it's at 3 bar or higher again. Do you think it's a faulty filling loop or could it be something else? I have a Vaillant Ecotec boiler by the way.
Hi. Can you help me please. My worcester boiler dropped the pressure to 0 and i tried on youtube but cant find a solution. It doesnt have the keyless nor white key.
Hi mate . Good videos as always . My tenants boiler has pressure valve replaced and new expansion vessel due to leakage . He did not replace the filling loop which he told the tenant is blocked. Hence the water overfilling and pressure in increasing to 2.9 bars . There is also lots of loud rumming drumming noise from the pipes and water leaking into the outside from the boiler pipe . Is the air in the system as well as the filling loop an issue or something different.
As a qualified plumbing and heating engineer for 15 years the answer is yes u should bleed the rads after topping up, wen you bleed the rads the pressure will drop again so need to top up after bleed rads , top up to 1.5 bar ,also if you find your pressure dropping al time that indicates a leak sone were in heating system shouldn't just keep filling it up
Hi Al, thanks for the video. I identified the pressure loop on my boiler with the two black knobs but there is a problem: one knob turns freely but the other is fixed (seemingly on purpose). Just below it on the pipework is a slotted value, like on an isolation valve: should I use that instead of the second black knob?. Also, my boiler has two pressure gauges, one digital and one manual (like yours). Both show slightly different readings. Is one more accurate than the other? Also my radiators have a very simple air venting mechanism, just a nut and a slotted nipple, seems odd? Finally I would like to send you a couple of ££ to help keep the free content flowing - how? Cheers.
Hi Steve, you will need to free the second black knob as they stick shut. Take the black knob off and use a small adjustable spanner to turn it, once free you can put the black knob back on. Use the manual gauge for the pressure reading. The rad vents on the rads are quite normal on certain makes . My donation tab is in the description under the vid, thanks Steve.
Thanks for your videos Dereton 33. Silly question here, but just to confirm, is the filling loop connected to the water inlet pipe and central heating flow pipe? Thanks
Don't get me wrong Which valve did you turn to increase pressure? You showed the gauge going up BUT not showing which one did you turn it on? Poor video. Do it again
@@dereton33 don't be harder on me. I'm not a plumber but your boiler is exactly the same as mine. I had to repeat several times to see which valve you opened to add pressure. I've often wondered if the boiler would blow up if you left the filling loop on! Thanks - really informative
No a safety valve is fitted.
Thank you so much, that was clearer than any of the other videos including my boiler's official site.
Thanks Rani.

@@dereton33 very kind! We're in an emergency so I'm just going to try the two I suspect are the right ones !
Nicely explained. Is it a problem putting air in to the system as the loop won’t have any water in when you connect it.

Valve left filling to long shut off after reaching1.5.

Yes and drain a small amount of water out of the system.

Try disconnecting the filling loop once you have the correct pressure in case one of he filling loop valves is letting by. Sounds faulty.
Hi. Can you help me please. My worcester boiler dropped the pressure to 0 and i tried on youtube but cant find a solution. It doesnt have the keyless nor white key.
You will have to find the cause of the leak first. You may have a filling loop elsewhere.

The PRV is letting by. I would get an engineer in to look at this boiler.
Hi I've ordered a new loop, so will able to reset my boiler, but is it possible my boiler only has one valve to turn instead of 2?
It may have yes.
Thanks - that would make sense - but stupid question but I am going to ask it anyway - I would still connect the loop in the same way at both ends?
Thanks! Just what I needed! Liz
