- The all-new Kushaq SUV will be Skoda's first made-in-India model under its India 2.0 plan. It is based on the India-specific MQB A0 IN platform. Let's see if the 1.5 TSI DSG Automatic iteration of the Skoda Kushaq serves the 'enthusiast' souls!
Skoda Kushaq Platform: The Kushaq will be underpinned by Volkswagen’s MQB-A0-IN platform which has been specifically developed for Indian road conditions. The concept measured 4.26metre in length and had a wheelbase of 2,651mm. Up front, the Skoda Kushaq wears the signature butterfly-grille flanked by two-tier headlamps. On the side, the Kushaq could get a petal-type design for the alloy wheels surrounded by black cladding on the pronounced wheel arches.
Skoda Kushaq Interiors: Skoda Kushaq features a 10-inch touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, connected car technology and more. The steering wheel on the production-spec Kushaq is a two-spoke unit, in line with newer Skoda models like the Superb and the upcoming Octavia. The Kushaq comes with traditional dials for instrumentation and does not come with a digital display. Other kit includes ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, a cooled glove box, six speakers and a 50w subwoofer, internal memory storage, wireless Smartlink, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Type-C USB ports, 1and the my Skoda connect app.
Skoda Kushaq Safety Features: Safety features on the top-spec Kushaq will include six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, auto headlamps and wipers, and a multi-collision braking system.
Skoda Kushaq Engine and Transmission: The Skoda Kushaq comes with two engine options - a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol. The 1.0-litre TSI puts out 115hp and comes with 6-speed manual and torque convertor auto gearbox options. The 1.5-litre TSI unit, meanwhile, puts out a healthy 150hp and will be available with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic option.
Skoda Kushaq Competitors: Kushaq will have to prove its mettle against the likes of the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, and the Jeep Compass.

I think it has same engine as VW Tiguan . I did a test drive of Tiguan , it’s a good car but I didn’t like it well . It has DSG automatic transmission which doesn’t have a punching feeling and has transmission lagging. The same is there for Ford Ecosport as well . Skoda Kodiaq also has same VW engine but in terms of economics it is well priced with lots of features. I would say those who are planning to buy / test drive of an automatic suv then pls do a test drive other cars as well to experience the difference . You will surely notice big difference in transmission. May be @Hani Musthafa can suggest few cars for your test drive comparison. Not sure how the Diesel engine will be. In short I hate transmission lagging.
