My kids and I will always love Skyward Sword, so many good memories on the WII.😊
Great video, but A Link To The Past came out two years before Link's Awakening... got your timeline backwards on that one!
This is such a well made overview. Thank you for this!!
Bro, your content is f*cking GREAT! Thanks for putting the time for this content 🙌🏽
Great video! My first Zelda game was also LTTP and it blew my mind. I remember loving how the trees looked. I loved Skyward Sword and the switch version feels like a love letter to the series. Not so much a fan of BOTW, which just feels like too big of a departure from the previous games. To my mind, it felt like a random game with a Zelda skin over it.
I have a huge spot in my heart for Seasons/Ages for the GBC. ❤ The one for the SNES was one of my first ever games. ❤❤ I never knew anything about the story, though. I'm glad to watch this! 😊
I thought Link to the Past came before Links Awakening? As they were trying to work out if they could make Zelda on the Gameboy and borrowed lots of assets from Link to the Past.
You are correct.
My first Zelda experience was Zelda 2! Not my favorite in the franchise, but it holds a special place in my heart.
Check out the Zelda 2 remake that was built from the ground up in Unity. I saw ProJared play it and it was awesome!
I've had a couple First Zelda experiences. Rented wind waker as a kid and didnt get it, played a bit of twilight princess but couldnt get past the first dungeon. Then found nintendocaprisun and watch his play through of Skyward Sword, fell in love, played through it myself, and then went back and played all the rest 😁
Basically Panzer Dragoon next? 👀
we might do Panzer down the line but the next one is a bit more...criminal
@@CulturedVultures sounds good! 😁 If I may, I think the way you've set up this series is great for lesser known franchises. I know not everyone would click on a video they dont know about, so you gotta bring in the viewers with the bigger names they know, but the point stands 😁
Annie are you okay?
Just started 'Link's Awakening' after completing 'Majora's Mask' on the Switch (after way too long).
Hey this is a damn good channel.
Yes, yes it is.
Thanks for this, really appreciate
Majora's mask is life.
Cloud and Tifa Kiss 😘 Before Link and Zelda in a VideoGame
Nice job vulture 👍🏽
remember that when Twilight Princess came out, Okami and Shadow of the Colossus had already been released for the PS2. These two games, inspired by Zelda, brought quite innovative elements, especially in comparison points. The boss battles in Shadow and the gameplay with the wolf in Okami surpassed Twilight Princess in terms of freshness.
I'm glad that after Skyward Sword, Nintendo was able to grasp the concept of an open world like Skyrim and Fallout and tried to learn from those titles. Skyward was great in a lot of ways, but the linearity was awful.
I would like in a future installment to keep the open world but also the dungeons to be more present, as I believe it was the strongest aspect of the zelda games since the Snes to the Skyward Sword.
Link to the Past was released before Link’s Awakening
What a fool
A great series..maybe... the greatest?
Why did yo avoid the portable version? Minish cap and a link between worlds are easy on my top 5
This. The portable Zelda are among the best - especially the ones developed by Capcom. Oracle of Seasons-Oracle of Ages are an unsung masterpiece.
My first Zelda experience was the first entry. I vividly remember my older brother getting upset with me because the NES was outside his bedroom and I left the game on with low health overnight. The beeping made him wake up with a terrible headache.
I can't wait to try tears of the kingdoms soon!
Anyone else have memories of their dad playing the fishing minigame in Ocarina of Time for hours on end?
Mine was him playing some star wars from the beginning over and over because he didn't want to buy a memory card.
No, some of us are that old ourselves.
@@TheScripflipNetworkthat sounds like the most "dad" thing someone could do.
I'm with the .1% that finds Oracle of Ages to be the pinnacle of the series thus far.
Not just Ages. The entire Seasons-Ages experience as a single package. I've recently played through it and was pleasantly surprised by the dynamic levels of ingenuity that Capcom applied to both games - the passwords, the rings, the gasha seeds, the classic trading quest, the animal companions, etc.. it's a magnificent experience. I would also add that Seasons-Ages have among the best dungeons in the series. No item acquired throughout the game goes forgotten and they are instead equally important throughout the games' dungeons - something with which first-party Zelda titles have typically struggled, with great examples being the spinner-top or ball-and-chain from Twilight Princess.
@@supernintendro I was a bit underwhelmed with the emphasis on combat over puzzles in Seasons. I need to go back to Seasons and actually finish it. I made it through Seasons about halfway and then lost interest because it didn't have the same puzzle appeal to me as Ages.
Breath of the Wild was the last game I bought for the WiiU
Twilight Princess is a masterpiece, by far the best Zelda game until now.
Im telling ya now if I press play and hear the words black sheep im unsubbing. Not gonna just here another video with the same repeated story as all the other
Minish Cap is the most overrated in the franchise
What about the OCA-OCA-OCArina of time, Star Platinum?
@@CulturedVultures Not really. People who played Ocarina do point out the flaws it has, but with Minish Cap, nobody does that. Far too many people praise it as the best handheld Zelda game of all time, which… rude, Links Awakening and A Link Between Worlds are right here. They overlook all of the glaring flaws it has, like the dumb Pachinko machine, the stupid medal system that forces you to use a guide, the fact that barely any of the items are really great and intuitive. As far as I see it, the game has only one good dungeon and dungeon item which literally everyone focuses on, and then they just ignore all of the other barely better than mid tier ones
